  1. The deal should be wrapped up in 48 hours according to this article... why does that sound so familiar?
  2. I don't think he's a bad defender, but I would be pretty annoyed with this signing. This would not signal intent, and we'd have to replace him sooner than later... probably next year!
  3. I highly doubt he intentionally went about trying to destroy this club. Yeah, he turned out not to be as great as initially thought, but to hold such a grudge against someone who accepted a pay-off (that the club agreed to) is just insane. He wasn't up for the job -- now he's gone. You can learn from history, but you don't have to live in it.
  4. I would be pretty upset if we didn't bring anyone in, mainly because Koeman has said himself he'd like 3 or 4 new players in this window. It's still early days. I highly doubt that we'll bring absolutely no one in this window though.
  5. Yeah, I've heard he can be kind of an asshole to be honest. I'm sure he got sick of all the attention, but a few people I know have said he can be kind of a dickhead when you meet him in person.
  6. For sure -- That was one of the other reasons I thought he was so great. You just knew he wanted to be out there playing the game. He always celebrated like a kid after every touchdown pass too. I was really hoping he'd get another ring before he retired, but it wasn't meant to be. He got a little weird at the end there but I'll always respect his spirit.
  7. Yeah, New England looks to be favorites for the AFC title. They were home, and that's always a tough place to play in the winter no doubt. And he's an excellent player! I picked them because their former starting QB (Brett Favre) is from my home state, and I thought it was pretty cool at the time that he was from the same area -- he and my mom went to the same school also.
  8. Yep -- always a tough game against the Steelers. Luckily, my Packers made it through, so I had a little to celebrate this weekend.
  9. I'm always weary of strikers from the Dutch leagues. A lot of attack and not much defense seems to be the trend of tactics there, IMO.
  10. I like him, but I still think he needs more time to prove himself. The injury history is scary.
  11. I doubt that Swansea will sell him unless it's for an over-the-top sum. He's their best player by a long-shot. I would love him here though.
  12. I hope he does well. Obviously, he's not in Koeman's plans, so I want to see him increase his value as much as possible during this time. Hopefully then we can recoup some of the money spent on him.
  13. I also agree with this. The only thing I would worry about is the travel. We need to play against better opposition to become better though.
  14. He comes across very humble. Really hope he succeeds here.
  15. I'd take Van Dijk, Keane, or Gibson over him any day.
  16. While I'm disappointed for him, two months will come and go quickly (hopefully). I feared it was worse than that at first.
  17. No thanks, even as a stop gap. We have too many aging CBs as it is!
  18. Yeah, can't say I'm too excited with this link.
  19. It would be Schneiderlin, striker and ACM for me. I think Joel has done alright to be a stop-gap this season (not saying we don't need a new keeper though).
  20. Welcome to the club! First signing down -- now let's get some more in!
  21. I'm still refusing to get my hopes up until it's done.
  22. I agree. I think he's a step-up from any defender we currently have on the books.
  23. What the hell is everyone talking about?!
