  1. I really hate the thought of losing Gerry. He has a ton of potential.
  2. I'll be made up if he's good enough to be called up to any national team one day. It says a lot already that Nigeria is looking to talk to him.
  3. Hopefully he takes his time to make a decision. He's still so young and there's no need to rush.
  4. I agree with you, and we also both said the same thing last year, but they bottled it in typical Spurs fashion.
  5. I hope so. I think he's ahead of our current CBs by a long-shot.
  6. The question is where does Barkley fit in that midfield?
  7. Don't necessarily agree with this. I think he could easily start for PSG and a few other teams in a couple of years. He still has a lot to learn, but I have no doubt that his ambition will take him there.
  8. Can't say I'm too disappointed if the deal is off. I just hope we have a plan B, C, and D.
  9. Yeah, I don't know about world class, but I can see him at the level right below that.
  10. Me three. I still think he has it in his locker to be a top player. He needs a consistent run of games, but he also has to earn that run which he hasn't really done yet.
  11. I love Rom but after seeing how Tom Davies plays for the shirt I have to admit that he jumps ahead of Rom as one of my favorite players at Everton. I would hate to lose Rom but the spirit shown by Davies is what makes me love Everton even more.
  12. That work-ethic will make/is making a huge difference in our play.
  13. I wouldn't say his absence has been a good thing, but it doesn't appear that his absence has hurt the team.
  14. I thought he held on to the ball too much and couldn't move forward without rolling it under his feet. I appreciate his work-rate, but sometimes I think he tries too much. He and Lukaku seemed to have a good partnership; however, his absence hasn't hurt Lukaku's goal-scoring one bit.
  15. Seeing him celebrate gave my goosebumps. You could see how much it meant to him.
  16. I'm starting to come around to that idea too. If he keeps up his performance then I don't see how he could be replaced.
  17. ...and they have Everton as comparable to the Packers.
  18. I don't watch nearly as much NFL now as I did 10 years ago. I'm probably more in tune with the history of the league than the current state of it.
  19. As much as I hate to admit it, you have a good point. I absolutely hate the bears though. One thing in Green Bay's favor is their interactions with their fans. Won't see a club more involved in their community like Green Bay. They have to have the most loyal fans imo, but I guess I'm biased.
  20. Dolphins won two Super Bowls in the early 70s, and the 90s were good (when they had Dan Marino at QB) and late 70s/early 80s they were decent also. The Dolphins are a weird case. Since they're in Miami they have a bit of a "fair-weather" fan-base. Not saying you are that way of course (obviously, you can't be since they've only been to playoffs twice since 2002). Their PL equivalent would probably have to match the below criteria (in my opinion): "Weak" fan-base and located in a vibrant city/town Some success in history but recently unsuccessful Usually only make it pass the first round in the cup, but they have been to few cup finals. Usually have one standout player that makes things happen. Probably a lower table side but usually avoid relegation as there are other teams worse than them.
  21. Packers have only missed the playoffs 5 times in the last 24 years (since 1993), and they've won two Super Bowls in that period. They've also been to the playoffs every year in the last eight years. The seventies and eighties were rough though. Steelers have missed 8 during that time but have also won two Super Bowls. They were good in the seventies. The Patriots barely made the playoffs until 1994 (were formed in 1971), but they've won four titles since then. They've also missed the playoffs 6 times in that 24 year period. I agree that the Packers would be the closest to Everton in the NFL. I think that's part of the reason I was drawn to the Blues is because they remind me of how Green Bay treats its fans.
  22. I would like to keep him. His fitness will be in question, but I'm still holding out hope he'll come through. He adds some industrious movement to the midfield that we need.
