  1. Nah. It's not ideal... but we obviously need a #10 regardless who is striker. That's been a given for awhile now.
  2. I'm ecstatic that more I think about this. We just need that creative AM that we've been lacking for the last few years to come in now. Agree with MJB on his picks of players that we need as well.
  3. Absolutely. Martinez started his time here with a bang and that bought him two extra seasons, but it was evident things were moving quickly downhill before he left. Koeman needs a chance to turn things around so we're battling again. It's obvious the players we have on the books (most of them) aren't willing to fight for the club and I'm ready to see a lot moving on because of that. As fans we want instant success from the players we have -- that's not always possible -- however, working hard for the fans is, and we're just not seeing that. It's unacceptable.
  4. Happy he's signed a new contract -- I'll be even happier when he steps his game up.
  5. I hope so -- but it would excellent if he could start putting in 90 min shifts again on a regular basis.
  6. I just don't see him being a full-season player anymore, and I'm beginning to wonder if he's even a half-season player. He's becoming as bad as Gibson at this point, which is a shame, because he's shown what we've been missing in that midfield role.
  7. Of all the players at Everton, I want him to come good more than the others, but he becomes more inconsistent with each game. I understand if his confidence is low, but if he wants to be a stand-out footballer in the Premier League then he needs to get over it and become mentally tough. You can just see it in his body language that he has absolutely zero faith in his own ability right now, but frankly that's no excuse! It's gone on too long.
  8. Mirallas has been poor, but the decision to bring DCL on instead of him was a bad one I thought. We needed someone with some experience in that situation.
  9. Went with Coleman, though the game completely turned on its head after McCarthy's exit.
  10. Barry has been great for us but it's been obvious his legs have been going for awhile now, and we've been relying on him too much. We desperately need another CM who can run like McCarthy but doesn't get injured as much.
  11. Feeling uneasy at the moment -- I'm hoping we show the same desire and fight that we had against Arsenal.
  12. Are you the youngest active poster in the forum?!
  13. Hopefully at least a transfer window to bring in defensive reinforcements. No one is going to succeed with that backline.
  14. There was an interview with a former teammate of his awhile back where said teammate's advice was not to go to United because you're expected to perform instantly. I think his choices were between Spurs and United. I think the pressure got to him and his confidence is low. I think he'd be a great loan option. If he doesn't perform then it's not our problem (at least after the season)
  15. 28 -- one of the young guns on the board apparently.
  16. Me neither. I don't think I could care less about what he's doing at City right now.
  17. Woke up this morning feeling a lot more optimistic about Koeman -- Ask me again how I feel after the next match.
  18. Hopefully McCarthy can keep it up. Shades of his first season for us in last night's display. Like Dean said, you'd think his pressing style would be exactly what Koeman would want -- it was just a matter of fighting through the injuries (knock on wood he stays healthy). Barry has been great, but his legs have been going for a long time now.
