Davies playing with just as much confidence as I've seen with the U21s. Mirallas back to his old self. Rom looking like he's got his groove back. Kenny excellent. Dowell with a lot about him. Stones and Jags solid. Barry another class, and actually allowed to play early balls. And Leighton Baines is back to being Leighton Baines. Couldn't be happier going into summer, whatever happens.

He looks totally defeated in his post match interview.

His voice has no optimism in it at all. Very short low tone answers. Nothing like what we are used to seeing/hearing from him.

I feel bad for him just now because I'm a soft twat. A good candidate who can't do the job. I know he has give it his all, done good things off the pitch.

Please don't allow him to take on the final home game if we are going to sack him. If we are going to keep him...someone come out and say so...reveal a master plan that will ease the feeling for the final home game.

This just doesn't feel good to me. Doesn't feel like Everton.

I have supported Martinez and believed he could turn it around until the derby, then it became evident to me that he had lost not only the fans but the dressing room, this was confirmed by the 1st half display in the FA Cup semi final.

If was apparent to me living in London and getting back 6 or 7 times a year it should be obvious to the board. They should have made the decision to sack him after the semi final and given the last 4 games to Unsworth and Ferguson to see out, bring back the feel good factor and let players and fans end the season with a bit of relief and hope for the future.

Martinez is in my opinion a decent, genuine man who loves football and has genuinely bought into the Everton way. Some of the things he has done, like changing our style of play to a more attractive passing way, bringing in some great players and supporting Everton in the Community will be a testament to his tenure.

Ultimately he failed, most of this is his fault, being stubborn, defensive nievaty, couldn't handle players with big ego's. I respect the man and applaud his efforts. He is a human being and should be treated with respect, we have made our feelings clear, we know he is going to leave, the baying for his blood must stop.

We are Everton and are better than this.

Although I feel Martinez has bought this situation onto himself, I still don't like the fact that the majority of players have been overlooked in their efforts and attitude.

Haf has alluded to the fact many of them have not put in even the smallest amount of effort the last couple of months and that's something the fans shouldn't tolerate.

IF there is a new guy, a new era, I hope he tells these players the "what's what" before getting them to actually try and play competitive football again.

Martinez appears to be a warm, sweet, humane fellow, who found in Everton a special club, and in Kenwright an owner who totally bought into his project, vision, and emerging football brilliance. As did I. I thought Martinez was a brilliant new mind, and that he and Everton made a highly promising pairing. His first season seemed to point in the direction of success -- European football and challenging for top 4 in the league.

Until the second half of this season, my main concern was whether injuries and inconsistent play would derail his project, because several emerging young stars would be tempted to go to a big club, and because Martinez would be unable to persuade them to have faith in his vision. Until the second half of this season, his public analyses of the team's performances were puzzling, irritating, but not a deal-breaker.

But in the last several months, I have reluctantly come to the view that Roberto's sweet personality has diverted (my) attention from the probability that, as a football mind, he is an utter fanatic, literally obsessed with his theories of how to play attractive football. Usually, or so I had thought, obsessed fanatics have a bit of the glint in the eye, a hardness, a sort of off-center look or personality. Roberto's smile is trustworthy, not off-center.

His words, though, gradually struck me as something more than an odd take on the reality of the team's play and results. His explanations became not quaint but bizarre. Then inaccurate. Then delusional. Then lies.

He now strikes me as an odd combination of a calm, warm, genuinely good human being, but a mad-scientist of a manager, obsessed with perfectionist theories detached from footballing reality. It appears he has yet to concede that his theories are not applicable to every assembled squad, including one that he continues to assemble. He will hope to persuade the owners to stick with his vision.

Whether they will think his vision genius or madness, I'm not sure, though he's clearly lost the fans, and many of the players. His promising project almost worked, maybe, but it's past the point of no return. I suspect the owners will by now have been unsettled by Martinez's repeated public self-humiliations.

I do wonder whether they will be thinking of the best way to save Roberto from himself. Undoubtedly Roberto doesn't think he needs saving. He's wrong.

What about this is dignified though? The club have been deathly silent while Martinez is in the firing line, they've left him there to have shit flung at him. I don't see any dignified behaviour whatsoever.

I have watched Kane score 50% of hos goals from making the chance himself.
He looks like he is awkward and not putting in effort, but it's effective.

As for Jags, I name my opinion from watching him and he always puts in a shift. He puts his body on front of pretty much everything.

A month ago someone said that Robles must be great as he had faced 8 shots on target and still kept a clean sheet.
I watched the match and he made one save, Jags saved more with his ass.
He is one of the bravest defenders I have watched.

He has England caps, he has had offers from champions league teams...at least one haha.

And as for Lukaku or Kane....that's honestly a tough one.
I think I would swing towards Lukaku as I think he has potential word.

Bring him on as a 60th minute sub against Bournemouth. See how he goes. If he grabs his chance then start him in the Leicester and Norwich games.

A role model for any young player.

I have nothing against Martinez as a person but enough is enough. We are just going backwards. Also certain overrated players should accept responsibility for a shameful season.

I just don't get the impression they're being used effectively. Or trained/coach efficiently.

Both Mori and Stones have the attributes to be fantastic defenders, but right now, they don't know their arse from their elbow.

    ...you have to go.

Take Lukaku with you. He was beyond shit tonight. Wants champions league hahaha fuck off, your just not good enough.

One day you may be, but at the moment your not.

Martinez, out of your depth. Nice guy and I applaud you for trying. But sorry your not the right person for the job.

I like Lukaku but I'm actually hoping he leaves in the Summer. He's a great goalscorer for his age but his attitude these last few months has been awful, he hasn't put a shift in since the Chelsea FA Cup game. His heart isn't in it anymore, he seems more fixed on thinking of a move away rather than helping the team. If we are offered anything over £50m id take it, if we get a quality player in return then all the better.

They only need to look at Klopp sniggering at the fact that even Lucas is taking pot shots at goal against the club that they own to give them the motivation they need to sort this shambles out.

just seen the replay now, looked like an awkward challenge but not intentional. was a stamp but many players have done that and just gotten a yellow.

and FUCK OFF assistant manager yelling at Mori on the way down the tunnel. you'll be sacked in the morning.

Only saving grace was Mori grabbed the badge and waved it proud on his way off, he knows a derby after playing for River Plate.

Seems a bit silly to have no defenders on the bench. Would've been wise to at least have that Connolly on the bench. It'd hardly be a loss not to have one of Pienaar or Osman not in the squad.
