  1. gratz on marriage Haf! There are a lot who have the same burnout with the two i can see that. but one thing is evident and that is that they are trying.....or it seems to me they are. Maybe that is just me buying into BK's talk, but i do feel they try thier best. Now if they turn out to be as far as they can go and we have to change, then thats down to footballing reasons amd not through lack of trying. And i would still credit Moyes with turning us around and building from the bottom up.
  2. Nothing personal Haf but i need more of a reason not to believe in those words. to me that is the right thing to do, when Everton do bow down to the disgruntled jaded few, then thats when i think the real problems will start. You gotta stop hating so much man! your last few months of posts are being clouded by your hated of the two guys! take a step back and look at current situations and what we can do to resolve them. Is there a better manager at the moment for us that DM? Is there a better person at the reigns at the moment that BK? Should we hang on to what we have and stay in debt? Or should we sell an asset and try to build? Should we just sell to the highest offer and hope they dont strangle us? or should we wait out for the right investors? My thoughts are that i can think of no better two guys at the helm at the min ( realistically ) I also dont want to be sold to anyone for a few quick millions only to see us slide further into the shit. If we need to sell to build then although i will be gutted to see my faves go, i can understand it. Personally i would like to see another year of Moyes and see what he can do with this momentum we have, not just the same old second half to season either...anyone who watched us could see an obvious change in the way we play with Jela. If we start the same again then maybe look for a replacment over Christmas.
  3. Yes they do have to declare themselves at every match they turn up to. thats an FA rule that can have them de-registered if they dont abide by. I played semi pro football 10 years ago and know 5 or 6 pro footballers up to championship level that would admit to you that they were either just in the right place at the right time or simply knew the right people. Two west brom players could not get into our semi pro sunday team ( from 10 years ago )
  4. Jags just answered a question thats all. Just gave a simple honest evaluation of his own opinion. Makes no difference to Fellis price whatsoever and no difference to if he goes or not. Chelsea have been interested for twelve months. Just a comment on Ossie too. i think he would get into any first team outside the top six. he is seriously under-rated and a good honest pro that most teams would die for. Back onto the subject of Felli. I agree that we should not sell and not spend anything other than money for Peanuts. We have a few young ones coming through now and we can progress by doing it our way. we can cry and moan every year but all it is going to do is pressure the board into selling us to the wrong people. I would be happy this summer if we can keep everyone at the club and get just one signing......that signing has to be Pienaar.
  5. Dont forget it is not the first time we have taken an old player on as a free just to help them out and give them a chance to move on. Many teams do the same and that is what i expect happened with McFadden. I hear Arsenal do i quite a lot too.
  6. I would say that when Rodders came back for a couple of matches i thought "why the hell is he in the team" Then i watched how he played and got a little of that enthusiasm back for him again. Whenever i see him play, which is not often admitedly, he is looking like he has something to prove. I would not write him of yet guys! the guy does have talent and plenty of time to get fit and prove something of himself. I mean take yourself back 5 years and ask yourself if Hibbo was going to be solid and reliable in 2012? there is a guy that has just got better and better as years go by. Isnt ossie one of the most unsung players in the prem these days? you know hes the type of player that England just dont posses. Rodders is a class act and will come good. Will he make a world beater? i dont know. But one thing i am sure of is that he will become a top player.
  7. Na the keeper tried to save it and the defenders were already dead in the water and could have only jogged back to save a managers roasting about giving up.
  8. Ye i give you that. Guess im just an eternal optimist haha! i doi realise at the moment i am filled with hope especially after the last two months so i may have rose tinted glasses on. But i honestly think that Moyes buying that god damn striking sensation has gave him a lift that not only has him smiling, but looking at the team differently. oh fuck imagine having jelly with his of the shoulder runs with someone like Arteta's ( tear ) craft in the middle threading balls through. From what i have been seeing in the reserves from Barkley ( which is not that much, would love to see more ) he looks like he has a ball through the middle in his locker. Seems to have a few assists from through balls.
  9. Cant argue with that other than ask, isnt the second half of the season a sign that it could just be working? Agreed if next season starts the same as this then yes we cant go on with this and maybe something deeper is wrong. But at the moment i am with the group that is going with the momentum and wants to push forward, and if that means moyes and bill being buddies then who cares. I mean lets face facts here...we are skint! but moyes still managed to spend money in January that we are not meant to have? does this mean that maybe the mopyes/bill relationship in a wierd kind of way actually works? Maybe due to that relationship bill is squeezing what little we dont have. Or am i missing somethiong and we have the money somewhere hidden. To me i just simply can't see how we can improve on our manger at this time. Coaching staff i wholheartedly agree. We could do with Dunc having free reign on our forwards and could do with finding a creative coach to nurture our wonder kid through. But for now i am sticking my trust with moyes and will support him and the club through thick and thin. Unless we start shit next season again then ill be all over them haha! Can i ask what you guys feel about our coaching staff and what influence they have?
  10. One thing i would say is that in January Moyes was actually given some cash to spend. He spent it on a bunch of guys that have not only changed our results, but the way we play too. And dont forget this is the same moyes that cannot come up with a plan B! Am i the only one that can see a completely different style since January? am i the only one that watched the newcastle match and thought to myself...jesus christ, were not only better then these but we are playing them of the park. Yes he still needs to show a plan B when a match is going badly, but lets look back at Man city shall we.....had the title virtually won at christmas.....6 games to go they had blown it......was that becuase thier manager didnt have a clue? the rest as they say is history. Every top team has had more than one or tow off days this season against lower opposition, just like u. But we still managed to finish 7th with no cash. Could we really do better than Moyes? i would hate to see him go to a club with cash and buy a team that wins something. I think we should back him until h has been given that chance...if he falls on his face then ill be in line with you all asking for his sack!
  11. I have watched Wallace a few times in the england set up and still undecided. Seems like he has a real good engine and not scared of shooting. Tackles hard and very energetic. Only probs i had is that he didnt seem to have much technical ability. Would be a great player in our dogs of war era, but now not so sure. But again he is only young and like others have said, he teams he gets loaned to always ask to extend it. Baxter is another i have watched a good amount. He frustrates me because he does have ability. he could just do with a little more desire. Hope i am afraid i can't see him making it here. Scores a lot of goals at the younger levels but he is more an old fashioned poacher from what i have saw. Theres not many of that type left in the premiership
  12. This has to be the single most important piece of business this summer. If given the choice between signing peanuts or spending 15 million on some other player then i would still choose peanuts. Simply unplayable since joining back with us, he has terrorised everyone who has come up against him bar none. If we can sign him and keep Felli! this summer then i will be celebrating like we have just spent 30 mill! If bainsey stays too that would just be the perfect summer for me. And if by any slim chance we do add anyone, then that has to be the best summer for the last 10 years.
  13. Felli was a different class today. The guy was amazing. Moyes must be tempted to pplay him more forward with Jelly after that. Holding of ferdinand and controlling the ball with his chest reminded me of Drogba at his best. If Felli actually realises how good he is we are going to have a world class player on our hands. Just hope Moyes and the board can come up with something in the summer to keep him here. With performances like that the big boys have got to be looking.
  14. you could be right Haf and i hope that he gets that and turns himself around. I think i am just angry that a guy with so much potential acts the way he does ( maybe ) when others work thier arse off and will never have the talent.
  15. i agree with you mhe looks like he has the tools...just needs time. But as you say what better way to be trained than by the man himself!
  16. SteveO the guys gotta help himself to start thats what you seem to missing mate! The guy is said to have turned up for training late multiple times, one on the day of an FA semi final. Then theres the talk of his drinking and partying, yes it may all be rumours but i have not seen the guy come out and say anything to make me believe otherwise. I am still to see the guy come in and work his arse off to get the fans on his side. to me...and this is just personally....that shows a lack of respect for the manager and club. for this alone it would be him that needs to prove to me. How much do you get paid mate? you are comparing your job with being a proffesional footballer ion the public eye. no comparison. Dont get me wrong i think he is a talented guy. i would love to see him come out and prove himself. But as it stands at the moment for me the trouble is not worth it.
  17. nana i got it! Velious was dropped to the reserves because he scored a goal for us and moyes didnt think it was the "type" of goal that he wanted Everton to be scoring, and Velios has not had a look in since. Honestly thats what happened. Oh come on!
  18. you really want players that think they are bigger than the club playing for us? The guy is taking this piss out of all of us......as a fan i go with the club over the player anyday.
  19. point taken. But i still dont think hes anywhere near ready. And its not to say i dont rate him cause i do, i just think he needs more time and thats why he was brought out. If you are right about the contract stuff then i would find it hard to argue anymore haha! that would be a piss take.
  20. I would still rather give a tryer a chance than a guy who thinks he is better than our club....wouldn't you?
  21. I know Velious was our top scorer back then but was it more of a supersub or a regular prem striker scoring? in my opinion he was a decent sub to come on and gave us a bit of excitment, but did you watch him from a start? i dont think anyone will disagree when i say he looked average at best. I still dont think he was anywhere near the finished article, not even half way there. I hink moyes brought him back out to let him know there is work to do. Again though just an opinion. I still dont know about Moyes, i think he is happy here but i dont think thats because he is not ambitious, i think its more he wants to leave with a legacy of a trophy and he believes that he can do it here. Give him some cash amd see if he has a plan B. though i look at the football we played at the start and what we have been playing recently and i can see a massive change. i think its more options we need not a plan B. To me you cannot ask Neville to try to play the passing game, that goes for a lot of our players. Dont forget we have done a good job since xmas ( again ) in trying for europe. would it have been better to just try other things and forget about it for a year? not for me, i would rather try for europe.
  22. come on were all a bit too intellegent to believe that arent we? Velious is in the reserves because he is not even close to being a prem player. we have seen that when he gets too long in a match, give him 15 mins and he looks ok, but any longer and it shows he is not ready yet. Drenthe is not bigger than EFC and until he realises this i couldnt care who he goes to. he either does it our way and respects our club or bye bye! Haf, Gotta ask mate and i dont mean this anything other than just a question. But is it just frustration at how mediocre we have been for the last 10 years that is inspiring your , what comes accross as utter hatred of moyes? I understand your frustration i really do but is it all moyes fault? is he really that bad or could it be he is at a club that stifles him too.....because of the cash flow? But back on subject i think we really need to be careful with Barkley.....but still i get goosebumps at the thought of him playing part against united.
  23. Lets not get carried away. We have heard the "thinking about it" many times this year. But have to admit i am a bit more excited now i heard that.
  24. It's sometimes not about how good they are but more about having respect for our club! If he has no respect for the way we do things then kick him out.....simple fact is that we are Everton FC! he is just another player with potential that can't be arsed to realise it, not our problem mate. Get your shit together or take it somewhere else, no matter how good you are.
  25. Not saying there arent great examples where young kids have held up. But for every one that handled it there is also one bright prospect that didn't and dissapeared. Thats has nothing to do with how good they are and as a club that cant afford to just buy another one, we have a responsibility to look after them correctly. I coach under 16 lads myself and have to follow strict guidlines. I can see the difficulties that young people face when it comes to pressure and confidence. It's not always about the club but also a young persons future. Some of these kids are exstremely gifted and have worked very hard for thier oppurtunity, our manager has a responsibility to make sure they get the chance they deserve. We sometimes forget how fragile mental strenght can be, while also forgetting that depression is an illness and not something that you can just " give yourself a kick up the butt and get over it " ....thats a comment i used to use before it happened to someone very close and i learnt more about it. I have seen way too many promising young people be destroyed by confidence. On the other note though. Damn i am absolutely distraught! i really thought 7th could give us a place.
