  1. ...far from what your thinking...I aint gonna tout his name!

However, with Utd, City and Chelsea all replacing their managers...could it be that if Arsenal, spurs, us n that other lot over there play our cards right...you know, 2013/14 could be a very interesting season.

You know what I mean? I think i do...it's late, Im goin to bed on that note....

  2. I'm not sure Romey....I think I have always been unsure at what point to wade into conversation...you kind of want to...but when you check back its turned into a bitch session...so u kinda think, 'ah bollocks, better things to do just now'!

There are some real strong posters, each have different opinions...but we have to accept that each opinion is unique to that person...and carry on!!!

  3. I don't agree with the view that Moyes has negative tactics.

We have a very small squad, and not too many options to change things around. Our line ups are very attack minded, and we constantly swap play. It's no fluke that we are a strong team.

Nah, I dont think the 'modern' Moyes is negative. But I do believe that there is a grain in the team from years gone by that means we tend to sit back and go negative. Hence, a fresh start is good for Moyes, and so long as we get the right man, its good for us too.

  4. It's gonna be real tough for him. It will be good to see if his approach to tactics changes. Will he insist Utd sit back after 70mins even if they have the upperhand? Or was that a nasty team habbit from the early days that couldn't be shaken off here?

He'll need a different approach...here he has to buy bargain players who need to be told they can make a difference....at Utd he'll be buying players who are at the top of their game and will have a bit of an inflated ego. We all know Moyes has struggled with these types of players at Everton. That's going to be interesting.

I cant decide if it will work for him or not. I hope it does, but a part of me thinks it could go wrong...lets see which Davie Moyes turns up!

  5. Well, to weigh in with my own views, and my first proper post...I'm taking a deep breath here...

Firstly, whoever comes in has got a brilliant first 11 to play with. Behind that first 11 is a bit of a problem, we all know more depth is needed to the squad. The debate around the youngsters will rage on...but with our top drawer (albeit rented) training facilities and youth set up, I would like to see some of the young ones given a bit more opportunity. Whoever it is will need to do this.

Finacially, we are still going to be a club with a lower budget. I know peeps rave on about the new TV deal, but every club is going to get extra so I only expect player prices and wages to rise as a result of this money...so it doesnt change the financial playing field. Someone needs to be used to working on a tight budget.

Everyone wants modern, Euro style attacking football. Our first 11 can do this but the next man must get rid of this 'sit back after 70mins' mentality. Free flowing football has to be the mentality from the off.

For me, Martinez from day one. He is also only 39 and will know he will be given time. But I honestly believe that with his view on football tactics and our current crop of players, he would fit right in. He turned down Villa and that shite, but he was concerned about stability and how his role would be played out. Here, he has 100% control. A lot of people criticise BK, in some ways so do I, but the way he handled Moyes, relationship wise, must be an attraction for Martinez. Plus, Wigan are going down and I dont think they'll be back anytime soon...Europa + Championship? No chance!

I have always disliked Benitez, his arrogance drives me crazy. But, he is my second choice and from his quotes today, he is flirting himself a bit I think. His record speaks for itself. But I doubt he could handle the lack of money.

    Phew!

  6. Well, Ive been reading this forum for nearly 2 years...the only EFC forum I bother with.
