  1. There's no excuse now to sell Baines. I'm happier to see him leave now when he's injury prone and over-hyped than when he's setting the world alight.
  2. The part I find most amusing was all the reports out a few weeks ago. "Baines to have a medical at OT on Friday and pen a 4-year deal was what I read over and over again on twitter. Weeks later Everton denied having any contact.
  3. I'd like to see Barkley or Naismith up behind Jelly, although against Utd it's probably not ideal to be trying new combinations. Felli went pretty well there at the end of last season so I think we should leave him there to give them a few headaches. Same for Coleman (I'd like to see him at RB), probably better to wait for a weaker team to trial some new things.
  4. Given we've picked up Jelavic and Naismith both on frees, being down 1.5m isn't that bad. Count your blessings fellas.
  5. So myself and half a dozen mates are doing a trip over to the motherland from Australia over December/January. We plan on watching the boys vs Chelsea @ Goodison on the 28th, then the new years day clash up north at Newcastle, Arsenal v Man City at Emirates on the 12th of Jan and Tottenham vs Man Utd at WHL on the 19th. Ticketing is much different to that of the footy over here from what I've gathered. How do a bunch of out of towners like us get tickets for these? I'm aware due to the big nature of the games that we'll have to snap them up as soon as their on sale, if any go on sale to the general public at all. I saw someone on here a while ago was told to contact the clubs for some hospitality deals. If anyone can help out I'd appreciate it greatly.
  6. Contributed more than your sarcastic comment, did it not?
  7. Was hoping he'd stay til January at least so I could get over and watch him play from Australia.. Shame
  8. Twitter's saying Bainesy told Moyes he wants to stay
  9. Watching Australia vs Japan last night he did appear to be very hungry. He was everywhere and he was going up and winning crosses all game. Maybe a few weeks rest was all he needed to refresh and come back fit and strong. Then again he won't be going up against 5 and a half foot CB's in the prem..
  10. I think you guys are onto something with the loss leader on club jerseys on an international level. Here in Australia if you ask someone who has no clue about the game to name a team in the EPL they'll say either Manchester United or Chelsea, just because loads of people are walking around in their jerseys. Raises their profile internationally and creates revenue. I would have thought with Cahill being so well known over here that the club would have flooded Australian fans with jerseys as an investment.
  11. I believe it was a tongue in cheek comment about how much we would be able to get out of them for TC.
  12. Should I get Baines or Felli then?
  13. I hope not. As soon as Nike release the home kit I plan on getting a number 17 on the back.
  14. Saha's face in that picture. Priceless What a troll.
  15. I'm quite glad he's sticking to what he believed about whatever Cabaye said. Too often players off all sports come out with the rehearsed crap they're given on a script from the clubs PR officer. It's good he apologised, as he should have, but he's clearly a guy who wears his heart on his sleeve and I reckon it's good he has articulated what set him off and set the record straight about why he did so.
  16. Sure Surely one of those three will not be here next season though? I can see right now bringing Pienaar back will be used as an excuse for cashing in on the offers we will get for Felli or Baines. But you're right, I reckon if Jelavic, Heitinga, Baines, Pienaar and Felli all stick around for next season we'll be going to Europe.
  17. The message the club is portraying if they cash in on Fellaini is that the aim of the club in the long term is to produce good players and sell them to keep them afloat. Wouldn't a better and more sustainable idea be to keep those good players so we can progress, and then look for alternative ways to settle the debt without selling the key players? First option is just seeing us selling the Fellaini's, the Baines's to keep afloat and sit mid table where we will be for years to come. Second option sees us retaining those players, competing in Europa/Champions League and attracting others to want to be at Everton. I know which kind of club I would back if I was a deep pocketed investor.
  18. One step forward, two steps back. We finally get some fluidity in the midfield with Gibson and Felli forming a good partnership and now we're gonna sell him? We'll be back to where we were at the start of the season where it's give the ball to Baines and hope someone gets a head on his cross. I don't understand why we would sell him? You're not going to get anyone near his level of dominance in the midfield for us IMO.
  19. Those three assists against Fulham have gotta be good for those poor stats ey

    Fulham (home)

Loved Timmy's celebration. He stuck his hands out at the corner post as if to say "Oh boy I've missed you!"
  21. It does make a weekend of fixtures a whole lot more interesting and fun to watch (or frustrating if the last game on a multi fucks it for you). A couple of mates and I just usually pick 4-6 results and chuck $5 on it, great buzz when you win enough money for a night out for picking winners.
