  1. Another thread where Avin's humour swoops right over everyone's heads. Americans are fat.
  2. Fuck no, wouldn't do the goal justice.
  3. Very glad jelavic got at least an assist out of this game. Needs all the encouragement he can get, especially with Vic on his tail. What an absolute screamer from Baines, ill tell people for years I saw that in the flesh.
  4. Was maybe hoping for something about us out playing them with a second string side. Won't be so stupid next time.
  5. Gutted we didn't get the win but that was one of the best 90 minutes of my life. Such a great atmosphere. Completely outplayed them and I think if we had felli, mirallas, Gibson and Coleman we would have got a few more goals. Pienaar was an absolute boss. Him and Baines are unplayable when they're on their game and its crucial that moyes holds onto Baines in the transfer window. If he sells him to that old fart Fergie we'll be shot for any direction in attack. Vic had a great game, as did Vellios, and boy is Jelavic unlucky. Poor bastard deserved at least one today, was a brilliant free kick, a brilliant header and a brilliant run for that saved one. He would have had 3 had this game been at the start of the year. On Barkley, I think he's more than ready to start playing. Before he lost that ball he was making a mockery of some of those Chelsea tackle attempts, and I honestly thought he was going to make the difference. Heard a bloke behind me saying he's off the pace because he's been playing Sheffield and hes in too deep at the moment. Fuck that. He's only going to get better with confidence and experience, and coming on at CM one goal down with fifteen minutes to go is a tough ask, particularly against Chelsea. Personally I think moyes should start him next week. Show some faith in him and I'm sure he'll deliver. If Sterling and Wilshere can cope with the Prem, Barkley can too.
  6. Di Santo, Kone and that other Wigan attacker have always stood out to me. Mignolet would be good, or Brad Jones from the shite (I like him cause he's an Aussie, so forgive me). Le Fondre also seems to go alright.
  7. Yeah we got in yesterday morning. Here on a four week tour through Liverpool, Newcastle, Manchester, Barcelona and London chasing round the football.
  8. Will be buzzing regardless of the result, watching my first Everton game in the flesh at this one, seeing another at Newcastle. If anyone sees half a dozen Aussies in the Lower Gwlady's come say hi. We'll probably be singing all the wrong words cause its so damn hard to understand you scousers. As for the game, I'm always quietly confident against the big boys, the Goodison fortress will work in our favour. I thought Jela should be benched but not against these guys. I think if he's ever to nick a trademark goal of his it'll be against these. Heart says 2-1 Everton Head says 1-1 By the way, anyone got any suggestions for where to go for a drink before/after the game? We're staying at Albert Dock so any brief directions would help as well.

At least Jelavic is getting to decent positions and having the chance to score. Saha in his latter stages had one half chance per game at best and he usually kicked the ground and missed the ball. I'd be really worried if he wasn't seeing any chances at all.

You can hardly claim Vellios' assist. Spectacular attempt at goal just happened to fall to Jelavic. That said he should be given a fair crack. Bench Jelavic for Wigan and play Vellios/Vic.

Never mind, until full time of Chelsea game we're tied third place with Arsenal, 4th on goals. Woooop woooop let's go Villa!

Tottenham draw, Arsenal win. Up to 5th place?

Someone describe it to me. I'm hearing it was an open goal on twitter, how far out?

Why Naismith?!?! What will it take for Moyes to give Barkley a crack. If Liverpool and Arsenals young future world beaters are capable of getting time why isn't Barkley?

GAHHH I wish I could watch this damn game. Stupid Bangkok, some tv network puts this game on their one channel that they don't include in their sports package for pubs. GO PIENAAR YOU MACHINE.

Oh and what's with that little comment @ zoo? Since when did it matter who starts the match thread? First world problems aye.
  18. Seen a few mentions of late development, when did he start playing? I love him personally.

Hopefully without fellaini Moyes can get back to the style that we were playing when we beat southhampton and Swansea convincingly. Could be a blessing in disguise me thinks, especially two games before playing Chelsea. Perfect game to see what Barkley can offer as a pivot in attack. As effective as the long ball to felli can be, I'd much rather watch jelavic bang them in after a carefully placed pullback from Coleman after an overlap with mirallas. God that was good to watch. Just hope I can somehow watch this game, will be staying in Bangkok. Missed the last game and had to settle for watching Liverpool get done by villa, which after hearing how shit the game at stoke was, perhaps wasn't a bad thing.
  20. Excuse my ignorance but why is felli's action against shawcross so disgusting? He tapped him with his head to get him to fuck off. Like I think it was pete0 said, my grandmother wouldn't have been troubled by that. Someone also said shawcross made no big deal of it. Bullshit. I know the term diving is usually reserved for players going down without being touched, but hitting the deck like that from such a love tap is diving in my books. Again excuse my ignorance. I've only been following the prem for a year now, and in rugby league here in Aus (which I've followed my whole life) if someone head butted you like that the other player would give you a smack in the mouth, ref would blow a penalty to whoever he saw more at fault and it would be play on. So apologies if I come across a bit neanderthalic, that's just how it usually goes where I'm used to.
  21. Imagine if Moyes moved Felli back into his holding role, how dominant our midfield would be. It would be like a well oiled engine just churning through the prem. Then you could either put Mirallas up behind Jela, or if you want to keep his and Coleman's combination, you could put Osman up front or even give Vellios a bit of time. I'm really looking forward to watching Vellios play more, Moyes should give him a game or two up front and take some pressure off Jelavic.
  22. Apparently they were chanting to Arsenal fans, asking if they were watching. Arsenal fans have all taken to Twitter after the game saying 'Yes we were'
  23. So fucking over the moon right now. Nothing like two injury time goals to win a game that was deservedly ours from midway through the first half. Few little thoughts after watching: We really miss Mirallas when he's not on the pitch. Although that was pretty darn obvious anyway. Naismith offers nothing. Maybe he'd be better playing behind the striker, but what he's shown us playing on the wing, absolute rubbish and Oviedo should be ahead of him every day of the week. I thought we dominated the majority of the game, but just couldn't put it in the net because once we get in around the penalty area, it just seems to be give it to Baines to loop it in for a Jelly/Felli header. Kind of gets stale, Pienaar's goal should very well have been saved IMO, although full credit to him, and Jela's opportunity was very lucky. I suppose it's the kind of opportunity he feeds on, but there's gotta be something more to offer than lumping it in. The first half saw Pienaar and Osman trying to thread through Jelavic behind Spurs defence, but there didn't seem to be much creativity in that respect in the second half. Coleman had a blinder. After his recent showings I felt a bit more comfortable with Hibbert at RB but Coleman definately holds the future there and his partnership with MIrallas is only going to get better. Back in the top 4! Wooop wooop. Perhaps a little bit of that luck we've all been crying out for reared its head today.
  24. I feel a hell of a lot more confident defensively when he plays deeper, and I think that's reflected by our lack of clean sheets this season. But until we have someone better to play in there, it's clearly the most effective way attacking wise - just look at his stats. But I can almost guarantee if he was playing deeper we wouldn't have such a shaky defence. Might be time for Moyes to give Barkley a crack in the hole, at least later on in games when he can provide Jelavic those classic 'poacher' goals of his.
