When you think of it like that (3 points off third) I think the dream for top 4 is still well and truly alive. Chelsea look unstable with their new manager, Tottenham and Arsenal have been far from convincing, although Tottenham have been better of late. I guess we'll see how we fare up against them next week.

Wishful thinking here, but after we belt Tottenham, West Brom lose to Arsenal and Chelsea get done by Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, we'll be in third place. On the other side of the coin were only 2 points ahead of 10th placed Arsenal.

Another referee to screw us out of points. Same old story.

Gee up boys! Lets do this.
  5. I fucking hate that patronising shit. Shows absolute disrespect to the other club when they offer something like that. Why the hell would we want Evra? Disrespectful as hell to Evra as well.

Just been over to blue moon for a little scout, was glad to see that all bar 2 or 3 weren't being arrogant twats. In fact most of them were quite nervous about the game, saying it will either be a very hard earned draw/win for them, or we'll be the first in 36 games to knock them off at home. Milner is out with a hamstring, and Toure is on 4 yellow cards so Mancini could sit him out to keep him available when they play United next week. I'm thinking a 2-2 draw, jelly with a sneaky touch in and a felli boss goal (as always).
  7. With the greatest of respect pete0, as you've obviously followed the sport/Everton a lot longer than I have and have much superior knowledge than I, sometimes I wonder if Pienaar shagged your missus.

    Arsenal

That was the impression I had when watching it live. I thought the keeper would have booted it.
  9. Pienaar Baines and Felli were all dominant I thought. But like has already been said, it was great to see Pienaar back to his old self, and if he hadn't have worked his ass off in the build up to the goal Felli would never have taken the ball in that position.

My bad. Oviedo to left back for City to cover for Baines, and Mirallas (hopefully) back onto the right wing?

Still in fifth due to a better goals differential than Tottenham. 4 behind west brom and 5 behind Chelsea. We really need to be more clinical. There's no point dominating games and playing amazing football if we can't put it in the net. But of course that's pretty obvious.

"Arsene Wenger will be very happy with a point". Sick to death of hearing that about opposition mangers.

Pienaar is amazing. Jelavic not so much.
  14. When the whole squad is fit, I would back us to beat just about any team in the league, and even give City a run for their money. When we started the season we had all guns blazing, the usual left hand side partnership, Coleman and Mirallas carving up the right side and Felli bringing the ball down through the centre and playing off. Once Gibbo is back, he and Osman or Hitzlsperger (2 of the 3) can hold the midfield whilst Felli pushes up, and we'll have that attacking potency back again. For now I'm putting it down to injuries and a few referee decisions here or there. I still think with the squad fully fit we're one of the best in the league. All that said, keep in mind how many points we've had taken from us from a poor refereeing decision, and then how many we've had taken at the death when we deserved a win. No need to panic me thinks, just get on with the season and start playing consistently (not for the 1 point though). Arsenal and Spurs to me don't look like they're going to do much this season, and with two pretty conservative clubs you'd wonder how much they'll put into the January transfer window after the Summer transfers they both had. West Brom will probably fall (although I'd love a dark horse to challenge for top 5), and Chelsea are going to have a hard time with a new manager that the players and the fans are rejecting.

    Arsenal

Couldn't agree more. I think the confidence has been shot down as a result of all these dull results against lesser teams, we need one of those big games at Goodison to get our mojo back. Last year's run towards the finish seemed to be spurred on by beating City, Spurs and Chelsea at home, if we can get up over Arsenal I think we'll get back on track a bit and play as we did after topping United. Moyes seems to know how to get the boys up for big clashes, which has made me strangely confident leading into the next three fixtures. Not feeling that nervous about Arsenal. Just shut down Cazorla and mark their two CB's off set pieces and we should run riot. Does anyone know the situation with Gibbo and Mirallas? Can we expect them back? Arsenal were the only side that finished above us last season that we haven't beaten at Goodison this calendar year, more motivation to win. Also I'll have bragging rights over all my mates (City, Spurs, Newcastle and Arsenal fans) for at least half a week if we beat them!

Sure we were terrible in the second half, but every other damn team on an off day seems to be given the opportunity to get across the line fairly when decent, standard refereeing of a match is implemented. So why arent we given that basic right?? It seems like we have to flog a team beyond reasonable doubt to get the three points with some officials because we are just robbed of rightful calls by officials. Newcastle, Wigan and now Reading. I hate complaining about refs, I hate it when other people complain about refs, but at the end of the day you shouldn't fucking have to because if I can see a foul or a handball in the box on the other side of the planet via a damn box, why can't the damn trained professional who is ten yards away!? 2 points each against Newcastle and Wigan, 3 against Reading, we should be tied with Man City on 27 points, 1 point off the pace. Instead we're sitting below fucking West Brom on 20. Excuse my language, apologies if anyone is offended but I can't stand refereeing deciding the outcome of sport.

Cant believe I'm saying this, but we better get a draw here.

This is a fucking gee up.

We'll draw and once again rue the poor refereeing.

22nd goal of the season, took us til late January to net that many according to Twitter.

    Should have smashed that in.
  24. Only job left for him is to show the youngsters how not to play All seriousness though, can't hurt to have him around on the training paddock but if Moyes insists on starting him in the first XI he's limiting the team by essentially playing 10 men in attack. Coleman offers far more at RB than Neville ever does and his defence is starting to get on par, so there's little in terms of benefit at RB IMO, and we all know what he offers at CM. It would be an absolute shame if he needs a tap on the shoulder, but it's starting to look that way because every time I read something about him it's about Pip saying he's keen to keep on playing.
