GMorrison183
For a record (close to record?) signing, I hope he pans out. This smells of a panic price (can't say panic buy ).

DonKey
Agree with you on that one mate, but we've said all along every club in Europe knew the shit state were in and were going to play the game accordingly. We've been linked with this fella since almost the start of the window. Glad he's here and hope he works out, but hate the fact the club have left it until stupid o'clock to get him in!!!! Jay Bernard
I may get flamed for this but by the sounds of what he is saying in his comments we have liverpool to thanks for him signing. Him saying he regrets not qualifying for champs league with Liege sorta seems to say he wouldnt have left had they qualified. Dunno what yous guys think? Dunno what yous guys think? who cares as long as he is an everton player - although nothing on the official website yet! i don't think we will ever thank liverpool for anything - although we have saved money not getting riera! DonKey
Both tossing themselves stupid over Berbatov and Robinho! Pricks! Still wondering if the club know as they've not managed to put it on OS. Edited September 2, 2008 by DonKey
adamefc1
Maybe the fact that Moyes and Co are in london could mean they havent been able to report it as of yet

barryj
I think we have paid over the top for him and would have rathered pay the extra for Moutinho. Still that said WE HAVE SIGNED SOMEONE!! Its on OS so I'm off to bed. We didn't quite get the 7 DM wanted!
DangerMouse
Thankyou!!!!!! we have no fucking money hey!!!!!!!!!! Nice to see the usual doom and gloom lot basically slagging the transfer....
tmaceverton404
15 million pounds this cost, Sporting was asking for 18 million. after the sale of Johnson surely there would have been some money to splash out, i just dont see why moyes didnt meet demands of sporting to get moutinho as apposed to this signing. none the less its a happy and welcomed signing
DangerMouse
This lad is one of the most highy rated young midfielders in Europe...... would you have picked out Moutino if we handt been in for him NO!!!!!!!!!!! Well done David Moyes Cheaper than Mountio too............ Edited September 2, 2008 by DangerMouse
12ubb3rduck
this guy is huge and adds the height and strength we need. mountinho wouldn't have added that. mountinho would have been a luxary imo this guy is a must!
troy8
very happy we signed him, would have liked moutinho but i believe this guy can do the job 1 question though, because hes already played for standard in the champions league, is he still cup tied to them and cant play uefa cup for us??? FromBelgium
If you are not sure you are stronger than your opponent, weaken him. That's football for you. From a Standard fan's point of view, I'm gutted, but fair play to the lad. And € 16m is simply too much money for a Belgian club to turn down. Most of our clubs don't have that money as a yearly budget. Deffo an excellent signing for Everton methinks, though, and certainly a big, big step forward in the big fella's career. He's young, he's a great athlete and strong in the air. He still has a lot to learn, especially with regards to keeping his cool on the pitch (too many bookings and red cards), but Everton have signed a damn of a prospect of a gem. Good luck to him. He's not allowed to play against his former club in the UEFA cup as they are engaged in the same competition. toffee77
Now IMO our best team is: -------------Howard------------ Nevile - Yobo - Jags - Lescott ------Castillo - Fellouini Arteta ----------------- Pienaar -------------Cahill-------------- -------------Yakubu-----------
Robledo
This lad is one of the most highy rated young midfielders in Europe...... how many of you had heard of the fella before his name was mentioned in recent days? Seems a good player by all accounts but the price tag is certainly steep for someone who is largely unproven
