jamiemaher85
This could be an interesting point for debate. Where do people stand on Tim Cahill at the moment? Would you put him staight back in or bench him? In my opinion I don't want to see him thrown striaght back in. We are performing well with the 442 now and Cahill can't fit into that. As much as I love the important goals he brings to the team you need to take off the blur tinted glasses and see that he brings very little else, and can actually detract from te midfield as it does take away what can be a better option. We're playing ok without him and I'm not sure i want him back straight away. As for the Bolton game, i can see a 2-1 win for us. Saha getting one. I just hope a good performaces is put in, hopefully this time we can perform for 90 minutes.
Romey 1878
As much as I love Cahill I'd start him from the bench. But Moyes will more than likely start him from the off and drop someone who has played well . 1-0 to us - The Yak getting back on the scoresheet
adamsmith69
No idea how this will go. I am hoping for a good peformance through out, not just 45 mins. I don't rate Bolton but they are usually very difficult to play against. I can see us just pipping them but wouldnt be surprised if we drew. Regarding Tiny Tim, i would maybe keep him on the bench, good option to have. I love him and do believe he is our most influential player but maybe we could bench him for this. jamiemaher85
I think Tim can occaisonally influence a game but is far from our most influential player. He is a great lad but his all round game is not good enough to warrent us structuring our whole game around him.
Everton-#1_Fan
yeh sorry bout that we have needed tim cahill over the last 3 wks considering he got the winning goal against stoke city + the red card for tim cahill wasn't a red card just had to add that..... + i still stand 3-1 against bolton
EFCfanatic
I don't think Moyes would put Timmy on the bench even though I think he should. Ossie may be the one to be dropped as he was not very impressive against manure. Score? 1-0 but could be a frustrating 1-1 grrrr
The Regulator
moyes is not a man to drop those playing poorly or reward those playing well. Howard will start in goals Hibbert will be RB even though hes shit, jags yobo and lescott fill out the back four even though baines should play Neville, Fellaini, Cahill, Arteta and Osman will make the midfield The Yak up front Bench: Nash, Baines, Castillo, Rodwell, Pienaar, Vaughan, Saha Moyes will automatically swicth to 4-5-1 because thats what he likes us playing, and he will try and make it work, Osman although he played poo will stay in teh team ahead of peinaar, and the yak who just isnt scoring will not score again. Second half 74th minute after conceeding a goal, moyes will bring saha and pienaar on for hibbert and osman, neville will go right back and saha will go upfront, we will dink a goal in around 79 and then if were lucky the 84th 2-1 win to us but not deserved because well play shit for 45 mins and people will then start worrying if we can beat fulham or not
Bill
He should play the same team that played Utd, But he wont. If as the Regulator says he goes with the 4-5-1 all he has to do is drop either the Yak (who as been shit) and bring in Cahill. He does'nt need to move Neville into midfield he plays much better at full back. If 4-4-2 the same as against Utd, with Cahill on the bench. If 4-5-1 it should be.............. /------------------------ HOWARD --------------------\ / -- NEVILLE --- YOBO --- JAGIELKA -- LESCOTT-- \ /-ARTETA - CAHILL - FELLAINI - OSMAN - PIENAAR -\ / -------------------- SAHA or YAKUBU -------------------\ But DM will probably astound us with his selection, he might even play Castillo.(no chance)
EFCfanatic
Regulator - I don'r see him dropping Pienaar if I'm honest he's been a real workhorse since he's been back, although Moysesy is full of suprises! A 4-4-2 vs United should definately mean a 4-4-2 vs notloB
The Regulator
personally im not comfortable with wasting 2 strikers where one will do, the problem isnt that saha or the yak cant score its that they dont get enough goal scoring opportunities, having a 4-5-1 means we can play a substanstial midfield and play better football, while 4-4-2 allows us space and time to defend as well as attack. The only problem with 4-5-1 compared to 4-4-2 is defensively, because usually the side midfielders play a lot higher up and they dont track back as much. I hope im wrong but moyes has used 4-5-1 a lot in the past and given we have 4 strikers compared to 7 midfielders hell want to bench saha probably due to his injury proneness and not field nich and vaughan because theyre still to young. I agree pienaar had been a bulldog ive just seen times in the past when people who work hard (baines, pienaar etc) have been passed over in favour of maintaing a certain balance. I just hope moyes really understands that we came back at united mainly after neville dug deep and hit that challenge, and that he needs to encourage his players to be powerful and aggresive on the pitch. Thats why people are afraid to play us, because in attack we have little creativity but a lot of power, and defensively we have players who will dig their studs in and hold them off. It isnt basketball after all, we need to go back to playing good old fashioned british " Come and have a go if you think i wont break your leg and give your sister a scabby rash" football. Jesse11
Yeh, i think the lineup will work but i was gonna send my formation into the everton site my formation from fifa 09 LOL Hahaha if only. That would be brilliant. I think we should play the same 4-4-2 as we did against Man U and swap Ossie for Cahill. I know Tim has looked far from impressive when played in the centre of midfield in the past but i think he needs to be given one final chance to prove himself there as he can have such an impact on the game. And anyone who saw how he played for Australia against Qatar during his suspension will tell you he is in some absolute ripper form, granted against crap oppostition but I still think if we are to play our best football he needs to start. jamiemaher85
Everyone has been criticising Osman's performance but I don't think he was that bad. He was playing a different game than usual. He was sitting very deep and actually helped to break up there play, especially in the second half. I'm not saying he was amazing but I don't think he was as bad as people are making him out to be. He was just being used in a different way than usual, and for the good of the team it worked. Jesse11
I don't think Ossie was that bad either but I desperately believe Cahill should be in the starting 11 so someone has to go.
jamiemaher85
I guess this is a nice problem to have. It certainly beats the beggining of the season when we manned the bench with a bunch of 12 year olds.
Blue4Ever
I suppose Osssie wernt that bad but I would like to see what Cahill & Fellaini can do in the middle.

If he goes for the 4-5-1 to bring in Cahill then Yakubu should be BENCHED, the lazy fooker hasnt scored for seven or it might be eight games. <_< AJ got slaughtered for not scoring for us but at least he ran his bollox off for the team, and he earned his money. pete0
howard neville yobo jags baines castillo pienaar cahill fellaini arteta saha lescott and yakubu need droppin, lescott looked like he'd never played football in his life against utd, and the yak only had a 5 min good spell. saha looks a quility signin, and fellaini was the best plyer on the pitch in the 2nd half. a reckon we'll win 3 or 4 nil with saha gettin 2, and hopefully/finally a clean sheet. kurt321
This would be my starting line up agianst Bolton. ......................Howard........................ Neville........ Jags .......Yobo ......Lescott Arteta...... Fellaini ......Osman ......Pienaar ........................Cahill........................ .........................Saha........................ Pienaar had a great game against man utd and Yak had a shocker as usual. So bring yak on for last 25 or so minutes. That should make him hungry. EFCfanatic
Moyes should most definately start Bainsey in front of Lescott tonight. Lescott just looks so nervous with the ball at his feet. You'd think he'd be full of it after last season. Yak and Saha upfront tonight please. Saha to break his duct. Adam
Would like to think that we will go on from the Man U result and get a good result to night but got a bad feeling about it that we not going to play well and lose 3 v 0 with a sending off for one of our players. Hope I am wrong and we go with an attacking line up. Would think that maybe Cahill will start on the bench and he will go with the same team against United after they played better in the second half and have Cahill come of the benhc
