He is now quotted as saying that he is aware of Evertons interest but he wants to stay and fight for his place until at least January

We should go for a pre-contract, and get first say come January. That would be a deal, if you dont start more than 10 games, you may have the option to go out on loan to EFC for the remainder of the season with a view to permanent :)

Everton Linked to Van Der Vaart; Again! VDV, for short, confirmed reports that Moyes tried to sign him in the Summer, but he wanted to fight for his place at Real Madrid. He did state however, that if he was not getting regular first team football, he would certainly consider a move away from the Bernabeu.

Although, where he would fit into the team is up for debate, with both Fellaini and Cahill ahead of him in the role behind the striker. The attacking midfielder is expected to fetch a fee of around £12m.

so what do you think guys

if, and i very big IF we somehow managed to get him, it wouldnt be a case of fitting him in, he would be first name on the team sheet. and rightly so, he is better than every single player we have.

Before Real Madrid were he was terrible he found it difficult to string together a consistent season at Hamburg and there is no doubt that he is fragile when it comes to injuries and such. Personally, I think he would have the most talent but then again his mate Andy had talent in bucket-loads too.

I do love him as a player but someone to rely on for a team which plays more defensively and has a weak squad? I dunno.

Agreed, but there is no point in signing him as the ball will never go through the midfield under Moyes hoof ball system.
