Matt
The draw is tonight apparently, 1st game to be in week commencing 22nd August. Hoping we get a home game because I might be able to go to that! Anyone you want to get / avoid?

I'd take them http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/14368399.stm Crystal Palace's match against CrawleyTown has been postponed on police advice. Not sure if this was a League Cup game or not... I would like one of the Championship teams to be honest - not a team that we should walk over in L1 or L2 and not a premiership team. codders78
To be utterly selfish, either of the Bristol clubs away. So I dont have to travel too far. Probably Rovers because my missus is a Bristol City fan and it may not be worth the grief, win or lose

Couldnt care less I wont be wasting any of my hard earned cash on it We will put a weakened side out and suffer yet another embarrassing defeat to a lower division side. If the club cant be arsed to take it seriously why should I?
StevO
I don't think moyes often weakens the side too much for these games. We don't have enough players to weaken.
Hafnia
The quality difference of a few first teamers being rested is how close we are to being relegation fodder with a few more injuries. With arteta and Coleman out, Saha never certain, fellaini still not 100% we are in a bad place. We have no quality backup, only kids. I hardly think an extra six or seven games is going to turn us into relegation fodder Its our best chance of silverware and our best chance of European football so I would rather we took a chance and tried to win it

Matt
24th August confirmed, think I can go to this one Everton's Carling Cup game against Sheffield United will take place on Wednesday 24 August, with kick off at 8pm. The two sides will face off at Goodison Park after being paired in Thursday night's second round draw. Ticket details will be announced on evertonfc.com as soon as possible. Thirteen Premier League clubs enter the competition at the second round stage, and matches are due to be played in the week commencing 22 August. This is the fourth time Everton have been drawn against Sheffield United in the League Cup, having met in the 1977/78, 1984/85 (over two legs), and 1990/91 seasons. The two sides have also met six times in the FA Cup - with Everton winning twice and losing four times. Everton last met Sheffield United in the Premier League in the 2006/07 season, where former Blades manPhil Jagielka featured in both games against the Blues. Everton won their Goodison Park meeting 2-0 in October 2006 with Mikel Arteta and James Beattie on the scoresheet, while the trip to Bramall Lane in March 2007 finished 1-1, with Arteta netting the goal. http://www.evertonfc.com//news/archive/2011/08/12/carling-cup-date-confirmed?utm_source=rss_everton&utm_medium=rss_feed&utm_term=Carling+Cup+Date+Confirmed Edited August 12, 2011 by Matt
