Zoo
Well done Kane, all correct - I must apologise about the delay due to college work and the semi final today, I'll have a new question up quite soon. Thanks for taking part and well done for getting them all. Dalziel Kane
Could you do me a favor kid and address me correctly, it's not much to ask. I don't know much about Dutch soccer so will have to pass on this, I was thinking local rivals such as Belgium, Germany, France etc but it's just stabs in the dark here. Guest Nikica
Zoo's Question of the Day Round 24: Name the four clubs that Martin O'Neill has managed since 2000 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - John Heitinga question is still live too due to server problems - have a guess at it! Celtic Aston Villa Sunderland No idea who the other is, I know he managed Leicester but wasn't that before 2000? I won't even attempt to answer the Heitinga question, I watch a lot of international football but naming 7 countries he has scored against is too difficult. Zoo
You've given me three answers Nikica and all of them are correct, well done to you! I'll be giving out clues for the Heitinga question in a second so that people can have a decent chance of answering them. John Heitinga clues; Goal 1: This goal was scored against the Euro 2004 champions. Goal 2: Rafael Marquez is their captain at present. Goal 3: They eat cats in this country... I think. Goal 4: Slaven Bilic! Goal 5: Red/White/Red flag (European). Goal 6: Flag consists of a yellow sun on a red background (was in England's European group a while back). Goal 7: This country's biggest defeat came in 2006 when Germany beat them at home 13-0. Their biggest win of all time is 1-0 against Lichtenstein which came in a friendly. Guest Nikica
Thanks. Just seen your clues: 1) Greece 2) Mexico 3) Eat cats LOL? No idea, At a guess, Japan 4) Croatia 5) Austria 6) I'm normally good with flags but this isn't ringing a bell... 7) San Marino? Either them or the Faroes, will go with the former

Thailand and Macedonia are the two nations that you are missing off your list, but well done for getting as many as you did. Zoo
Cheers. The clues made the answers I got too easy though. They were supposed to be, I'd rather have someone guess the answers then leave them as unanswered. As the quiz has been open for a few weeks I decided to give away the answers rather than cancel it, I guess it was a bad mix of a hard question and forum problems. Zoo
Zoo's Question of the Day Round 25: Name the five players that have won the Ballon d'Or whilst playing for Read Madrid C.F 1 - Luis Figo (correctly answered by Dalziel Kane). 2 - Ronaldo (correctly answered by Dalziel Kane). 3 - Di Stefano (correctly answered by Dalziel Kane). 4 - Fabio Cannavaro (correctly answered by Nikica). 5 - Raymond Kopa (correctly answered by Nikica). Dalziel Kane
Ronaldo (Portugal) , Zidane, Figo, Ronaldo (Brazil), Hugo Sanchez maybe how far does this go back, maybe Gento, Puskas, Di Stefano, that player they had in the 1980s , Buetrangeuno (can't spell the damn name) too possibly. Zoo
I'll keep this short because the site is being a right dickhead for me. You've guessed 3 out of the 5 answers correct which is good going and to answer your question the Ballon d'Or started in 1956 meaning that you'll need to look from there onwards to get the right answer. If nobody has the answer by tonight-ish I'll post the time period that the awards were earned to help out people. Dalziel Kane
They weren't really guesses some of them, I would have been very confident with the three answers above but not 100 per cent for sure., I can only guess the others however, hands up I don't know, I was thinking all names from Laurie Cunningham to Fernando Hierro. and how on earth did Zidane not win this award, who does the judging on these damn things. Hierro, Cunningham, Anelka, maybe, it was worth a try.
Zoo
Nope. One of the winners won it in 1958 with Di Stefano winning it in 1957 and 1959. The other answer that you are looking for is a recent one, he won it in 2006. That's your clues for today, if the answers are found then I'll have to end the quiz un-finished. Zoo
Nikica is right with Cannavaro (well done). The last one you need to get is a Frenchman that played in the same team as Di Stefano. Zidane did win it, but all his awards came in his time at Juventus, I think. Also correct. Zidane also won 'Footballer of the Year' whilst at Real Madrid, just never the Ballon d'Or. Dalziel Kane
Last attempts at these. In no order but from what I can imagine - James McGrory (all time scorer I'm thinking) James Johnstone Billy McNeill Danny McGrain Robert Lennox maybe Bertie Auld, Paul McStay, Roy Aitken maybe but doubtful. c1982
Schevchenko and maybe Rebrov too - can't name too many Poles other than Robert Warzycha (and his brother) of course!!!
Zoo
Shevchenkho and Rebrov are correct but thats about all! I'll have to admit that the Poland answers are quite tricky because they all have similar sounding names. If you want to scroll a little further up the thread the 'Celtic scorers' question is still open for the time being due to the forum server changes, if nobody gets it by tonight I'll leave it as unanswered. Well done though (good to see you back).
