They've did this before in a sense, as over the last ten years or so at tournaments you often see a team play in their lighter or darker away strip even if there's no kit clash - it's to do with people in the developing world having black and white TVs apparently. Germany's new kit has white shorts, ditto Colombia and Argentina etc. So it appears that countries are having to break with tradition due to this.
