badaids Posted October 26, 2013 Report Share Posted October 26, 2013 I've been reading a book called the Number Game, a statistical look at football (and which by the way, picks out Martinez as a manger that ruthlessly and cunningly turns the stats to advantage). Statistically, 55% possessions is most likely yo win you the game, anything higher than that and you are actually more likely to lose a game than win, if I recall correctly. Another interesting point, is that corners have almost no effect on a game: it takes on average just under 100 corners to produce a goal. Freaky stuff. We're getting exposed badly though. I think he was, (the lino wasn't level either) but they didn't show a replay. Very soft penalty I thought. Only one man in it for MOTM at the mo though! Mirallas has been ok, almost scored but should really be doing alot more. To stand in an off side position when Everton take a free kick is just sloppy. Howard motm so far. He just seems forget he has team mates everytime he has the ball in that area outside of the box and only looks for a shot, not just today but every game so far.
