Vdm

By all accounts he tourmented the full backs for 90 mins.

First up, he actually lasted 90 mins, and from the pictures we've seen hes lost the pounds.

I was told by my uncle, he knows alot of the staff from Bellefield, from the interview where he was talking about his drink problem, he's barely missed a day, training on his own if he had to, working with the injured lads, doing all he can to get fit.

ive gained a little respect back for him now, if hes tryin as hard as ive heard then im looking forward to seein him pay us back this season.

just thought id share that with you guys

If VDM does get manage to stay injury free in the main, and we have a bit of luck injury wise.

Our biggest down fall last season was really poor start, and general lack of goals.

A fit VDM on the left, Arteta on the right, and Cahill supproting AJ and Beattie thorugh the middle. That looks like a attacking formation that will get us a few goals. With McFadden and the youngsters on the bench.

As some have said VDM if fit will very much be like a new signing, and he does have the talent to potentially be a very good one. Fingers crossed.

OK I saw the game...VDM was OK, promising but lets not get ahead of ourselves. a. We were only playing port vale, the weather was hot and nobody was really pushing themselves.

I was more worried about Beattie! He looked unfit and for lack of a better phrase looked as though he couldn't be arsed. OK pre season friendly but I think we should stick with Anchiebe and Johnson up front for the preston game.

What challange on his ankle???? IF he sitting out maybe will have time to sign the contract

Wier got skinned early on and just looked at Yobo as if to say HELP so joey ran the width of the pitch and made a last ditch callenge hurting his ankle in the process.

It highlighted to me last night that Wier's lack of pace is getting worse and players have to stretch to help him out which could lead to injurys, goals or gaping holes in the middle of defence if he plays much this season.

Been speaking to a bloke who manages a kids team in Kirkby today too and Hughes our young center half has a younger brother who plays for him. Apparently Moyes will not play any of the kids unless the pressure to put them in gets massive, i guess we had all worked that out but we have some talented youngsters coming through so it begs the question why is he being allowed to let them rot or move on?

Surely someone at the club needs to have a word with our Davey before the season starts he did his usual trick last night too with the subs. Kit off and warmed up and he left them standing on the line for 5mins or more, surely he realises in that time a players muscles are cooling back down????

Wake up David these are things we all see so why dont you?

Firstly,

If Lescott is fit and Yobo - they will be the centre of defence with the occassional inclusion of either stubbs or weir (both are too old, but stubbs can do a better job).

Secondly VDM - this is pre-season. If someone has so much as a twisted sock Moyes aint gonna risk them after what happened with Kroldrup last year. (assuming that he WAS injured).

I don't reckon that VDM has anything serious - I will be gutted if he has.

Who remembers Paul McGrath - his knees where so bad that he only trained every other day to keep fit - but he was a good player.

Perhaps VDM will have to have a similar routine. training to keep fit only, playing practice games only once or twice a week to keep sharp.

What Irvine says is true - he does strike a ball hard - his crosses are whipped in at great pace rather than floated in like artetas - and the premiership/Everton needs the pace on the ball. Beattie needs crosses like that. VDM hits it so hard that the ball stays at a jumpable height and doesn't start high so that the striker has to wait for it to come down, giving the defender a chance. Fast balls, at constant height means that the striker can attack the ball and force it towards goal with pace...not many goalies can handle it!!!

I hope it is just a bit of a scare and that nothing has come of it...but...normally when it gets onto the official website early on, its preparing us for the shock!
