Louis Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 This kicks off in under an hour. It seems like a long way to go for one friendly game. Starting XI: Joel, Hibbert, Distin, Duffy, Garbutt, McCarthy, Barry, McGeady, Naismith, Osman, Pienaar To our American friends, 'Leicester' is pronounced the same as 'Lester', not 'Lie-cester'. Quote

Probably due to our ties with Thailand (pardon the aweful pun). I dont know why liecester though. Quote
Louis Posted July 27, 2014 Author Report Posted July 27, 2014 (edited) Leicester are sponsored by a Thai bookmaker duty free store (King Power), we are sponsored by a Thai brewery. Edited July 27, 2014 by Louis Quote
benpicko Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 Leicester are sponsored by a Thai bookmaker (King Power), we are sponsored by a Thai brewery. They're a duty free company and their owners also own Leicester. They're the ones who set the match up for their 25th anniversary. Also, Leicester's line-up is this: Schmeichel, Konchesky, De Laet, Moore, Morgan, Albrighton, Knockaert, Drinkwater, James, Ulloa, Nugent Which isn't our strongest, but I expect Vardy, Mahrez, and Schlupp to come on for Nugent, Albrighton, and Konchesky respectively at some point through the match Quote
Kohen Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 Heading through Bangkok airport they have a stand full of leicester merch! Seems so oddly placed! Aidan 1 Quote

Provisionally have Morgan and Drinkwater; does that sound like a good idea or should I be looking elsewhere? Quote

Shukes Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 Mcgeady looking sharp again. Such a positive player. Quote
Steve_E Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 A good delivery from Garbutt again on the free kick. McGeady shown his 1v1 skills. Pienaar playing well. Duffy did well defending in our own box a while ago. Heading away a cross, then blocking the shot. Quote
Steve_E Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 (edited) It'd be nice if we could play in Garbutt once in a while so he can put a cross in rather than that we keep trying to play a hard through ball through the middle. Edited July 27, 2014 by Steve_E Quote
Aidan Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 Watching a friendly is like being a heroin addict and taking some methadone to cure a fix. Its football but it just dosnt give me that hit. And as much as I love snods, I dont like him commentating. Quote
Steve_E Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 Very good finish from Nugent, but offside. Quote
Aidan Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 Nugent produces an absolutely stunning finish on the volley from over his shoulder into the very top corner of Joel's goal. Offside though. Shame for him it was gorgeous. Quote
Aidan Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 Robles is still looking very very... shit. Quote
Steve_E Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 Robles is still looking very very... shit. Osman sloppy as well. Quote
Blueherts Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 (edited) Duffy proving to be a liability as well. sadly i just don't think he has enough to cut it at the highest level. Edited July 27, 2014 by Blueherts Quote
Romey 1878 Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 I don't know how anyone can be watching this and be content to wait for Lukaku (or whoever) until deadline day. Quote
Steve_E Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 Alcaraz, Stones, Browning, Gibson and Long on? Quote
Shukes Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 Were not playing too well. Getting opened up real easy. Not very effective the other side either. Early days though and many players not here. Quote
Aidan Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 Currently struggling to hold any sort of possesion. Hanvn't really got in it their final 3rd this half so far. Quote
Steve_E Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 1-0 Leicester. Horrible goalkeeping from Robles. Quote
Shukes Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 Always coming. We have been looking pretty poor. Not enough creativity on the pitch now osman and Pienaar are off. Midfield is very weak for us at the moment. Quote
Steve_E Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 Garbutt so far (72 minutes played) the only youngster to have shown anything positive imo. Quote
Steve_E Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 Too bad Robles signed a five-year contract last year. Quote
Aidan Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 Even though its a friendly it is still extremeley frustraiting to see how much we're giving possession away. We're literally passing it to blue shirts. Think theyre all confused with this new black kit. Quote
