Bill
There's not many better finishes than Rooney, and if he's not in the e babox he's not gonna score as he doesn't have the legs to play 90 minutes in midfield getting up and down. I'd instruct him not to leave the 18 yard box. That wouldn't help much Pete, he'd run himself ragged chasing the ball across the pitch when the opposition are playing out from the back. He's one of the best penalty box strikers since Van Nistelrooy but likes to get involved too much. If he stays in the area he will get 20+ goals. MikeO
He was so much better in the second half when he had runners in front of him. I didn't see a lot of the second half, I was doing my normal of pacing around the house, glancing at the screen, doing some washing up or a bit of light DIY; hate being 1-0 up (may have mentioned it before ), my heart can't take it. I'm more relaxed if we're losing :dont know:. That said I'm fine if I'm at the game, ridiculous notion that somehow you have a bit of influence I guess whereas 250 miles away I'm powerless. BlueAnnapolisUSA
Pickford made a world class save. Aside from that gobbled up everything that came in that box which is easier said than done against Stoke. Great decision making and a taster of why he will be out most important signing. But Rooney, bare in mind I'm not his biggest fan, absolutely ran the game today. He did everything to the absolute highest of standards and was the focal point of everything going forward. Absolute composure, perfect decision making, good technique, got his goal (keeper could have done better, but would have done well to; but never the less a great header,he had to generate his own power on it and place it well) but on top of all that put in a great shift defensively and also defended really well from set pieces. I didn't want him, I slagged him off and had a big problem with his past, but I can't doubt his performance today. Next level from him today. Beyond perfectly put. Cheers mate.
