thebluenose Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 (edited) now according to football rich list BK is worth fuck all compared to our very own shareholder robert earl. who is ATM worth 210million pounds. robert earl is a businessman and knows how to make profits and turnovers. of course him along with sly, bruce willis and the governator founded a restaurant chain worth billions of dollars. now if he were to sell his shares in planet hollywood or even sell the company that will increase his wealth and therefore a viable source to buy a majority of shares in the club. therefore BK can be a normal fan of Everton. we will have a proper chairman in the club who has money to use. and of course being a buisnessman he can easily find ways of generating profits. Romey 1878 Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 You're relying on Earl wanting to piss his money up the wall though, he's only bought into the club because he's BK's friend so he's not going to take it off him. Quote
Andy Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 i reckon we just start pestering rupert murdoch Quote
StevO Posted December 10, 2006 Report Posted December 10, 2006 you got it wrong mate, the £210m is not in the bank, that is what he has in the bank + any shares in companies + property/assets, all worked out on a scale of liquidity (how fast i can be generated into cash) have my money in cash rich companies and casinos and hotels, or a football club??? KillaGTiR Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 rupert murdoch is the guy we need to buy the club and pump money into us Quote
fcssl Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 however it happens, I just hope that it can happen sooner rather than later. the distance being put against the mega-rich clubs to the likes of Everton is getting more vast by the day. Quote

According to some people on this board its not..we're making steady progress a bit like you make steady progress on the bog when your constipated but steady none the less. I however like to live in the real world and we're being left behind mainly becuase of BULLSHIT BILLYS dream of owning the club. Quote

BLUE-TAC Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 - and he's a blue (or at least says he is)?! Gettin back to the first post, I think Earl is only on board as a bit of a side-hobby knowing he's unlikely to make a penny but also knowing he's helping out a mate and who knows, miracles do happen so can't see him doin any more than he has already. Pat Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 Have heard Maca say, when he was a young man he follwoed Everton, However these days he is not really in to football. Back to the Branson & Gates theories chaps. If Murdoch bought us thatd be it 4 me. Quote
java2001e Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 a takeover is probably NOT going to happen. despite our history, (which means nothing to a businessman), we are simply not an attractive enough economic prospect for a takeover. and we dont have the element of glamour to attract the other type of buyer. as bk said at the agm last week, "If the man comes along with the money, I’ll be gone, I’ll be sitting with you." well i dont see a queque to buy Everton, and i think it likely thats the way it will stay. there is no easy way or shortcuts for mid-table sides like Everton, (and weve only just become a mid-table side after years of being relegation fodder) to develop into a top 4 side. and those bellyachers and whiners who claim that there is, are simply immature and out of touch with reality. they are like kids who want to open their xmas presents before xmas day. our history is nice but it doesnt give us the right to be in the top four. we have to earn that all over again. its the nature of the game and sport that you have ups and downs. when i started to support Everton liverpoo were a second division side! lets get real and get a grip on reality. hoping for a fairy godmother is for losers, like those poor bastards whose only ambition is to win the lottery. Quote
StevO Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 BK had at least 3 calls from people who were interested in buying the club last season before xmas (when we were down the bottom) he did not return one call. that information was passed down to corporate fans by some of the staff who were sacked in the summer for the new regime, but they told people this when they were still working there before the end of last season, when i first posted this. to me java you seem to always support everything that happens at the club, beleiving everything BK says, no either you havent been to Goodison in a while and cant see that somethin at board level stinks, and has for years, or you are BK himself. dont you have any ambition for the club? im only 22, so i didnt see our glory years, but when i talk to my dad and uncles it upsets me to think what i missed. im not even sure if we are a "sleeping giant" anymore, its been 11 years since we won a trophy! i was chuffed when we finished 4th, until i realised, we are one of the most successful english clubs of all time, 4th should be our bare minimum! MikeO Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 True enough. If you seriously want to buy a premier league football club it'd take a little more than an unreturned phone call to put you off. If you want to buy a house, phone the estate agent, leave a message then don't get your call returned you don't say, "Oh fuck, I'm not going to be able to buy that house." Quote

Romey 1878 Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 How did you find this out mate? Not questioning you, just curious Quote
StevO Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 my uncle's company is one of our corporate clients. also one of the major food suppliers to the corporate facilities for over ten years, so he has had a lot to do with the staff in the club, on many levels. not that the club has its own staff anymore, they sacked people who have worked for the club for 40 years for the sake of saving a bit of money, but they lost a quite a few of the corporate clients due the sacking of the staff who looked after them and their guests for years. Romey 1878 Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 Has he got any more insider info, or let anything else slip? Quote
StevO Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 since the new regime came in word doesnt get round, as the staff work for an agency, not the club. he knew what happened with Scot Parker a couple of days before he turned us down. and he knew we would go over £5m for AJ when it looked like we wouldnt increase the bid to £8.5m oh, i nearly forgot, he did hear that the was a few clauses in the Tim Howard loan deal, regarding future deals, but nothin more than that Quote

StevO Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 (edited) Everton wouldnt pay his wages, he wanted to play for Everton, got on well with DM too. but we wanted to keep it below £40k, i think hes getting about £60k at Newcastle isnt he? just makes me think hes a bit of a mercenary now thou Edited December 19, 2006 by StevO Quote
Romey 1878 Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 Im glad we didnt go above 40K for him but our midfield would have been fucking awesome if we had him wouldnt it Quote
