savage9640
Everton are on the brink of landing Porto midfielder Luis Gonzalez for £10million. (Daily Express) has anyone else heard anything about this yet and anyone no much about the player also says (And Toffees boss David Moyes could add to that signing with a swoop for Wigan left-back Leighton Baines. ih8reds4eva
The Daily Post has reported today that EFC have tabled a £10 million offer for FCPorto midfielder Gonzalez. The bid will be part funded by the sale of BT which apparently went through last night! Is this just more mind games from Kenwright and Wyness to keep KEIOC's proposals of the back page? Or has Kenwright finally got his thumb out his ar*e
Inca85
£10 mill for another midfielder is a waste of money!
Adam
How can they look at siging a midfielder when we just sold a striker and another striker is out injured. Never heard of him though
Foxon
Fuck that off 10mill and we cant offer 6m for smith or baines if we cant bid 6 mill for smith or baines what makes you think we can pay 10mill for a midfielder
RoGuEAuDiO
i just seen this on sky sports news , its abit of a wild buy lol
Blue4Ever
£10 mill for another midfielder is a waste of money! Even though it is probly bullshit, do you now how good this lad is, he's about Mikels class but plays center midfield. Bring him in I say. KillaGTiR
i think this is the player that bill was on about he looks class Edited August 4, 2007 by KillaGTiR
Blue4Ever
If we can afford him get him, Real Madrid wanted him so that just makes you think he's class, I reckon if BT goes we should spend out on 1 quality player like Mikel so he doesnt have to do everything when where playing. If skysports have it up on there site later there could be some truth but other than that it could be bullshit.
Luq101
Listen carefully people, IT IS ABSOLUTE BOLLOCKS! We struggled to sign Vogel for one million, let alone bid ten for Luis. It is another 'False Flag' bid from Everton, and I am fed up with this club treating us like lemmings! KENWRIGHT OUT!
Blue4Ever
Im starting to think there is money there but moyes is being to tight with it, Baines is a signing we need but if we did sign a player like Luis id be made up..
Louis
I can see it as a ploy to keep press coverage on Everton and not the Keioc exhibition.
Foxon
we dont really need this guy but i would like him here. baines deffo, another striker then we can start thinking about gettin other players in.
Bill
If we have money like that to spare, why not Fernandes.??
Blue4Ever
^^ My thoughts exactly...
Romey 1878
He's a class player but with the vote approaching I think it's a ploy to get supporters on the boards side. I would be VERY surprised if anything came of this.
Adams
I havnt seen much of him so i cant comment on his ability. But Fernandes is younger would be available for the same price -- so why not Fernandes. I think this is a false story.

GoldfishMemory
Why would we bid 10mil for a midfielder with only 2 fit strikers at the club?? Assuming Beattie does move of course!
efccrusher
we dont really need this guy but i would like him here. baines deffo, another striker then we can start thinking about gettin other players in. You've got to be kiddin, Cahill out for 6+ weeks and on top of this i have always felt we lacked a quality addition to the centre of the park who has the ability to dictate play, spread the ball around and be in general just a class act. We couldn't need this guy more, he is a class player and would improve the team 100%. I would take anyone that meant not having to play both carsley and neville in midfield together which imo is disastorous.
savage9640
^^^^^ i agree mate we need class in our team would love to see us passing it well and being nice to watch not scrapy
Foxon
i meant we dont need him here as much as we need a striker we only got 2 fit proper strikers.
Adam
Its going to be very interesting if as I think there are no new signings in before the vote is done on the stadium. I think the club have to bring in a couple of decent players before then or the fans will show there anger towards the club when it comes to the vote. Bill
i meant we dont need him here as much as we need a striker we only got 2 fit proper strikers. Dont forget "GOAL OF THE SEASON" McFaddy and Lukas and Agaard. Yes we Deffo need another one.
Foxon
i wouldnt really call mcfaddy a striker more like attacking midfielder(jack of all trades), lukas is a bit young as is agard to play in europe.
Inca85
I don't mind him joining us at all... he's a world class player. my worry is with the money. if we can afford him, Baines AND a decent striker as well.. nothing would be better :-)
Ash_
what's wrong with the 4-5-1. i know we still have no decent backup for AJ until Vaughan gets back but AJ should be able to stay fit and injury free till then i think/hope. eventually, Cahill up behind AJ, Arteta on the left, Osman on the right, this Gonzalez guy in the middle and Carsley playing as a holding midfielder. im all for this signing, hopefully it's not bullshit.
