  1. I once had a girlfriend whose mother's dentist had an Irish setter, so if I was American that would make me a true son of the Emerald Isle. I also used to like Guinness . Sadly though, today I will be mostly staying sober .
  2. http://evertonfc.com/news/archive/fa-cup-o...le-details.html "Priority will be given to the most loyal fans and that means every Season Ticket holder and Executive member will be given the opportunity to purchase a ticket for the Blues' first FA Cup semi-final appearance in 14 years." Rightly so; "spares" could be a rare commodity .
  3. Good stuff....keep 'em coming I say. Little point in questions that can be googled .
  4. Oooh....yer sooooo pedantic . He's the only golfer to have played in every WGC event....I thought everyone knew that . And the last animal to be sold at the Appleby Horse Fair last year was called Dobbin and he went for £125.99 .
  5. Appleby! Amazing how the offer of a trophy (in the other thread) concentrates the mind ! Hand me the silverware! Fourth is for losers .
  6. Paul Eddington is the deceased Good Life star. He played Jerry Leadbetter and David Leadbetter is the golfing coach who's produced many World Golf Champions . Or am I getting mixed up .
  7. Are you going Iggy? 45mins down the A3, done the journey myself many times . Not to see football though, Pompey were never in the top flight back then.
  8. Tom Watson on Tiger Woods' return from injury at the World Champs.... “He’s the draw, the stud, the marquee player, he’s the top dude and without him there’s a vacuum,” ...grasping at straws here .
  9. ....and now Warnock's looking at sueing Wham. Long way from over it seems . http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...utd/7947535.stm
  10. Accenture, who are one of the World Golf Championship's sponsors, also sponsor UK show jumping (Christmas puissance at Olympia for one). Doesn't quite work as an answer to the question though sadly <_< .
  11. Wheater's far too ugly, would put a serious blot on the team photo. We can just about cope with Hibbo & Pip....Wheater's a step too far :weird:. I'd take Johnson & Johnson though .
  12. Thanks for sharing Jim (remind me not to ask if I can borrow your ruler ). I just used Pythagoras' Theorum to stake out my cabin's footprint....Mr Chipping (my maths teacher) told me it'd come in useful one day....just took thirty-five years !
  13. Is Tattersalls involved ? (That's the extent on my horse dealing knowledge)
  14. What I said was that during the last six games we'd made up six points on them by getting eleven to their five .
  15. I'm more confident about this one than I have been about any game for a while. Think Pompey are looking very weak and don't have the spirit of teams like Stoke. 2-0 Jo and Cahill. We owe them as well.
  16. I am crying with laughter. Love it.
  17. Good question, hadn't thought of that. Looked it up, we've earned £775,000 in prize money so far, guaranteed another £500,000 even if we were to lose to ManU. If we were to win it'd be £1m and then the final winners get another £2m, runners-up £1m. Useful money but not a patch on the Champs League. The problem with going for the Europa next season, which as has been said we'd have a chance of winning with a bit of luck and form, is that it'll take nineteen games to achieve that. That's an extra half season, with our squad size? League form would definitely suffer. Better for me to go into the Champs League group stage, earn the money, get knocked out so we can concentrate on our league position and use the money to increase squad size and quality for a serious go at Europe in the following years. Simple .
  18. Darkism alert! Not the time to be messing with the formation....would be madness in my view .
  19. Rather than "Cleese" sounding like "cheese" it's more likely to be this...
  20. Had to go out and finish knocking down my shed....sledge-hammer style....very satisfying . A great win though, extremely enjoyable.
  21. Really? They're looking like losing to Spurs which means we'll have picked up six points on them in the last six games (11 to 5). They'll be four points ahead of us with a very slightly better goal difference and trips to Anfield and Old Trafford in their next two games....while we play at Pompey and at home to Wigan. Given current form they're going to pick up a big fat zero from their next two so, if we can pick up four points, we'll be ahead of them on gd. Seemed unlikely on Friday but all of a sudden it's a big possibility imo.
  22. Hilarious. He needs some sort of action taking. And Diouf needs a bloody good kicking, as does Allerdyce for saying he didn't think it was red.
