Game of Thrones

Recommended Posts

On too late for me to follow it properly, I've lost a few of the many sub plots. Need to watch end of season 2 again.

Read somewhere that there are more than a thousand individual characters in the booksohmy.png .

Is the third season any good? Is it based on the third book?

I am working my way through the books, the first two are brilliant, the third more heavy going, and the fourth is just so dull... 300 pages in out of 1000 and nothing is happening, with a load of characters that no-one gives a shit about - I'm really struggling.

How on earth are they going to make series of the fourth book?

I sometimes lose concentration just looking at Lena Headey, she's outstanding. Absolute bombshell.

if shes more naked Id probably start watching again sooner! Her and the blond, blue eyed dragon queen, absolutely stonking!

It's her "posh" accent that does it for me. I have a bit of a thing for women who speak well.

Love Dany. She is stunning. Saw a picture of her with her natural brown hair and she doesn't look half as good.

Tyrion a great character they have cast and scripted him perfectly, there are a fair few but He's the one when you look back on the series that will probably come to mind first.

"The Lord of Light wants his enemies burnt. The Drowned God wants his enemies drowned. Why are all the gods such vicious cunts? Where is the god of tits and wine?"

They have just finished writing the first two episodes of season four so it's great to know it's more then likely going to follow the books in terms of numbers.

The fourth and fifth books run concurrently in time and a lot more of the fan favourite characters are in the fifth books, so that's going to be something that's a lot better paced in the series.

I think she has a weird face tbh.

Really? Its not perfect but its not wonky

Edit, just did a google image search and she does seem to pull a funny face in a lot of pictures.

I did think she looked good in game of thrones though. Never actually seen her in anything else

I've never seen this program and even the title made me slightly angry but it's been impossible to avoid any information given away at some stage or another. I think I have a good understanding of what occurs and the scenarios, sex and violence is all very well, but I prefer one thing at a time. This isn't even on terrestrial television ? and saw it on Sky listings, but we can't get the channel in question. It really is no great loss I think.

So why even read and comment in a thread about it? Just a need to express yourself? Theres thousands of threads here, why not stick to those that you actually have an opinion about? Would make the forum much more enjoyable for you.

I am now 500 pages through the 4th book, and literally NOTHING has happened. NOTHING. It has to be the biggest let down I've ever read. Even if the 4th and 5th books are concurrent, how on earth will they find material in the 4th. How is the third series going on TV?

He's not without redeeming character traitssmile.png . A lot of the "bad guys" in it have a decent streak...Joffrey aside!

Jaime got off on a bad foot in GoT. However, as things go on, you learn about his motivations and why he does some of his things, and you start to learn that he's actually a decent enough person and one of the most likeable characters, well for me anyway. That's one of the things I like about GoT. There are very very few really baddies, and the same for the goodies... 90% of the characters, objectively, can justify their actions - no matter how brutal. There are very few 'evil' or 'good' characters. Jaime is a good example of a 'baddie' not actually being that bad, and Robert Baratheon an example of a 'goodie' who is not actually that good.

Hes still shagging his sister.

Nobody's perfectshaking%20fist.png !

(And keeping it in the family has been standard practice in the British aristocracy for centuries....it's Martin being true to lifetongue.png)

He is. This is of course incest, which he knows is 'wrong', by most societies norms inclduing his own, but the book also acknowledges that incest was fairly commonplace until only recently especially among noble families . But this incest is 'only' borne of his overwhelming love for his sister - it drives his 'wrong' acts, few as they are. It is only once his sister Cersei, starts to become genuinely 'evil' and despotic that Jaime can seperate himself for his desire from her, and from this point onwards, he becomes a rather contrite, positive and well meaning character. He's generally quite a 'good' person, driven towards brutal acts by his bad situation, borne of his love for his sister.

With all the characters, plots..... sounds like this is set to disappear up its own arse.... as Lost did.

I can't see that happening to be honest the way they switch stories is subtle and the strange and odd plot of Lost was bound to fail from the start and it never drew me in like GOT has.

It won't be long before each sub plot start to merge and it will all come together.

Is Game of Thrones any good? People raving about it from what I've read but it just doesn't appeal to me. I don't like fantasy and for instance I didn't like the first Lord of The Rings so haven't watched the others. Is someone else like me where you thought you wouldn't like it but pleasantly surprised?

Based on what you've said I wouldn't recommend you give it a go.

Great episode and was not expecting the last ten minutes to happen....bastards I liked Robs character :(

I've had to refrain from the dedicated wiki page as I'm getting ahead on the story line and character plots.
