Great game that albeit probably not one for the purists! I definitely think that was a fair result too, even if the ref was hopelessly one sided at times.

The players gave that a really good go today and win, lose or draw you cant really ask too much more than that. I thought Moyes put out the best team available in their best positions as well. Some of the players in the 2nd half were brilliant, namely Jags, Distin, Coleman and Felli. Barkley was doing well until he came off too.

Credit goes to Arsenal as well. When they arent up for it they can be bullied out of the game but when they do have that bit between their teeth they are a very good team and we matched and probably just about bettered them for 70mins until we ran out of steam and they stepped up a gear at the end.

The only negatives for me would be the lack of input from the whole left hand side. That was probably as bad as I have seen Baines play this season and Pienaar wasnt much better. I would give Oviedo the run out in our next game ahead of him. Vic was too easily brushed off the ball at times and he could never get control of it. He did work his arse off though. With Moyes, I think the first sub was wrong. I can understand Ross coming off but I would have liked to have seen the pace of Oviedo on the wing with Pienaar shifting centrally. The latter may have at least got on the ball then and helped us keep hold of it. The last two subs took an age to come on as well but other than that it was a really great performance from all concerned. We might not be able to get 4th but if we play like that until the end of the season we will give those above us a bit of a scare!

This is what makes being an Evertonian brilliant.

Any other situation, I'd be stoked with a draw away to Aresnal. But at this point of the season, we can't afford to be dropping points. Going to have to get a result against Liverpool and Chelsea, not to mention not drop points to anyone along the way.

It'd be cooler if we'd already qualified and it was a dead game .

Chelsea don't have an easy schedule at all. Man City, @ Liverpool, and @ Man U. It's unlikely, but if things work out in our favor we could end up playing Chelsea in the last game of the season for a CL spot. How cool would that be?

    Lazy journalism.

There is not one quote from Jelavic and most of the story has quotes from Heitinga in it. I'd only believe this article if Jelly himself has come out and said something which he hasn't. The celebration after the Manchester City goal proved he has tons of passion for the club and I can't see him leaving.

The problem wasn't today, it was games like 3-3 against Villa.

Donovan is the main reason why I began watching Everton and I am a bit shocked to see that some of you believe he wouldn't fit in here as nothing more than a squad player. He may be getting up there in age true, but we just saw in the last game that Mirallas works best as a LM. Pienaar has more than enough quality to play as a CM and both of them working along with Baines gave us some quality that had been missing for a while now. However that leaves a hole at RM and we do not have a player that can fill that at the moment. I am also a Galaxy fan and Donovan may not be as good as he was during his 1st loan spell a couple seasons back but he is still a quality player. I mean he almost averaged an assist a game his 2nd go around, which is amazing. I also believe his play style, specifically his passing game matches Jelavic's skill set really well. While I would miss him as a Galaxy fan if he left next summer, I wouldn't blame him one bit if he did.

Fellaini's touch has been horrible so far.

It was obviously Heitinga's fault. He was absolutely nowhere to be found today in our defense.

I've heard this so many times now and it never happens. It'd be nice though going into halftime with a 3-0 lead for once.

Fellaini and Jones jawing at each other a lot right now. I'd look out for that.

Given the fact that he's on £70k a week and clearly is more knowledgable and adventurous than us I would go as far as saying the conversation went like this...

Round "hey gaff, can't buy a goal here, we need some energy up there - shall I get that Greek lad who you don't like cos he's dead good lookin and your Mrs and Daughter fancy him to warm up?"

Moyesy "Your right Stevie, we need more energy but we ain't gonna score, they are all over everything that we lump up to them, let's taker a striker off and put a goal threat on. What will happen is we will get a corner, they will clear it but we need someone who can hit them hard lurking around the box- it calls for one man."

Round "Scholesy plays for Man United Gaff"

Moyesy "Get Johnny Heitinga out there"

Round "inspired boss, even if it doesnt happen, we may get a draw and take them back to goodison where we can completely drain Leon Osman and Bainsey of any energy they have left"

Only two things I'm disappointed about are the lack of Barkley/Duffy/Vellios and not keeping a clean sheet. Otherwise well done boys.

Hard time deciding whether MOTM was Baines or Anichebe, both did very well.
