That's completely ridiculous. No club in their right mind would guarantee any player first team football. It'd (rightly) alienate every other squad member and I can't believe any player would ever ask for it.

Think it's a bit of both (or neither). But Davey knew the situation when he signed up and it's not changed so he won't walk away for that....and I don't think he's "bad" in the transfer market. He's careful certainly but he's had his fingers burnt a couple of times so he wants to get it right (which he does more often than not). Even if he had huge wads of cash I don't think he'd go with the Redknapp scatter gun approach.
