Commentator on 5live said he'd barely noticed Distin, which (as Pat Nevin pointed out) was because he'd played so well....even one Jagielka-esque block it sounded like from the commentary.
Didn't see enough to vote myself, I'll have a think after MOTD2 tonight (first time this season I'll be able to watch it from on the sofa instead of behind it ).

So like I said, in your book it's OK (in fact heroic) to be a thug if you're a loyal Evertonian thug. If you're not a loyal Evertonian you're a bad example to youngsters and deserve what you get.
That's what I thought you meant. You're entitled to the opinion, I just don't agree with it.
Said here (and before) that I kind of understand about Ferguson, and that people will never agree.
My problem in this case was the article.
Just interested to know though how you (and others) can glamorise, lionise and hero worship this..
But when Jeffers put's the head in, you say..
I'm guessing it's OK to be violent on the pitch if you say and do the right things off it.
Read that earlier and it made me laugh a lot.
Have a vague understanding of why Evertonians of a certain generation might think highly of him....but that article is truly pathetic and embarrassing.
....just after Hull win their first home game in God knows how long .
Do they play their first team in the Carling?
Should be winnable whoever they put out.
And we moan about our board?
Nice bit of perspective there (although I realise that, with no disrespect, Wigan's history and expectation are not at the same level as us).
I think it's perfectly good answer for buying him....not an excuse. Thirty-one's no age for a center-back....anywhere else on the pitch it'd be a worry but I think Distin will be fine. 3/4 year contract is enough future planning for me .
Speaking of future planning Bill, your sig needs a bit of work....there's a nasty smudge fifth from the left .
A lot more than the legend that is Anderson Silva de França.
Total career of three minutes (against Charlton 15/4/07). At least it was an exciting three minutes, Bent's equalizer followed by McFudge's masterpiece. Funny enough just before Lescott (spit) broke the stalemate on 81 minutes VDM was stripped to come off the bench.....when we took the lead he sat down again .
