  1. Holy shite, that is a big subject....but at least I know what "Fordism" is now .
  2. It's a sell out! I know the ticket prices are reduced but that's impressive compared to some...Bolton in particular!
  3. The reason it's not a clique (and it is what Fish said) is that a clique is exclusive and this is open to anyone who wants in.... Anyway (getting back to the thread) I haven't gone for a result yet...2-1 I reckon after going behind.
  4. What exactly is it you're studying Mark?
  5. Not getting involved other than to say this repeated "clique" stuff is bollocks. Who's supposed to be in it? We all disagree from time to time....if you go back to the Pienaar argument in "What's the squad capable of" I was with you Carl against (among others) Licker. No reason to get so wound up about stuff mate, we're all on the same side .
  6. I'm 77,316th on 500 points (tied with Alan Hansen ). Had a dreadful start but climbing slowly. Many years ago (before you could play online) me and some mates used to take it in turns to buy the Torygraph....I used to find it so embarrassing I'd to buy a copy of "Men Only" to hide it in .
  7. guilty Jacko, me being a wise ass . Strange forum, huge amount more members than here but hardly anyone ever posts.....just go on to get the p/word... ...if you go to donkeypornforum.co.uk you'll find a lot of TT members .
  8. They actually quoted 37,500 capacity.
  9. Seems to have been more that a little stormy. Expected I guess. From the Guardian (trying to find a neutral perspective) Everton's board of directors came in for a barrage of criticism last night from shareholders opposed to plans to relocate the club to Kirkby. A ballot taken in August among 36,000 Evertonians gave the club approval to advance negotiations over a 50,000-seater stadium with Knowsley council. But at the club's 128th AGM at Goodison Park there was almost unanimous opposition to moving beyond the city boundaries and to the board's insistence that developing an alternative site within the district of Everton was not financially viable. The chairman, Bill Kenwright, and chief executive, Keith Wyness, faced a hostile audience for 90 minutes. "Your main legacy here will be the death of this club," said one shareholder. Chris Potts, from planning consultants Savilles, told the meeting Goodison could only be redeveloped to a reduced 37,500 capacity on its current footprint. "That would cost more than moving to a new ground," said Kenwright. Actually tried to find some info on Chris Potts and Savilles to judge how reliable their opinion is but can find nothing on them on the net.
  10. From the BBC site.. "The odds for a draw tonight are 10/11. When last did you get odds-on for a draw? I hope the bookmakers are right tonight." ..raises eyebrow slightly.... "I really don't know how to play for a draw," says Celtic boss Gordon Strachan, shortly before opting for a five-man midfield and playing just Scott McDonald up front. ....raises the other one . Interesting to see how it goes. 14:49 Defending throw-in by Giuseppe Favalli (AC Milan). 14:24 Defending throw-in by Gary Caldwell (Celtic). 13:42 Defending throw-in by Darren O'Dea (Celtic). 13:20 Defending throw-in by Gary Caldwell (Celtic). 12:02 Attacking throw-in by Aiden McGeady (Celtic). 11:05 Attacking throw-in by Giuseppe Favalli (AC Milan). 10:46 Defending throw-in by Gary Caldwell (Celtic). 7:10 Attacking throw-in by Marcos Cafu (AC Milan). 6:06 Attacking throw-in by Gary Caldwell (Celtic). 5:47 Attacking throw-in by Giuseppe Favalli (AC Milan). 5:14 Foul by Jiri Jarosik (Celtic) on Andrea Pirlo (AC Milan). Direct free kick taken right-footed by Andrea Pirlo (AC Milan) from own half, passed. 4:19 Attacking throw-in by Massimo Ambrosini (AC Milan). 3:42 Attacking throw-in by Massimo Ambrosini (AC Milan). 2:08 Defending throw-in by Gary Caldwell (Celtic). 1:34 Defending throw-in by Giuseppe Favalli (AC Milan). 1:18 Attacking throw-in by Gary Caldwell (Celtic). 0:34 Defending throw-in by Marcos Cafu (AC Milan). 0:05 Defending throw-in by Marcos Cafu (AC Milan). All action first fifteen. No corners, no shots, one foul, a lot of throw-ins and Benfica are winning. Looking good for Celtic so far . 2004: "The Milan lads are trotting around the pitch like a bunch of pensioners on a day out. I'd like to see a bit of action, please."
  11. Kharkiv were fifth in the Ukrainian league and we nearly blew it by taking them lightly. Zenit are Russian Champions, direct entry into the group stage of the Champions League next year so will be no mugs. AZ are "a bunch of jokers?" Don't think so. We don't want to be going to Holland needing a result in my view, my heart's taken enough stress already this campaign. I'd be happy with a few changes that don't obviously weaken the team. Baines, AJ, Faddy and/or possibly Jags in but it's vital not to lose. I'm liking the fact the match officials are all Israeli . Not famous for being best buddies with Russia . (Edit...scrub that, they're Iclandic )
  12. You think they'll struggle on without Sissoko ? Seems ridiculous (and smells a bit) that SA are not taking Benni McCarthy but are taking Pienaar !
  13. Don't have time to read it all at the mo but they do themselves no favours by blatant spin (hate that word) on the vote... "Their (15,000 yes voters) opinions and views must be respected, so should the vast majority of Evertonians, the 21,000 who indicated otherwise" 10,468 indicated otherwise...11,000 odd didn't vote so they indicated nothing. Also, an "experts" opinion. He's an expert in stadium architecture history and design from (presumably) Birmingham. I really don't think that makes him an expert on specific Merseyside/Liverpool cultural and local hostorical issues which is what he's commenting on. Shall read the rest when I get home, the finances scare me but I know fuck all about accountancy so I leave that to those who do. They have done a huge amount of work and I have great respect for KEIOC and what they're trying to do but they do themselves no favours at times.
  14. Too soon for Stubbsy I think. Also not keen on Andy Gray (but then I was pissed off when we signed him in 1983 so what do I know ).
  15. I'd go along with that....and maybe Spain if they see sense and pick Arteta (not likely I know). Also have a bit of allegiance with Greece because we go there every year and have a lot of Greek friends.
  16. What's that all about then...women's water polo?
  17. ...he won't. No direspect intended mate....have a soft spot for Oldham from the Sharpy connection. Just a good draw for us compared to what it might have been, plus at home we can beat anyone .
  18. Just handed me the finished work Mark. It's not brilliant but at least he's got something to hand in (which is a lot better than the positions I used to find myself in)....he's never had to do anything on this sort of scale before 'cos it's his first term at "big" school. Had a parents evening and interim report last week and he's doing much better than we expected, particularly as we moved house so he knew no-one when he started. Read some stuff about Marx' theory, never heard of it before....hard work!!
  19. Home to Oldham in the FA Cup. Should be problem free.
  20. Done deal in my view, what pro footballer wouldn't want the chance toplay under...er...Gareth Southgate (in the Championship ).
  21. Looks like a fucking great bed-pan Steve...not my fave design option .
  22. Uefa looks at match-fixing claims Uefa has given a 96-page report to Interpol alleging that 15 games in a variety of competitions were fixed. The matches are thought to have been qualifiers for Euro 2008, the Champions League, and Intertoto Cup. BBC Sport's Nigel Adderley reports that Uefa has confirmed an investigation is taking place into the matches, which do not go further back than July 2005. August 25th 2005...Exhibit A. 3jjLpxylvjo Collina's bank statements need to be exhibit B! I rest my case .
  23. Wessels Hibbo Jags Vic AJ No Baines (or Gravesen).
  24. Unchanged team....can't argue with that.
