  1. They've been all over us. Passing it around all to easily. That kick from keeper leading to the goal...how does the right back/winger have so much space. Ffs
  2. Fairly strong bench also (relatively speaking of course!) CYOB
  3. Nothing I said should detract from the outstanding win. the reality is though I only singled out that player because he has been poor (as have plenty) but more importantly that we have someone coming back that should improve the team (Mina) if we had a decent center forward coming back I might have said it would solve our Calvert Lewin problem.
  4. Brilliant result and great to see solid performances from Pickford and Godfrey after Wednesday. matter Burnley it's hard to look forward to fixtures but Leicester, Palace, Watford...maybe even Brentford have got to be targets. Hopefully Frank can get them believing in themselves for Midweek. Mina back also, hopefully to solve the Keane problem.
  5. Interesting article in The Athletic today. I'll copy some highlights: Appointing a director of football in Steve Walsh with no experience in the role, setting him up for failure Hiring Marcel Brands as his replacement but rarely empowering him to do his job, resulting in him being squeezed out under Rafa Benitez Lurching from one style of manager to another over six years, mastering none Appointing Benitez despite fan protests and subsequently waiting to cut ties despite internal division and fragile confidence in the dressing room Splurging money on a series of expensive flops and giving them contracts they simply would not get anywhere else, resulting in huge losses Signing three players in January for a relegation battle who are yet to start a league game On Lampard Time is running out for him too; to salvage Everton and his own managerial career at the top level. But whatever happens next, let it be remembered this is not a problem of his creating; that the rot set in before. So much has to go wrong over an extended period for a club like Everton to be where they are now, scrambling for their top-flight future. Managers, even Benitez, are at worst a symptom of the wider malaise. This fish rots from the head. Relegation, it if were to happen, would desecrate the history of a once-proud club. Those responsible would never be forgiven.
  6. Anyone who has a subscription to the Athletic, this is a great read. https://theathletic.com/3219609/2022/03/31/everton-accounts-explained-loss-wages-moshiri/?source=dailyemail&campaign=601983 For those who don't I'd be happy to post the content but it would be a long post. "Losses, more losses, and one man’s remarkable commitment to the cause. Everton’s accounts for 2020-21 are worrying and perplexing — and yet offer some hope. While the club has once again posted huge losses, set against its downward trend in recent years, they believe they have side-stepped the alarming prospect of Premier League sanction for their precarious position in relation to Financial Fair Play. One thing is certain — they lean on the continued steadfast benevolence of owner Farhad Moshiri to ensure better financial health, even as his decision-making is blamed for causing some of the issues. The Athletic examines what the accounts mean, and how the club plans to move forward."
  7. Read that against Leeds it was the first time since 2013!!!! That we've had 20 shots on goal and 10 on target. Bloody hell...that's long time.
  8. I see Football Intelligence differently Most footballers have physical and technical ability. Football intelligence is what Arsene Wenger had (amongst other things) and he never played the game. Now I agree you need other things like emotional intelligence to make it as a great coach but frankly our team just need someone who has football intelligence right now....where to stand and run seems to be a challenge.
  9. That article says it's 6M + 2.5M is that true...I thought we had been holding out for much more?
  10. Extract from an article at The Athletic "Newcastle pressed with more intensity than Brentford did and forced more mistakes. Gomes, a key performer at the weekend, saw his pass accuracy slump to just 72 per cent. Holgate, whose errant pass resulted in the corner that led to Newcastle’s equaliser, managed just 68 per cent — the lowest of any Everton outfield starter. ......Lampard was forced to choose between Donny van de Beek and Dominic Calvert-Lewin as his last change while chasing the game. Although the former made a difference, completing more passes in his 30 minutes than Gomes, who he replaced, did in an hour (41 to 32) at a higher success rate (91 to 72), Everton were crucially left without a focal point" I think we all saw the same thing (Gomes was shite) but at least we can take some positives from DVB.
  11. Is that right...sky sports are showing we had 60% possession and 450 passes vs 200+....yet we were completely outclassed. NCL had 20 shots on goal!
  12. Not if it was the 2nd game of the season he wouldn't.
  13. Haf said a long time ago that he gets beat to his left a lot. Particularly low left...I didn't think so but watch it's true...like zoo lander
  14. We need to see the extent of gray and Mina injury...we could be really really short for the next few weeks.
  15. I do think the plan was to hold it and then bring DCL on at 60 or so. That plan went out of the window very early. Doesn't excuse the abysmal passing.
  16. Got to get Gomes off and not just because of the yellow card.
  17. Trippier marking Branthwaite...got to be a mismatch there...of about 8 inches.
  18. He is on...don't blame you if you missed it ; )
  19. Get IN...a bit of luck for a change. What a delivery though!
  20. 100% agree...although not great for future games with God out.....and we've used 2 subs already.
  21. Stage is set...shows us what you can do.
