  1. Wow. MikeO is top of every category right now: this week, this month, this season, and points per prediction. Congratulations also to Paddock, who also scored 5 points this week by predicting a 1-1 draw. Remember, only those who have made at least 3 predictions appear in the final column.
  2. Yup. In a good mood and feeling generous today!
  3. Missed seeing or hearing anything about today's game, in large part because our older daughter had a baby girl this morning - her second daughter and our second granddaughter. Will be driving to Birmingham (that's Alabama, not England) this afternoon so see everyone.
  4. In recent days, a lone coyote has been wandering the neighborhood. We've seen it a couple of times. This evening, I let one of the dogs out, and he raced into the woods, hackles raised, barking aggressively - which is totally out of character. I suspect the coyote was out scavenging for food. It can get interesting around here at times. We've seen a lot of deer this year in our back yard. A few years ago, friends of ours were out walking their dog and found a black bear blocking their path home.
  5. She's actually from across the river - Plymouth. I must give her credit, though, for making wonderful pasties.
  6. In the US, we have the worstgore. He's even more scary!
  7. Ukrainian, Polish, or Russian? The best I've had was in Kyiv. It's great and a pity you can't send us all samples!
  8. That disallowed goal for QPR was a farce. Hart made the mistake, so why not play advantage and allow the goal to stand?
  9. Mostly agree with you. The defence was solid throughout. McCarthy was incredible, and we're really seeing value from Barry. Lukaku was impressive throughout (even though all the BBC website could say was how he missed a sitter and that Jagielka had to show him how to do it). I do think, though, that you're being unfair to McGeady. He provided two assists and made some other excellent crosses in the game.
  10. And why not? Around here, road kill means deer - especially when it's outside hunting season. Venison is a very common sight on the dinner table, so much so that I no longer like it that much.
  11. Having traveled to over 70 different countries, I've eaten my fair share of unusual foods - horse, hare, frog, alligator, crickets, etc. The one thing I've never been able to do, though, is eat food while it's still alive, such as "drunken shrimp" offered in Singapore. When it comes down to it, there's nothing quite like a Cornish pasty, and my wife makes the best!
  12. He has a reputation for creating fireworks - mostly in his own bathroom, though.
  13. Just read Brendan Rodgers' comments, and it's just a litany of excuses... Bad refereeing: "We need those decisions that are obvious, it was a clear, clear penalty" Injustice: "We deserved at least a point for sure Bad luck: "You need that wee bit of luck going for you and it isn't at the moment Injuries: "We have to keep working hard and hope get some of our injured players back in." And what about poor team selections, poor substitutions, poor game strategies, a weak defence, the lack of a reliable goal-scoring threat, and being too predictable? The fans can see it and booed the substitutions today.
  14. It really frustrates me, though, how teams that are ahead play all the time-wasting tricks: feign injuries, hog the corner flag, and the like. I understand why they do it, but it is so irritating to watch.
  15. OK - just spotted the Donate box in the top-right corner and did my bit.
  16. Chelsea win - and deserve it apparently despite a late shout for a penalty.
  17. So who forgot to put a bob in the meter?
  18. Toss-up between McCarthy and Lukaku. Went with McCarthy.
  19. Sell him in the January window while he's looking good and healthy.
  20. As my uncle used to say, a man is only as old as the woman he feels.
  21. I just saw this, too. What is the man playing at? If they get hammered (and they may very well get hammered), Rodgers could be looking for a new job.
  22. Putting all else aside, he has a Scottish wife and young daughter who undoubtedly benefit from living within reasonable distance to extended family. Why ever move to Italy, of all places?
  23. As long as you have the cash flow needed to pay it off - yes! My guess is that debt is being managed well right now as a prelude to stadium financing - as well as simply being good business.
