  1. 3am post. Let's see whether in 3 months' time you still think it's hilarious. But yes, it's definitely worth it.
  2. In Europe, it's a chess game. I wouldn't read too much into that game.
  3. Comments like that guy's, of course, do no good. From my experience in the big city, though, there's not a big racism issue. In rural Georgia, however, things may be different.
  4. Only in Georgia... http://globalgrind.com/2014/10/24/georgia-man-accidentally-texts-probation-officer-to-inquire-about-weed-marijuana-details/
  5. By the time my wife had our sixth, it was like shelling peas. Our younger daughter was born within three minutes of entering the maternity ward.
  6. So who's his first-choice partner in defence while Stones is out? My vote is Alcaraz for the moment.
  7. Watching EvertonTV highlights of the Villa game, I was struck by how animated the billboards have become at Goodison. When we watch news articles today on TV, viewers are warned when there to expect an undue number of flashes, because they can trigger a reaction with those suffering from epilepsy. So why are billboards now so full of flashes and sudden changes? Is it really necessary, and couldn't it likewise cause problems for those with epilepsy? Plus, it has to be a distraction sometimes to the players.
  8. I'd agree. Also, if you've never done it, take a ride in a hot air balloon.
  9. But then you look at your new daughter and think, how could such a beautiful person result from this process? I've thought that after each of ours was born.
  10. Games in Europe are quite different from games in the Prem. They are a lot more cagey, a lot more strategic, and a lot less entertaining in our eyes. We shouldn't translate that to mean that we're not playing well. The results speak for themselves.
  11. He needed it. Maybe it will calm some of the speculation.
  12. - Hibbert always puts a shift in and he's looking solid. He is not a world beater but now he is playing good football, composed on the ball, doing what he is supposed to do and defending solidly. I mean, we know he's no Coleman obviously, but he is not letting the team down. Poor Browning, he also looks ready to play a few games. The improvement of Jagielka makes the team feel solid at the back. Good for him and for the team now that Stones is injured. [He's playing in these games because experience counts.] - Lukaku looked fat today to me. Maybe he's just out of form? Probably I am wrong, though. [That'll teach you for buying a cheap TV.] - No Gibson, no Alcaraz... if they do not get a game even in the EL, does it mean that Martinez does not trust them? [Gibson. maybe. Alcaraz, though, played on the weekend.]
  13. That is if nothing happens tonight outside the stadium that gets us expelled from the tournament.
  14. Job done. Win the home games, tie the way games, and reach the next round.
  15. Do you think he's lining himself up to replace the current manager at Burnley?
  16. Is that Mueller from last night?
  17. Then maybe I need to justify my original suggestions: Will be interesting to see who starts. Distin was rested [and could be used to give either Jagielka or Alcaraz a break], and so were Eto'o [who could start ahead of Lukaku] and Besic [giving Barry a rest] - both of whom have European experience [particularly important and not to be underestimated]. Atsu will probably start [maybe ahead of McGeady] and I would guess Hibbert too because of his experience [and because we shouldn't put too much pressure on Coleman who's straight back from injury]. Now, does that sound better?
  18. Today I attended a party given in honour of a beautiful young lady that we know. There were several other guests present and a good time was being had by all. As a special gift, we gave the young lady a new dress. She was so excited that, in front of everyone, she immediately stripped off all her clothes and begged to be able to wear the new dress. Happy birthday to Maddy, my little granddaughter, who turned 3 today. Just don't do that in 20 years' time!
  19. I remember this game as well. Banks was a great keeper. As I remember, England were knocked out of the ensuing World Cup by West Germany (who else?), although I seem to remember that Alan Mullery scored in that game. That World Cup in Mexico still sticks in my mind. It kicked off with a 0-0 draw between Mexico and Russia. In the weeks before, you could buy these packs of cards with players/managers in the WC. I had all but three of them: Geoff Hurst, Martin Peters, and Alf Ramsey. Then, after spending an afternoon with my grandad, he bought me another pack of cards, and, to my delight, in included both Hurst and Peters. Finally, I traded about 100 duplicates with my cousin for an Alf Ramsey card, which gave me the complete set. I wish I still had it.
  20. I love hot peppers. Eat scotch bonnets, habaneros, etc as snacks. A colleague of mine grows ghost peppers. Never had one of them.
  21. If you're going to insult me, at least learn how to spell your insults correctly.
