  1. good for us either way, they'll be exhausted from this and the match at the weekend.
  2. villa being held at home to wycombe in the FA cup. west brom away being held 0-0 as well at half. guess they're more vested in premier league promotion (can't blame them really).
  3. exactly, sadly i've given up hope. also he's currently injured and out indefinately with a hamstring injury. but the list i put above are solid youngsters from foreign leagues so no english surcharge to their transfer wage. also the pound is strong compared the euro right now
  4. okay the naisy deal is confirmed. we now have 8.5m pounds to spend on a striker. let's go bill and bobby bring him in!!
  5. lol matt well played i knew i liked you. matt i would kiss bill kenwright if we could get nolito you know what a player he is and how much i appreciate his talents. but my stalking recently has shown that barca made a small approach/contact with his people and he said he's not interested in going to barca anymore he's happy at celta vigo and he's on contract there till 2019. not to mention he's 29 and not an out an out striker, would be a mirallas replacment. but fuck me i would have him in a heartbeat 20m pounds. better than yarmo i believe, the man is a points machine. 15 apps 8 goals 5 assists. thats scoring or creating a score almost 1 a match!!
  6. alexandre lacazette from lyon ayoze perez from newcastle michy batshuayi from marseille inaki williams from athletic bilbao borja from atletico madrid (currently at eibar on loan) pierre-michel lasogga from hamburg all good and young
  7. best to you steven, class player and individual, i with you and your family the best.
  8. good point. also it doesn't clarify shots on target. so these could simply be 30 yards out firign it into the stands.
  9. and lallana is a perfect example proving my point. we all wanted him thought he'd be a great player and were a little disappointed when we didn't get him. young, ENGLISH (means more to some than others) and talented. he's been awful and injured. 25m saved. not saying byram will be the same, but just that i'm confident our scouts and RM have a solid RB lined up to sign, Byram wasn't the only option. i'd prefer a foreigner. cheaper without the english surcharge and possibly more upside since the british media won't have covered them since birth.
  10. he's gone elston signed for them already. not a big deal really, up and coming RB of which there are loads. he's english so that excited some around here but not a big deal all in all. In: Foulds, Tarashaj Out: None yet (naisy close) I still think we need another striker and hope we'll use the Naisy money to get one. If Howard is off to MLS well need a keeper, if not go in the summer on that one. Happy with the 2 we brought in, attacking mid and defender, both things we could use.
  11. FFS this has turned into the new lukaku thread. someone please re-title this one too. arguments atop the trash heap aka the mirallas thread
  12. Very surprised. Seamus must have been early season when he was finding his feet again. Barry does surprise me I've thought he's been solid.
  13. Right and I'm sure he will be solid but people are acting like we missed out on a young messi Ronaldo to west ham. He's a starting rb decent player but has holes in his game. Not like he has the potential of the world either from reports and johnh personal accounts. I'm just trying to be the voice of reason. We missed out on some others than turned out to be worthless and I'm not losing sleep over this guy. He ain't Seamus Coleman.
  14. I don't know that's why I was asking you. Ah so the FA controls the league who in turn appoint the refs. Is that right?
  15. Not a big lose guys. 4m 22 year old. If he was that good he'd already be playing in the premier league like romelu John stones Galloway have. Ffs we got some whiners on here.
  16. well here is where RM shows his scouting nous and pulls in some other young fella for even cheaper and he goes on to be even better than byram. i got faith.
  17. we'd have to pull robles every time we went to pens and put krul in lol
  18. good point. marshall was mooted but for 10m no thanks for me. think we could get Krul at the end of the season from newcastle if they go down and robles doesn't do well.
  19. the problem is that seamus is still young what 25-26 and could have another 6 years. byram at 22 or whatever is saying i'm not waiting that long. i don't think we need a worldie or potential top notch RB, we just need a healthy squad player to fill in for coleman and do cup matches. we can get the next big thing in a couple years when coleman is sold in his prime if we choose to. that's how i see it at least.
  20. i think that's how martinez wanted it to go though personally. he wasn't going to publicly slate his players because in actuality we won the game, the ref botched it. so there was no need for them to "get it together". now do they need to? yes, and that's what baines is saying. he's saying the manager backs us and is giving us confidence but i'm gonna rip the lads a new one because we need to hold the lead and win these matches. it's not up to the manager for this because we need to hold each other accountable and play a full 90. smart really, the team keeps it in the locker room to have at each other to get stronger and the manager is still backing them. if he ripped into them and let them have it, confidence could be low for the Semi-Final and Swansea matches, which are both must wins.
  21. the refs aren't controlled by the FA dunc? i thought they were the ones pulling the strings with them and hence could punish/reward the refs per their performances. well if i'm wrong then yes you're right the refs union or whatever need a serious chat with themselves because this man deserves to be in the championship plying his trade.
  22. then we need to keep oviedo healthy if true. he could learn to ply his trade on the right and we'd have a solid backup there if we extend his contract, i'd be ok with that if he's up to the standard.
  23. http://www.espnfc.us/story/2789488/colorado-rapids-trade-away-clint-irwin-amid-tim-howard-link this might have more legs than we thought. they just traded their starting keeper away for draft picks and allocation picks (international star pick). they have no keeper. seems like they are banking on this going through. could already be agreed?
