  1. this is crying out for atsu and lennon on the wings. only one winner here if they take anything from that last game.

Agreed they will park the bus and pray for a draw. We need to have speed.

    Robles

    Coleman stones jags Garbutt

    McCarthy besic

    Atsu mirallas Lennon

    Kone

  2.

It's normally me that puts the curse on so at least I'm innocent this time,

Still, if it stays at 1-0 (touches wood) that's not a lot to take to Turkey. Spurs in real trouble with the away goal conceded.

My bad, and I agree mike. 1-0 isn't much and turkey the fans are crazy, throwing batteries and such at the players, it could really shake up all the Liverpool pretty boys. Spurs should be fine if they play their best 11 but part of me thinks pottchetino is throwing it so he can get top 4 in the league. That lineup was too weak centre back and forward wise. For a home match I just don't know why he would do that unless he doesn't care about Europa.

  3. Are you in US? On long-shot possibility it does you any good -- soccer pub after work? -- game to be shown again on FoxSoccerPlus this aft at 5 EST.

Yes I am, sadly 5 est is 4 cst and I'm at work till 5 and have to run some errands after. I'll watch the highlights online somewhere. Thanks though!!

  4. Glad we won big!! Missed the match since I got this new job and don't want to test the watching matches at work policy yet.

Glad rom is scoring and Seamus found himself. For all the Europa naysayers take that! Let's keep it going agaisnt Leicester and get on a run.

  5. Travelling squad: Howard, Robles, Griffiths, Alcaraz, Browning, C.Duffus, Coleman, Gibson, Jagielka, Stones, Lukaku, Naismith, Oviedo, Mirallas, McCarthy, Garbutt, Barkley, Besic, Barry, Atsu.

    Interesting. Looks to be

    Howard

    Coleman stones jags Oviedo

    McCarthy barry

    Atsu Barkley/Naisy Mirallas

    Lukaku

  6. I defended the lad in the past and thought that there was a good chance if he did come in (last season) we might be able to get the best out of him but after his stint at Villa I'm glad we didn't take the chance he's looked piss poor and just ghosts through games

He's not the type of player we should be looking at we need an Arteta esq player again and I think we missed a trick and bargain in Carlos Gil

Agreed if they go down maybe we could get him at a bargain. Throw benteke and Delph in too why don't ya.

  7.

And that's why Steven Naismith gives out tickets, right? Good on him.

If I was running a fan club, I'd work with bus companies to install neon advertising on their buses, so that advertising income could be used to subsidize fares to away games. Also, contact local businesses and give out bags of advertising materials to everyone on the bus - that would generate more income. Encourage local supermarkets to run frequent shopper programs, whereby they donate funds to the fan club based on the amount that shoppers buy in the store. This is how several local schools, including their sports teams, around here raise funds. Maybe individual members of the fan club would be willing to stick an advertisement on the back of their car in return for funds going to the fan club. All it needs is a little creativity.

Steve in, elstone out! Seriously though some good ideas and this creative thinking is what the club needs.

  8. Best I've seen of Barkley is when he's played deep.

Agreed. And agree with whoever above said he's not the best in the final third yet. His driving runs and ability to transiston are best in the box to box deep role.

He's a player you mold the system to, we shouldn't just play 4231 and he goes wherever. If he's really the future then make the system suit him and stones and the others. Put the old guys square pegs into round holes.

  9. Oh geez. Is this whining thread ever going to end?

Steve I think the difference here is that many of his backers (myself included) are getting more fed up with each performance and big upping himself interview.

I'll stick back the lad and want Everton to win, I've just ran out of patience. 17 goals with west Brom, 15 with Everton, 7 looking like 10 maybe 12 at best now. I thought this would be his beast mode coming of age season. Not so.
