  1. hahahaha..... nice one Rubes
  2. "Manager David Moyes has said he has no plans for a major summer recruitment drive and is seeking merely to add depth to his squad in the close season." that's going to upset someone!
  3. Atmosphere seems to have dwindled to a degree at most of the premiership clubs though (I've actually been to more aways than homes this year! ) Everywhere seems generally quieter and the away fans (us) seem to make more sustained noise than the home fans so it's not something confined to Everton.
  4. Mines a bit like that but I just hide when he looks for me........
  5. I don't get there as often as I would like either, but it seems to have been a steady decline over a number of years. Don't get me wrong, when in the mood the old lady can and does still rock, but it seems to need a spark or big occasion to get things going.
  6. The season finale, unfortunately a bit of a dead rubber with Pompey down regardless and us 8th regardless, nevertheless I hope to see a decent game from our point of view. Pompey are struggling for a fit first XI at the moment and I expect some players may be given a rest prior to the cup final. with that in mind we should batter them 4-0 minimum.
  7. They are nowhere near the only ones in that respect mate!
  8. Anichebe offside and interfering with play (in front of the goalkeeper) Have often seen them given but by the letter of the law it was a correct decision.
  9. Just had a quick scope around tinternet and it looks like shite reporting mate............Last deal was signed mid December.
  10. Mike you git! I've just wasted the past hour of my employers time pissing myself laughing reading through stuff on that site!!
  11. I am really unsure about this one, yes, the motivation should be there with the (outside) chance of still qualifying for Europe, but we have tended to trip ourseles up when in position to apply pressure to teams above us on several occasions. Stoke have a reasonable home record and will be out to try and banish last weekends demons. Although we should win I think it will be a vary nervy 1-1
  12. At the risk of pissing others off I voted for Romey. Mainly for his match/player analasys as it is generally very good and I have come to rely on his objectiveness when I have been unable to attend the games or had a crappy feed to watch.
  13. Over time I have numerous problems with eticketing. It's got to the point now where I just use it to see which seats are available and then call dial-a-seat to complete the transaction. Never personally had any real problem getting through to them before though.
  14. Sad & probably true, but it brightened up my morning!
  15. I could bear (no pun intended!) that sight, purely to enjoy the reaction from Rafa!!
  16. In agreement there, particularly the bold bit.

    Dear Wife.......

Dear Wife/ Sweetheart / Girlfriend/ Partner/ whomever it may concern, 1. Between 11 June and 11 July 2010, you should read the sports section of the newspaper so that you are aware of what is going on regarding the World of Football, and that way you will be able to join in the conversations. If you fail to do this, then you will be looked at in a bad way, or you will be totally ignored. DO NOT complain about not receiving any attention. 2. During the World Cup, the television is mine, at all times, without any exceptions. If you even take a glimpse of the remote control, you will lose it (in your eye). 3. If you have to pass by in front of the TV during a game, I don't mind, as long as you do it crawling on the floor and without distracting me. 4. During the games I will be blind, deaf and mute, unless I require a refill of my drink or something to eat. You are out of your mind if you expect me to listen to you, open the door, answer the telephone, or pick up the baby that just fell on the floor....It won't happen. 5. It would be a good idea for you to keep at least 2 six packs in the fridge at all times, as well as plenty of things to nibble on (excluding your body parts), and please do not make any funny faces to my friends when they come over to watch the games. In return, you will be allowed to use the TV betwenn 12am and 6am, unless they replay a good game that I missed during the day. 6. Please, please, please!! If you see me upset because one of my teams is losing, DO NOT say "get over it, it's only a game", or "don't worry, they'll win next time"". If you say these things, you will only make me angrier and I will love you less. Remember, you will never ever know more about football than me and your so called "words of encouragement"" will only lead to a break up or divorce. 7. You are welcome to sit with me to watch one game and you can talk to me during halftime but only when the commercials are on, and only if the half time score is pleasing me. In addition, please note I am saying "one" game; hence do not use the World Cup as a nice cheesy excuse to "spend time together". 8. The replays of the goals are very important. I don't care if I have seen them or I haven't seen them, I want to see them again, many times. 9. Tell your friends NOT to have any babies, or any other child related parties or gatherings that require my attendance because: a) I will not go I will not go and c) I will not go 10. But, if a friend of mine invites us to his house on a Sunday to watch a game, we will be there in a flash. 11. The daily World Cup highlights show on TV every night is just as important as the games themselves. Do not even think about saying "but you have already seen this...why don't you change the channel to something we can all watch?" because, the reply will be, "Refer to Rule #2 of this list". 12. And finally, please save your expressions such as "Thank God the World Cup is only every 4 years". I am immune to these words, because before and after this comes the Chammpions League, Premier League, Italian League, Spanish League, FA Cup, Europa Cup, etc. P.S. By the way if you have an accident or breakdown on the road call the Police or AA. Thank you for your cooperation.
  19. Like you said Mike, long read, but very interesting.
