There might be no truth in this anyway, but Roberto will know him inside out so if it is true then I'd be quietly optimistic. Exactly. Regardless of whether CL football is possible or not (it still is, however unlikely) you should always look to win. I want to win every game, every time. Players should be no different.

Just to update this.....about two months post treatment and all is cautiously optimistic. Saw my oncologist a while back and my surgeon yesterday and they both agree that the treatment appears to have worked in destroying the primary cancer, though it's difficult to see too clearly as my throat is still badly swollen as a result of the radiotherapy. Still many more checks and scans over several years before they can say with any confidence that it's gone completely but it's as positive as it could be at the moment; I'm even eating the odd bit of solid food (though everything tastes pretty awful 'cos my taste buds don't work properly).

I love Goodison and have been going there for over 45 years but it's time to leave and has been for quite a while, now. Two reasons:
 
1. Finances and attracting investment, etc...
2. Before something really bad happens during a game. I was in Upper Bullens, block 4, which is almost as far away as you can get from where the away fans are but in the same stand for those who don't know, for the game against Zenit when the Russian loons were bouncing up and down, singing their heads off. The whole stand was moving, swaying and it wasn't built to do that. The panic on peoples faces, standing up shouting at them to sit down/stop, resulted in an announcement in Russian, loud cheering from Zenit, more frenzied bouncing, followed by it stopping after stewards and police moved in. I don't want Goodison to be remembered for falling down because if it did that's all people would remember it for. It deserves better than that and so do we. As we move into European competition over the next and coming seasons we'll see more 'bouncing'. It's already creeping in to our own (Premier League) fans match day routine but, thankfully, not all who do it currently sell their allocation and so they don't make it up to the top tier. Might be nothing and I hope it is for all the right reasons apart from just tarnished memories.
 
Everything has its day and 120+ years in the same modified house is enough for anyone. Time to move on and start making history in new surroundings for future generations of barking mad Evertonians. The memories from Goodison will still be talked about after we have moved, same as they are now. Let future generations make and have their own. It's high time anyway for the snot-nosed kids of today to start doing something for themselves and make an effort instead of hanging on the coat-tails of their parents and forefathers.

So apart from forecasted figures, we're still none the fooking wiser as to what's actually happening and they've managed to create an artical and mild excitment, by recycling information we already knew?

i think you could have get the 4 spot even with those injuries, you just screw it big time against palace(probably like we did against chelsea). anyway for a first season, martinez done a very good job and playing european football and the money that comes with it can help build for the future.

My only niggle comes from the woodwork supporters, like those that Hafnia mentions, talking the talk before learning the walk. Genuine football, liverpool fans, i have no issue with. The bandwagoners who give people jip, gain an ungodly superiority complex and become blinded by facts...they are who I have issue with.

everton thing? it's an every team thing. chelsea lost some stunners, so have liverpool, man city, and arsenal. no team is perfect, so you need to expect a couple cock ups every season.

I'd limit major tournaments to teams who fall within the FFP rules. Those who don't, cant compete. Simple. It'll soon turn their thoughts around.
 
Plus, if a fine is all they'll get and they can still compete in the major tournies, teams with unlimited resources, will probably continue breaking the rules because the pay off is soo much better.

They'll only get a fine. How that's supposed to hurt mega rich clubs is beyond me like.

I don't want Liverpool to win the league but more than that I DO want Everton to win every game.
 
If West Ham beat Spurs on Sat then we'd only need a point for 5th now 4th is all but gone. Best case scenario for me is we beat City and Palace beat Liverpool.
 
As for the Chelsea 'anti-football' - they could end up with a league and champs league double, Mourinho is brilliant, each game should be set up for to get a result - fair play to Chelsea if anything. They'll be tough to beat next season when Jose has got his preferred strikers in.

I want us to be beaten convincingly.
