I actually agree, Gana hasn't done anything to warrant being dropped. I was tempted to put Gana in over Garner as i though Garner was quite poor against Palace. I would not be upset with a midfield of Onana & Gana as long as they get stuck in, win the ball back & move it quickly. As you mentioned we have to knock them off their rhythm, any midfield option we pick will be pointless if we are trying to knick the ball and counter with Ashley Young on the wing. It's been our strength all season but set pieces will be pivotal for us in this one & our most likely source of getting goals.

I believe Thelwell is also responsible for signings - more so than Dyche, so i think it is pretty unfair to criticise Dyche for transfers. In saying that, I agree with your summary of the players. Dyche, in my opinion has not rotated enough & seems to play certain players (favourites perhaps) through bad form. Beto & Danjuma should have seen more minutes, in Beto's case in particular he will need time to adjust to the league. Chermiti is a prospect who will hopefully develop into our strating striker in a few years & the Portuguese league is fairly happy hunting ground for Thelwell. Young on the other hand really has not shown enough at any point this season to justify a starting spot, I have no doubts if it was a young (excuse the pun) player he would have been dropped but Dyche seems to hold on to experience over performance. This would be my biggest critic of Dyche at the moment.

This 100% mate, we are screaming out for a winger that can beat a man or at least drive at the opposition with some pace. Ashley Young as a winger is just baffling & sad.

I understand both sides of the argument when it comes to Barkley & agree with points from both sides. However, given the situation we are in & likely to be in next window with limit funds we have to seriously look at Barkley as an option. It's been a long time since he left & I am sure he regrets the way it all panned out. Not the first young lad to make a bad decision & he won't be last. He would offer so much to our midfield in terms of technical ability, ball retention & he is capable of a match winning moment. On a free, relatively low wages, premier league quality proven - has to be considered surely. The only way he can redeem himself to the fan base would be to come back for a few seasons & guide us to mid table stability or better.

On the other hand though if we need to sell to comply with FFP we will struggle to get a big fee from a premier league team for the likes of Onana or Branthwaite as they all seem quite cautious about spending. I can see FFP crippling certain teams & causing them to sell prize assets below their value - no guesses as to which teams will be picking up those assets though.

Agree with your rant and player reviews - bar Myko to a degree, I thought he was good & simply got no support from McNeil as you mentioned. Clearly not our best day today but we should have walked out with 3 points, given some of the chances we had. Far too often the story & this stage of season it’s no comfort to say, we need to be getting the points plain & simple. Ashley Young - I understand Harrison getting dropped. We have all called for it but not for Ashley Young & absolutely not in that role / team set up. The squad is thin yes but Harrison (even in his form) was the better choice & if he didn’t perform then hopefully Danjuma is fit for the next one. Onana showed in his 30 minutes what he can bring. Composure. I feel Garner benefits massively from having along side him also. No dig at Gana as I don’t feel he has played badly but we need to use him in the right games - at home to dogshit palace is not that game.

Spending does not ensure success - how anyone here can still think it’s a certainty after what we have done is baffling. How - we are currently joint 12th without the deduction. That has to be our mentality right now, that we are good enough to be competitive in this league. Next season, our young players will be better - Branthwaite, Onana, Myko & Garner mainly but also Patterson & McNeil. Very good defensive record in the league. There are positives to take in to the next season, we just need it to click up front and tidy up a few technical aspects. Progression is 100% there.

Dyche has done a great job given the circumstances & whilst I expect us to stay up this season even with the deductions (which is really a testimony to the job he has done) his use of the squad & selections can be puzzling at times. Next season, ideally in the premier league with no outside distractions the expectations will be higher & we have to be competing for a solid 10th spot to really show some progression.

I see quite a bit that Forrest & Us will be deducted the same amount of points if both found guilty. I’m not sure this to be the case as surely Forrest have been far more reckless in their breach than our (second) breach. Even if we are to have for example - 6 points returned for the appeal, I can’t see our second breach being the same severity (given we have been punished for 2 of those years already). I could see us being punished 2 points (taking in to account 2 of those season have been punished) & Forrest getting 4-6 points.

I know it’s petty but it drives me nuts… the way that line up is has Myko at RB & Godfrey at LB
