  1. Even still, I'd rather spend nothing than throw 30m at Sissoko. I don't like him much at any price, and certainly not at 30m. I just think it's funny how people react to us losing out on mid-tier players by suggesting we should sign better players.
  2. We're getting beaten to players who aren't even being considered by top clubs, how are we going to lure a big fish without first doing the little things to get us near the top of the table and european football? Chicken or an egg situation for me... I think we had a modest but solid window. Sold Stones at a premium and by the look of things have a young more than capable replacement with loads of potential in holgate. We did a fine job getting a stopgap keeper solution on the cheap. We nailed an absolute bargain in gueye who looks like a proper star. Williams will give us a proper defensive unit we've been lacking. And we splashed some cash on a real difference maker who also gives us depth and options on the wing and in attack. I think they deserve some heat for not locking down another goal scorer for depth, but everything else points to this being a window in which we were smart, didn't shell out a ton of cash on ppl who weren't worth it, but still bolstered our squad nad got it to a point where Koeman feels strong about our positioning moving forward. This window was utter craziness anyway; might be worth a punt to see if a solid depth piece in attack is available for a more reasonable sum in January.
  3. I mean in fairness we've already gotten Stekelenburg and Gueye on the cheap, both of which have played to a much higher value thus far, locked up Ailliams and splashed some cash on Bolasie.. It hasn't been a bad window imo. That said, could really use a striker. I'm surprised about all the Sissoko / Brahimi talk rather than tons of activity surrounding goal scorers.
  4. All of this looks like pure conjecture. I rate him, but I'll wait for solid reports before getting excited.
  5. Fantastic work rate from mirallas again. Love what I'm seeing from him.
  6. Balotelli was fine with City, just shite with the red.
  7. I don't know much about this one. Someone wanna give me some insight into his game?
  8. Guys I really don't think this is hard. One of the better managers in the world is replacing his keeper, and some are arguing we should pay more for Hart than they are paying for the keeper replacing him. Are we mental?
  9. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3753042/Manchester-United-insist-Phil-Jones-going-Barcelona-goalkeeper-Claudio-Bravo-jets-Manchester-ahead-City-move.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 This is cited article.. Honestly, this doesn't give anything concrete, either. Just says we inquired but that Bracelona's insistence on a buy back clause is putting people off. I doubt this happens.
  10. Usual YouTube caveats apply but he certainly looks quality - he looks like he has the touch and the finesse to play with Rom, so could be an ideal forward for versatility.
  11. Eh the more I think about it I agree with this... At this point I'm happy with our back line we just may need a cb for depth and cover.. Kone is too expensive to bring in to be cover for Jags / WIlliams / Mori.
  12. Yup, this... Even if he is fit right now, he hasn't show he can be relied upon on or off the pitch regardless, and will likely not be fit soon. Get rid of him if anyone will have him; I think factoring him into our plans or using him as rationale for not signing a player or not letting a player go is completely mental. I'd love to have Kone. Our back line will be properly destructive with both him and Williams available to us.
  13. I've watched the matches, I'm just also aware that 34 year olds don't tend to have many years left. I'm not downing Barry's current contributions, just saying that he shouldn't be reason to avoid solid CDM signings. He won't be here forever. Seems obvious tbh.
  14. Barry's career is almost over, Gibson is irrelevant,. Besic is always (and currently) injured, Cleverly isn't a CDM, Davies isn't a CDM. McCarthy is currently a very important depth piece imo.
  15. This was a tough one, very strong performances. I went with kev - fantastic to see his work rate upped tremendously, plus some lovely link up play, along with a top class touch and finish on his goal.
  16. Think Barkley does need to play deeper in this set up, I just don't think that means he would be "out of the way." I like him linking up play with some space in front of him.
  17. Pool just accepted a bid at 27m with add ons taking it up to 32m. Good luck Palace. Yikes...
  18. No idea who this journo is? If this goes through we certainly won't be lacking in winger options..
  19. I mean, if SSN reports are true (who knwos), then why pay 60m for Lacazette when you can apparently get James Rodriguez for 65m. Both unproven but a vast difference in class (though in fairness I haven't watched nearly as much of Lacazette.)
  20. Like the look of that. With Williams in just Gueye at DM should be enough. If not, I'd replace Mirallas with McCarthy and put him as the second DM.
  21. I don't disagree, but when management and board are touting some huge transfer kitty, and we wait to sell Stones to buy players, It'd be off putting to say the least if we also waited to sell Rom before splashing on another crop of players.
