  1. You will not find a manager worth having under those ideals, that doesn’t happen in any club that I know of that recruitment decisions are kept separate from the managers, I think from memory the closest a club who tried to run in that direction was PSG with DoF Leonardo, but that was squashed by Pochitino who threatened to leave and was backed by the owners. You cannot take the most crucial role of player recruitment out of the managers hands, to avoid the scenario you have mentioned you make sure you employ the right manager.
  2. . The same with Carlo he signed players he wanted bar Doucoure and Godfrey who were suggested to him by Brands after the 2 Carlo wanted joined Spurs and Arsenal, so that’s great from Brands but Carlo would had to have given the green light before they were signed, and it wouldn’t have happened if Carlo got the players he was originally after. Brands hasn’t had the last shout or say on any of the managers since he joined, he did want to this time round and was overruled by the owners money man, a tough gig for him but the money he is on must lesson the pain or I thought he would have left by now if he was expecting more control and not getting it.
  3. Are we back on this subject again, let me tell you this there will be no first team players coming to Everton without Rafa’s say so, he won’t be told I’ve bought you this and that now get on with it, he will build his team with the players he wants, he hasn’t come here to pick up a wage he’s come here to build his team in his image. Honestly I know of no decent managers who would have it any other way.
  4. We have to afford him the same respect and opportunities as we have the managers who came before him, and if he doesn’t succeed he will go the same way as others that seems to be a guarantee with this board. I wanted him after Koeman was sacked he wasn’t my first choice this time round I put him at number 2 of 5 choices. I’ve got a good feeling about this appointment, not because the football will be attacking but we are use to that anyway, more because like Moyes he will set boundaries and won’t suffer fools, he should get us going in the right direction on and off the pitch. And if not adios amigo
  5. 54 years through thick and thin, good times and bad, I can completely understand what you and Mark are saying, I’ve said it a thousand times, but I’m still here supporting the team I love, and hope you guys will be next season and every season after.
  6. Britain does have a problem with racism, the world has a problem with racism, these problems are not the fault of football these problems aren’t the fault of football fans, these individuals who perpetrate the violence and racial abuse latched on to football and the team’s they follow as a medium to indulge in their sick way of life not the other way around, football most definitely didn’t look for them. I’m a football fan I’m an English fan so I get offended when people use the term the English fans are this and that, in a general way that encompasses English fans in general, for me and millions like me we don’t acknowledge these low life’s as fans whether for their country or club and any nationality. Yes football needs expose these morons as does every part of society, but please don’t call them football fans they have a completely different agenda to what a true football fan is, and by calling them football fans you in someways give them a legitimacy to what they are doing as if they belong to something that is there for decent people.
  7. I feel for everyone in the squad I’m proud of what the manager and players have achieved, first final for 55 years what’s not to be proud of if you’re English, a relatively young team which can only get better, penalties are a lottery and not a real indication of a team’s performance.
  8. I don’t call those stupid run up penalties as confidences I call it cocky, even Jorghinio got his just deserts.
  9. Shukes has started a Poet’s Society
  10. His name is Kean but in an Everton shirt that was never seen, we expect our players to be committed and mean we never witnessed that with the boy called Kean, so if you come to Goodison play without fear we only hold dear those who want to be here.
  11. Personally I don’t think it matters what Brands might think about Benitez role on player recruitment.
  12. , you nutter I can see already this is going to be a fun 21/22 season. COYB
  13. You lucky sod, I’m starting to sport the cheaper version, a cut every 4-5 weeks with a 50% discount due to the lack of time it takes.

  16. None just as controversial as refs and linesman decisions.
