  1. Seems to genuinely get the club (as you’d expect) and be excited to be here. Another good one for the locker room.
  2. He missed 1 league game in the last 4 years and was their captain. I think that alone is worth the fee. I expect an organized leader. Perhaps a little more no nonsense than Tarkowski from what I’ve seen but just a solid Premier League CB.
  3. It’s also worth noting that some want everyone who plays for us to live and die for the badge but as soon as they make a mistake, want a bigger contract, get injured they are very quick to personally attack etc..
  4. To be fair that’s just random media stuff. Alan Meyers reported that the weekend or early this week were most likely.
  5. Probably was the plan but with the injuries maybe he gets a reprieve until the next window.
  6. One would have to think this means at least one of Keane and Mina were set to leave. I suppose we are a bit lucky these injuries happened before they left as now we can alter plans a bit. Of course if Mina was sold before he was hurt that would have been ideal.
  7. Would like*. Don’t text at the gym
  8. Well we can’t plan for DCL to get hurt before the season when a Rondon is also unavailable. Just a fluke situation. We were always bringing in a striker to be the 2nd or competition to DCL, making Rondon the 3rd choice. Which is plenty for a team that has greater concerns and has to be pragmatic. Just one of those things.
  9. I imagine they we like like to announce multiple signings at once if possible
  10. It was encouraging to see Patterson so willing to get into the attack as that will be important with 5 at the back.
  11. With our current squad (when healthy) we may look pretty good getting off the bus with the likes of Tark, Mina, Godfrey, Patterson, Doucoure Iwobi, Onana, DCL. Some big, strong guys in there by soccer standards. At the least other teams aren’t going to relish a physical battle
  12. He had an excellent game. I do wish he would be a bit more ambitious sometimes. We will need that with a squad that may struggle to create chances at times
  13. Wherever it comes from it’s disappointing to see personal attacks for a player whose faults are not effort or attitude or even ability for the most part.
  14. I was curious about that. When I saw the lineup I thought it might mean Keane is the one in the window.
  15. Yea, I mean I get it from a football perspective but some people seem to be getting a bit personal with Mina. Not like he’s trying to rob the club or something.
  16. Bit harsh. Mina’s injuries are a huge problem and will likely have him leaving the club but he’s performed pretty well when on the field and seems to be a good character. I’m sure he doesn’t want to be injured all the time and I’ve never seen an indication that he’s just interested in collecting a check.
  17. Just a fluke thing. Reasons it happened but perhaps it’s nobody’s fault as such.
  18. It seems like we are focusing on reliability and leadership in some of these deals. Gueye, Tark, Coady. Even the youth we have in Patterson, Myko, Amadou (according to his coaches) have some of that character in them. Even after the loss and the injuries I’m feeling pretty hopeful about the longterm.
  19. It’s hard to know exactly what our constraints were and a lot of these haven’t played but, on paper, he and his people have done an exceptional job. This assumes we bring in a striker, as I’m sure we will.
  20. So your conversational approach is to insult someone and then end the conversation. Lovely . Thank you for your honesty though.
  21. It’s like blaming a defender for not marking a player who is offside. There aren’t usually whistles when balls go well out of play. Should players just tackle one another out of bounds because there is no whistle? Really grasping at straws to blame Pickford there. He was trying to make up for a bad error from Godfrey. I suppose you can say he should have just let it go out but a keeper’s instinct is always going to be to try to avoid the corner. Putting a freak injury like that on Jordan, at all, is poor imo. I imagine Ben isn’t.
  22. The ball was well out of play and he was stretching to get to it. That situation was either on Godfrey for the poor play to begin with or the official for not blowing it dead.
  23. The turning point for me was when he made that big error towards the end of last season. Fans stayed behind him and he performed well the next time out.
