  1. In all honesty it is going to be very difficult for him to ref this any which way he wants. Any 50/50 decisions that go against us will see the crowd get right onto him Any 50/50 decisions that go in our favour will see him being classed as trying to atone for derby game Do they think fans have short memories? it's going to be a no win situation for him
  2. The RS always leave my local straight after a game - no matter the result. Evertonians get a few more in and discuss it! I judge the size of the club as the amount of support in bad times versus good... lets see how big united really are.
  3. Most people knew what Mourinho was doing, thats why all the mancs are getting all flustered over it... he won't strengthen us next year unless he really thinks we aren't going to challenge them for a title challenge. It is funny though, unfair??? maybe.... he's a bit like the U.S.A, giving other countries missiles to take on their real enemies.
  4. They have to be the most pathetic fans i've known - no different to the Chelsea fans in many ways... just so spoilt and so insular. "oooh he's good that player i've never bothered to watch till Alan Hansen said he's good, lets get him" Can't stand the majority of them, there are some decent hard core who appreciate what they had because they seen the 70's and 80's...but overall can't stand them
  5. a point I made.... cant stand them. Worse than RS fans in many ways
  6. Gotta be careful, we may turn into the "Red Cafe" - rumourama will be full of a list of all the players listed as wonder kid on the FM 2014 database. Seriously though, you seen those clowns on that forum? apparently Uniteds DNA will change Moyes, Everton will zoom straight down the table when Lukaku leaves (as if Martinez hasn't got plans in place for that), Martinez got Wigan playing well for 3 months so thats whats happening here. Pure wishful thinking from a bunch of spoilt brats who have just realised the real world is a tough old place.
  7. At this moment loaning should be seen as a means to an end... in other words lets get some great talent from these rich clubs if it enables us to:- Make headlines and be known as an attractive club to play for - attracting buyers. Qualify for champions league Either one of those scenarios will see us generate the sort of money to not have to be like the kid at school that has to borrow the rich kids back up footy boots. It's not very nice having the mickey taken out of us, but lets just see ourselves as the poor kid with no footy boots but great footballing talent, lets borrow the posh kids boots - run rings round him in the trial and go on to earn loads of money. I'm wondering what teams are offering us their young talent??? Real, Barca, PSG, Ajax??? I think Ten's mental database could be in overdrive...
  8. 4th, if we progress to the league how much is that worth? £15m? Massive boost.
  9. anyone but off us the vile arrogant sods. Massive club??? where is their homegrown talent?
  10. why don't they switch their attentions to "Ravel Morrsion back to united in £20m shocker"...
  11. That's the Curmudgeon is back by popular demand. In fact I may even change from Hafnia to Curmudgeon....
  12. If we go into deadline day having won the next 7 games (ok big ask but...) we will be on 52 points on 23 games - the average top 4 qualifier is 70 points. That leaves 15 games to get 18 points... surely warranting an investment....
  13. Can we win it? yes. We have proven that by the way we have played against the top teams. Will we win it? no I don't think so. Our squad lacks depth, injuries are inevitable. If we take out any two from Howard, Jags, Barry, McCarthy, Lukaku, Baines then I fear any of the top 8 will be a tough opponent. I think we seen this against Fulham (Baines and McCarthy) - still good but just lack that edge. When the big boys get injuries they can cover them far easier. Lets see what Bob has in store for January though...
  14. Footballers are experts at the art of sandwiching (hamburger approach). Soft batch (some praise) Meaty middle (main criticism), Soft batch (some praise). It leads to a very clever way of making the recipient feel less victimised but they walk away knowing that there has been criticism. Praise:- "We never give up. That mental strength, he instilled it in us a long time ago. "I have thought for Moyes. I am at Everton thanks to him. He has enough experience to bounce back. It is Manchester United, a big engine. I am not worried." Criticism:- "Now we have a game focused on ball possession. We rarely play long passes. Whoever the opponent is, we try to impose our game" Maybe it's not seen as criticism but time to use an analogy to maybe put it into perspective. I will plaguerise the excellent car one above from Jona... Moyes was a solid racing driver, with his solid testing he enabled a poor team to create a great car, he also was quite good at qualifying and ended up with a few poles but ultimately ended up finishing races round 4th and 5th, with the odd podium. He gets the ferrari job as a result of legendary racer retiring (who happened to be his mentor) - his work ethic and testing skills being the prime reason.... problem is they already had one fo the best cars. So really he could only show his value as a driver, as a tester he wasn't really needed. In his old team that he left, they took a chance on a young upstart who had surprised some by challenging the big boys in a car which had been put together by scraps... ultimately that wasn't enough and the few crashes due to techincal errors seen the team finish low and go bust. The new upstart came in and not only carried on the solid work of his predecessor but he started winning races, overtaking the ferrari that his predecessor was now driving - winning in style... His predecessor didn't like this, he tried to take claim for building the car, whilst trying to make out the ferrari wasn't as good as people thought. Then one day the long serving pit man sylvain distin said...I'm always appreciative of Moyes, he gave me my job... as a team we have carried on from the hard work that Moyes instilled in us, we are still changing the tyres without any issues or mistakes but Martinez is setting lap records and is driving the car with a fearlessness and style that we have not seen before, we wants to overtake cars and not just stay in the race. I'm sure David can get ferrari on the podium again though. The meat is in there... appreciation for hard work and bringing you to the club pales in significance to a comment which more or less says "the new manager has an admirable footballing principle which just wasnt there before"
  15. Closest I have seen to corruption on a pitch was him and collina. I seriously would have had him investigated for match fixing, a ref has more power to affect the outcome than some players (goal keepers aside). The most one sided diusplay of refereeing which surely had more behind it. The most favourable accusation I can make is that he was some sort of Stevie G fanboy, who he had a man crush on. The worst is that he took some payment to ensure Liverpool won.
  16. I think Martinez is just highlighting how tactically inept Moyes was. You cant even compare wigan to Everton, he was running a club on a ridiculous wage budget, he couldn't afford to pay the wages for any of our defenders. Heitingas Wage alone would cover his back 3. Moyes clearly built a good team, I said all along we were far better than what Moyes was trying to make people believe. Moyes deserves credit for the team he left behind, but he needs to accept his philosophy is wrong out on the pitch.
  17. They are that arrogant they don't even look at the players history nor listen to fans who know more about them than they will. Hopefully Barkley is sat down by Martinez and given a clear career plan. 1. You are going to be very rich, here's 50k a week. 2. Moyes is the wrong manager for you, kagawa doesn't get a game in that team, he relies on crosses in the box, not through balls. 3. You can become an Everton legend. Give us 5-7 years and you still have a big move ahead of you. There is no rush. 4. Don't listen to the press, become part of something I am building
  18. I actually thought that, he seemed to take the applause for the people being remembered as it was for his singing.
  19. OK, so Murray was in Miami, fergie was pictured numerous times..... but yeah they've created a new award for him .
  20. the Anne Williams tribute just reduced me to a man struggling to hold tears. Remarkable woman, some things transcend sport. JFT96.
  21. He's like a number 9 version of Tim Cahill, was looking at my posts above, I don't think I was too far off the mark but I admire him as a very hard working player. Strong, mobile, with a decent leap... technically not great but I would sooner see him than Naismith. Decent addition to the squad but if we have Kone fit I don't see the point, we need a finisher.
