  1. Didn't the paper say Bob wants to knock back the £10m as he doesnt think he will get the right players at the right value?
  2. The lesson I've learnt is that Moyes had turned an evertonian into an Albion fan..... Stackable offence in itself
  3. Mark pembridge....he the shortest neck. These players ate probably financially secure ya know.
  4. Yeah...lets start a career by slating the chairman. I think Martinez has more class about him than to speak ill of someone in the press - he didn't even do it to Moyes when provoked. By the way Moyes wasn't spineless, he just had no integrity. He used lack of investment as a means of negotiating a new contract, £70k a week shut him up. Martinez would just be off when he feels the club will not back him if he has put them in a position to make the next step.
  5. I felt bad including him but maybe the fact he was a team player that year says it all.
  6. Seriously a big boost for them if he is intending to stay. By far the best player in the prem on current form. Would take £80m to sign him on this form.
  7. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/10529777/David-Moyes-gambled-with-Robin-van-Persies-fitness-and-is-damaging-Manchester-United-says-Raymond-Verheijen.html Thinking back, did we suffer many mscular injuries under Moyes?
  8. Alex N'Yarko, Mitch Ward, Lie Tie, Gareth Farelly, Vinny Samways - a few more there
  9. Against Spurs.... only a right arse would make that decision. Its a bit like playing Kagawa on the left wing....oops
  10. Too right - we know what its like to have Niclaus Alexandersen, Claus Thompsen, Mark Pembridge et al
  11. Rule number one:- don't bite the hand that feeds you.
  12. Indeed, it's chairman like him who give Kenwright an easier time in justifying their tenure - and that isn't being unfair. There are varying categories of chairman - this fella is in the "complete idiot" category. At least we can say Kenwright wouldn't do what this fella has done, he does have good relations with his managers and he does select them wisely, and despite making some major bloopers he does love the club. That doesn't mean old Bill gets off hook line and sinker... some of his debacles and fictional stories have been hard to take and I for one will not forget them. However he has made a cracking appointment in Bob, it remains to be seen how well the board are able to support this class act of a manager... Roberto could end up leaving Bill with a decent chairman CV - and the platform to sell to the right person, there is no way that Everton will not be on investors radars... the commercial team better be looking at our kit sponsors, kit deals etc etc as we have never been so attractive commercially.
  13. I think he's awesome - still under the radar of so many so called expert pundits... maybe we need to get him to do a stepover or an over head kick to get their attention??? Nah i'm quite happy us knowing that for us he is the tempo setter. Lets let Lukaku take the plaudits.
  14. I live in a cul de sac and there is some lad who drives a black golf down to the bottom end doing 40mph... not a resident but a visitor. I'm gonna have him. My brother a few years back who had his then pregnant wife in the passenger seat, was followed by 4 lads in a car behind him who drove up his arse for a mile dangerously, he timed it perfect - lights went red, they went right up to his bumper and revved trying to intimidate... he's an ex boxer - he don't get scared easy. He got out of his car, they locked their doors and tried to wind up their windows "sorry mate, sorry mate, just playing...." To be fair he regained composure before he smashed the driver window in. An example though of how powerful they feel behind a wheel and how it counts for nothing when a person makes themselves a threat to their body and not their car. A lot of strange psychology involved in driving behaviours. As I say I'm not perfect but the older you get the more you think.
  15. Probably the best thing that can happen to him really, we've all been there, hopefully that may make him think twice. Definately should be some restrictions on max horse power/engine size for drivers under 25 - some cars just beg to be opened up and young testosterone fuelled lads lack the maturity to exercise common sense.
  16. Blimey you dislike him almost as much as I dislike Moyes. Some similar soundbites that apply to both managers. At least mourinho has charisma and is clever though. One big difference is he wouldn't have bottled the games that Moyes did for us. I agree though, football is entering a new age and we have a new age manager.
  17. Just pure lazy journos. Our relationship with them is irreparably damaged, no way will that lad be going anywhere for less than £40m and it's gonna increase. Chelsea and city would gazzump them any how.
  18. They have just won the league Matt and were unlucky not to beat Real Madrid in the quarters of the champions league? Clear out? a little harsh on a team who wrapped up the league with pointys to spare. I kinda see where you are going in terms of "they need one or two players" but he didn't do that. We needed a few and Martinez delivered that to be fair.
  19. Januzai Phil Jones Lingard Zaha De Gea Rafael Smalling Kagawa Chiquarito Evans Cleverley (I will include him as some idiot will pay £10m for him) Now there is a baseline of players under 25 years of age. Throw in Valencia, Rooney, RVP, Nani, and a few other title winners... come on are you honestly saying he's inherited some vetarns team??? He needed to buy a marquee midfielder and went for Fellaini. He has the best striker partnership on papaer in the league and they barely score goals. Moyes left us with zero firing strikers. Targetted a left back that we never had any proven cover for. We had a midfield that was extremely slow, Martinez has worked relative miracles with what he did in the summer transfer market.
  20. Had a little chuckle - seen the thread saying "Can Everton win the league" - two threads above it "Martinez will not last the season"
  21. Distin 36 Howard 34 Hibbert 32 Osman 32 Jags 31 Pienaar 31 Heitinga 30 Baines 29 We have eight players over the age of 29 - six of them key players, Man United have 16 first team players who will make a fair few first team appearances all under the age of 29, only 4 above 29 who will be a key part of their team this season. No comparison Matt. SAF left moyes with some extremely talented young players to work with.
