    Man City (Away)

They will score, no doubt about that, especially if they play Johnson and deliver the ball into the box. Our only hope is if we set up and have a go at them, not holding my breath.
  2. Clearly we have different levels of expectation. It's ironic that the two teams with -15 and -12 goal difference, we managed to score a total of 1 goal against - without beating either. We have the joint lowest goals scored at home, and have managed to score more than 1 goal at home on two ocassions - Man U and Liverpool. That says alot. What have you seen to suggest that we will improve? We have had the easiest spell of games we will have for the season and we have won 3 games from 17, it is a very scary statistic. The manager has had as close to a full squad in years and he has proven many right (Everton worshiper) who said that he only seems to get the team playing when he is under pressure, give him options and he 'fumbles' The get rid talk is fully justified, why isn't it?
  3. I don't doubt for one minute moyes wants us to succeed, he is a scrapper, I do not doubt that defeat pains him. I do honestly question his learnings in terms of team selection and tactics over the years. It is unfortunate that a manager as committed who has taken us on a journey should hit such a ceiling, but thst is what he has hit. His existence as it stands gives our board the luxury of doing absolutely nothing. The only people putting hands in pockets are the fans.
  4. The days of John Spencer return, surely a joke.
  5. Don't bet against it, 14m may just be music to bills ears, "is garbutt ready yet david?" "I may have found a way of getting you a striker...."
  6. We are showing relegation form, quite clearly! Draw every game and you will likely be relegated, unbeaten yes, but none the less down. In terms of expectations we are the biggest failure in the league. We have been abysmal. Look at where we have dropped points, the manager has to take accountability. Get yak fit and then drop him, no doubt he's unfit again now. Rodwell right mid, heitinga in midfield, Coleman on bench when all the fans could see how effective he would be on the wing. Arteta playing some quarter back role, jagielka lumping balls forward. No doubt when Tim is away we will pick up points, the reason being moyes may have to change his rigid structure that everyone now knows about. The 5th highest paid manager in the prem unfortunately is not showing any signs of wisdom his tenure at the club should. He is void of invention, change, adventure. When he does make changes they are nothing short of baffling, Anichebe on instead of Coleman, criticising a confidence shot striker in beckford when he is the only one making space and chances. Is it time for change or do we wait for dave to rediscover his winning formula that he rediscovered and forgotten time and again.
  7. To be honest looking at the last posts about him, it was about 6 months ago and we all agreed that the one area that needs sorting out id his physique. I would guess that he is still work in progress and Moyes is reluctant to risk damaging him so early in his career. You do read the odd snippet about a thunderbolt scored here and there for the reserves so let's wait and see, that goal scored against forest showed skill and technique of the highest level.
  8. He does, tidy player, quick and good feet, just a bit lacking in his physical maturity at the moment. However surely it should be only a matter of time, we hope. Regardless, we should seriously be hoping that one or more of our young hopefuls make the step up in the near future. We certainly could do with a young upstart ruffling some feathers amongst the senior players.
  9. Which justifies my point that it is time for him to go.
  10. I would agree at that time, as we had no youth coming through, Rodwell was and is still not a regular, however we now have some "promising" youth, that is the only way we will progress under the current board. We do not have the luxury of sending a Danny Wellbeck to Sunderland, we would be playing him, and at the moment he would be our best striker. We need to send a message to players that we will not suffer highly paid bench warmers, if you ain't doing it for the first 11 and you are a supposed key player soert it or you will be sold.
  11. Saha has been well blooded, he has took so many rounds in his Dave Moyes sponsored bullet proof vest that they are rebounding off and hitting the other troops. Somehow he seems to fight another day...
  12. Normally I would agree, the only way I will say no lets do it is because we "should" have a few youth players that are ready to come through to the senior team that should be able to be used if required. Barkley - fingers crossed, Wallace, Duffy, Baxter, Silva, Gueye, Mustafi. In my opinion I would rather blood these in than use your Anichebe's, Billys, even Heitinga now. I would imagine even the likes of the raw Silva would offer more presence than Saha.
  13. Whilst I have created many a response with my criticism of Kenwright, the "current" concerns are not about him it's about Moyes. The squad Moyes has should be beating teams of the Blackpool, Sunderland, Wigan, Blackburn, etc comfortably. My criticism of Kenwright comes into play when we are unable to get that extra 4 players that would see us challenge top 4 - my criticism comes into play when we are supposed to be thankful for not being relegated and Kings dock and Kirby are painted as small errors. At the moment Moyes can't get the team beating lower half teams! Moyes is an ambitious man? That's what we are forever hearing, sadly it is something I do not believe. If ambition means being content to juggle a squad using valued players to buy more gambles then yes. Ambition is not equal to a poor record against the "top 4" - ambition is not 2 decent cup runs in his time here. Ambition is not setting a team up 4-5-1 at home against teams we should batter. Ambition is not deploying Heitinga to man mark Charlie Adam when we should be giving them something to think about. It seems Moyes and Kenwright are made for each other, Moyes I believe feels less pressure operating on a shoe string budget as the expectations will be less and he can't lose - hey, 6th place is amazing on a net spend of zilch, Kenwright can then happily sit back and take plaudits for steadying the ship whilst pointing at the demise of Portsmouth etc whilst forgetting that Spurs have happily stepped into the position of the top 4 challenger. Moyes may have ruffled Bill's feathers with his latest "we will have to sell Pienaar to spend in Jan - by the way it will probably be a loan" - just in case we forgot that he is working a miracle and it's not his fault we are in a relegation battle. Unfortunately this has needed to happen. The Bill and Dave boys club needs challenging. Will my opinion change if Moyes get's the club on another unbeaten run? No, I gave credit when he received manager of the month, but this was achieved on the basis of steadying the ship getting a couple of wins and not losing games we expected to lose. The same issues appear over and over, he does not seem to learn from his mistakes, he reverts to an overly cautious approach. I am thankful for the job he did in getting the club to a mid to top half team, that does not give him the right to stay and stagnate. For the best what needs to happen is a bit of a fall out between Kenwright and Moyes, resulting in the undoubted complacency of "successful survival" being challenged.
  14. I think my mrs could write more relevant posts and she despises football, something our boys are making me do at the moment.
  15. Seriously? A nice header off the bar, he buries those in his sleep, what Is nice about it?

    Wigan (Home)

No pace, long ball hoofs from the back by jags, Saha? 4-5-1, all down to our great manager. He has run out of ideas, not that he had many to begin with.
  17. Another strange post. For the record arteta has been awful, Tim has chipped in with important goals but you are making them out to be Torres and gerrard... Seriously, are you the one who loves Cahill in an unhealthy way? It might be worth Cahill leaving just to stop your sickening posts!
  18. What?! That post reminded me of a Childs response on John cravens newsround regarding current affairs.

    Wigan (Home)

We should lose this, as a lesson to that tactically garbage manager of ours,

    Wigan (Home)

Never mind good second halves moyes! Negative, boring! Sort it out or get out!

    Wigan (Home)

If moyes wAs a boxer he would hide behind hid guard until the 12 th round.
  22. Depends which way you look at things, I'm spoilt in the sense that my first game watching everton was a 5-0 win against forest in the 84-85 season. In that time my expectations for being an evertonian was set. Despite disappointments along the way the expectations are still high, I still want more. Whether it be the board, the manager or the players. At the moment I feel we are four new players away from a "great" team. I have said this for a while and will continue to do so till money is spent, and yes that's a whole new argument. Two wide men and two new strikers. Wish list? Andy Carroll, Matt Jarvis, I would take nzogbia, Danny wellbeck, approx 40m worth. Sell, yak, Saha, Billy, heitinga, yobo, maybe 35m worth
  23. Give him to pulis at Stoke, should get in the region of 4m comp for him I think. Bad attitude, see you later. P.s give Vaughan a run out. A player who's attitude is suited to our club.
  24. For me yes he does, he has absolute quality, and for him to not show it is criminal. Lack of interest is not acceptable.
  25. They are paid a fortune to play for our club. I would never boo a player who had a bad game as long as they showed effort. That is all we ever can expect. Unfortunately as with the case of Saha, we have talented individual who is clearly not interested, we know he isn't and we deserve the right to let him know we will not stand for it. I would applaud beckford all day long even if he misses sitters because he is working the channels. You will never find certain players being booed and they are the likes of Cahill, hibbert, Neville and that is because they give 100%. sadly the same can't be said for our most talented players.
