  1. I must have missed the 8 year old thing...
  2. You can be done when lukaku does 10-12km a game. I respect you, but respectfully I disagree. He covers about 7km a game at best. I broke toe in two places launching into a disgraceful tackle playing against ellesmere port in the west Cheshire league, the inflammation took the nail off and the toe should have been drained. I went skiing on it a week later and played two weeks after. Once it's in a boot and pain killers have kicked in its nothing. Rom started giving it the holding foot bollocks at 85 minutes - absolute bullshit. Attention seeking 8 year old nonsense. Yeah it hurt but when I couldn't control a ball 8 months after was that the reason??? No just me being shite and that's why I do a 35 hour a week job.
  3. Sorry Matt. I wasn't aware that a premier league broken toe is more debilitating than a Sunday league one. My point being he broke in the bloody summer!!!. I'm not arsed about origi but if people want to analyse his 9 games or whatever without a goal any "had says origi is a better player" then I will put context behind it. He isn't a goalscorer but I will say this, he is a far better footballer than Rom. I said Kone is a better all round player and was laughed at...
  4. A broken toe in Sunday league is no different to any other level. Maybe worse on the basis I was a midfielder at tgevtine and had to tackle. re lukaku, It's not dislike at all. It's more bemusement at fans who can't assess a player correctly. I've never known so many excuses made for a player. age, out of position, split up from his gf, toe injury, world cup, style of play. Embarrassing.
  5. Maybe you need your own football dictionary.
  6. Ok wind it in now. Talking bollocks as per usual. Medically fit means you have no health issues. We can see what you have done...made a statement. People disagree, use Google and the only thing you find is a gaming website forum where fully fit means higher than match fit. Match fit means what it is. Fit for match conditions. Recovering players can have better bleep test results than match fit players, show better fitness levels than match fit players yet they can't do 90 minutes and appear rusty. Explain.... The answer has been given to you.
  7. That toe eh. Been responsible for so many balls bouncing off his shin pads. Ffs, 6 weeks it takes to recover. I broke mine in two places and was playing 2 weeks later on nothing more than ibuprofen. Stop looking for excuses, the lad has glaring development needs and £28m is a big gamble. Every time he has an anonymous game its the teams fault. The other night we seen a player who had been out for 14+ months show more industry and line leading ability than that 6ft 4 over indulged fairy. All with a limited back up.
  8. Watch the player don't read the stats. He's been played on the wing. Listen, don't call me out, I have tangible reasons for my player opinions. The lad is going to be a top player. He is a better footballer than lukaku, it's fuckin difficult not to be. Origi has great pace and control. Goals will come. Very similar in many ways to sturridge and welbeck. Lille fans are clearly pissed off and blaming a player who isn't theirs anymore.
  9. I've been more match fit weighing heavier, with more body fat than I have in my best shape. If match fitness needs explaining to you you then there is no point. Football manager can have all the definitions they want. Match fitness is the reason you have pre season games. Otherwise why not just keep running the players till they spew.
  10. Don't rely on football manager for your definitions
  11. Fully fit = no injuries, cardiovascular fit. Match fit = sharp, able to recover from bursts of energy quicker, able to endure 90 minutes. A player with no injuries can go and run 5km in 20 minutes or whatever in training and be classed as fully fit. A player who is fully fit may be found blowing after a 30 yard Sprint in a match and unable to have the little extra in the tank to take a player on if he gets the ball again after 20 seconds. That player is lacking match fitness. Match fitness also relates to being able to mentally adapt to the game and show sharpness.
  12. I think he looks a star in the making. Once first half was out the way he settled. 17, very promising.
  13. Full fitness and match fitness are different. All were fully fit, just not match fit.
  14. I just think he can't be bothered any more. I noticed his arrogant side come out on the build up to the world cup - using the competition as a means of putting himself in the shop window.
  15. This isn't a "lets slate Tim Howard" - thread. More of a case of we have a need for a new keeper. Howard has been great for us and yes, like Pienaar it seems his time is rapidly drawing to a close with the club. I will throw Ochoa and Keylor Navas in the mix - liked them at the world cup, great shot stoppers. Navas at Real Madrid but only played two games... surely he would want to be a number 1 keeper. Casillas is still only 33 - young for a keeper really.
  16. Barkley and Sterling are different players - Sterling doesn't have to apply much thought to his game, if anything he plays the way he has since he was kid - run with the ball on the wing. If sterling had to play the role that Barkley does then you would see his immaturity. The attacking mid role requires speed of thought and experience. Barkley has many advantages over sterling:- stronger, better in the air, better striker of the ball, two footed, creative, powers past players. Sterling has better pace and thats about it really. The only thing missing with Barkleys game is "brains" - the experience to know when and when not to do the things that other players can't do. They reason they can't is they don't have Ross's talent.
  17. Similarly - put Ross in centre mid alongside McCarthy for certain games - make him learn the positional importance and the need to look after the ball. By having players to compliment others shortfalls it possibly equates to having one or two less players compared to all round teams like Chelsea where their players are more rounded - for example Costa can link play, dribble, score, work the channels. Fabregas can get stuck in pass and score. Got to say i'm delighted for Kone - to perform like he did last night shows how much work he has put in to getting fit.
  18. I think it will work well in the sense of, "This is what you are meant to be doing - now get making runs!!" - it will also work in the sense of that the players can hit Kone and know it will stick - too often we see the ball get sent to Lukaku and players are tentive to push forward in case he loses it. Lukaku can make runs off Kone - midfielders and full backs can advance knowing that the ball will be retained. In short Kone does the things that Lukaku can't. I knew Kone was strong - but he looked extremely strong last night - we miss that up front.
  19. I thought the young lads overall were very good collectively and will have taken a lot away from that game. Garbutt is further down the line as he has had competitive game experience and a play off final for Cheltenham - you could see that. But his quality of ball strike was superb - it really was.
  20. I thought he showed some good attributes and he was played out of position. I like his mobility - good speed, low centre of gravity and close control - he offers something different. We know the lad can finish - i've seen evidence myself. He needs a decent loan in January, he has needed Aug till now to recover from leg break. Lets get it right - there was only two players who let themselves down - Pienaar and Robles. Pienaar can get lost - didn't like his attitude, Robles just may not be good enough.
