  1. Let him have his 30 seconds of fame. Nobody's going to pay any attention to a second rate championship defender. Boothroyd's already said he thought we deserved the pen.
  2. 0-1 Cahill is overdue a goal.
  3. I wouldn't give Reading a hope in hell against Arsenal away next up, so if we can win against Shef U we'll go sixth. The goal difference is pretty much an extra point over any team outside the top four. I'm praying Johnson, Cahill, Arteta and Fernandes stay fit for the rest of the season.
  4. Yea but we're all in the same boat if you check out the run in: Bolton have got Mancs,Arse, Chelsea and Reading Reading have got Mancs, Arsenal, Portsmouth, Liverpool, Bolton plus tricky games against Newcastle and Tottenham Portsmouth have got Chelsea, Mancs, Liverpool, Arsenal, Reading plus us and Newcastle. Tottenham have got Chelsea,Arsenal, Reading, Bolton plus the distraction and possible injuries from their UEFA cup run. I think they will run us closest.
  5. With Reading, Portsmouth, Bolton and Newcastle getting beat all the results went for us this weekend. We had that kind of luck on a regular basis when we finished fourth maybe it'll see us into a top six finish this year. The teams around us all have to play each other as well so it's in our own hands.
  6. Yea its a miracle Moyes has got us within reaching distance of 5th place when Kenright hasn't put a penny into player transfers in five years. Imagine what what we could do with a chairman with the cash to back up a big gob.
  7. Gerrard's first was as blatent a dive as I've seen but I bet we don't see the same witch hunt for him as Johnson, the press always love an easy target.
  8. Davies wouldn't be the first average player to have a short spell of decent games after a move, his confidence will be up and he's trying to impress. He had enough chances for us. I think we did well recouping the fee we paid for him.
  9. Well said, Moyes has got us into a potential top 6 finish with virtually no resources and people still aren't happy. It's a good fucking job the bumper Sky money is coming in this year or Bill would be right in the shit, as it stands he can pretend its his money we're investing.
  10. It was an exaggeration of my post far from what I'd said. Hardly jumping on a bandwagon or paddling a myth to state it's a fact Kenright has no money or that you need it to stay in the top 6. You seem to be saying if a millionaire wants a club they will get it whether the major shareholder wants it or not. You must have a very short memory if you can't recall the amount of times investors tried to buy Villa but couldn't budge Ellis before the heart attack or Terrence brown at West Ham over the years.
  11. QUOTE(Bluetrip @ Feb 23 2007, 3:16 PM) * Giving the impression your club is not for sale under any circumstances would put off businessmen Satan wasn't mentioned and it's quite a reach from a 'man living out a boyhood fantasy'. And you cut the sentence in half I said it would put off businessmen when there are other teams to invest in. See for yourself how much Kenright has invested since he mortgaged his assets to buy the stake in the first place. You lke the idea of the club being run by a fan? Great. Today's game is run by money alone there's no room for sentiment and lving on past glories. Kenright is never going to provide the investment we need and meanwhile we see struggling lesser teams like Villa and West Ham get taken over.
  12. Giving the impression your club is not for sale under any circumstances would put off businessmen (not everton fans...) when there are other teams to invest in yes. Man City, Spurs, Charlton, West Ham, Fulham, Bolton, Villa, Wigan, Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle all now have chairmen who have outspent us or will invest heavily in their squads this summer.
  13. Let's get one thing straight Robert Earl is Kenrights showbiz mate - not the saviour of EFC. He was brought in by Bill mainly to help him fuck Gregg out of the picture and has gone on record saying Earl will be making no decisions in the running of the club. How much money is Robert Earl actually going to invest? As it was given to the press, he won't be putting cash into the club.
  14. Chairmen and politicians are the same, you can tell when they lie because their mouth will be moving. Anything that gives people what they want to hear. Shame we cant vote the fucker out.
  15. Except when we win of course - then everything's rosy. I do want Kenwright out though. To think of his blind optimism with a cheesy smile in every interview backed only with cash that is siphoned in through selling players and TV money. Turning away investors for no reason other than living out his boyhood fantasy makes me want to punch his face in.
  16. People become blasse about how far we have come thinking a new manager would take us into the next level. Moyes hasn't spent money compared to the rest of the top teams and outside of our first eleven our squad is average at best. If he was to go I think we might see a similar return to the relegation zone Leceister lost Martin O'neil or Curbishley more recently at Charlton.

    Spurs

We had the better of the game over all but the subs were shit and we play too defensively at times. Still top half though, what better manager have we had in the last 15 years? Be carefull what you wish for.
  18. The kind of reason I was glad we never signed this toss pot, whereever he goes the trouble follows.
  19. He wasn't prepared to be second choice at man U never mind 4th, that's why he asked to be moved in the first place. Though it's hardly an indictment to be second choice there. We have seen what he can do it's not a gamble.
  20. How many fans have actually been injured as a result of a goal celebration? Very few if any I bet. The sad part is the wankers who implement these changes are fat overpaid bureaucrats who have never played the game and are answerable to no one.
  21. Very happy about this one. What a bargain, especially when you look at us forking out 3.5 mil for Teflon and that was four years ago.
  22. If we start sliding back into the relegation zone then calls for Moyes head are fair game but as it stands he's doing better than any other manager in the last 16 years. He hasn't spent a lot of money and we are looking like a solid top table team. The football is poor to watch at times but when hasn't it been in the last generation? We can't harp on about the 80s those days are over and we don't have the financial clout to compete at the very top plain and simple. The teams who can, eclipse our entire season's transfer budget with the purchase of one player. The best we can hope for is 5th and 6th unless one of the '4' have a monumental disaster. We are 5 points away from that now if we win the game in hand against a dire Spurs away side. Five points away from achieving the realistically best possible outcome is a pretty good standing as far as I'm concerned. As for our stagnant Kenwright and his lack of funds that's another argument.
  23. Moyes won't stand for this bleating to the press, his fate is sealed now if it wasn't already. He'll be off in the summer so hopefully we can get a winger who can actually be arsed to run the lines.
  24. We don't have flair players in our first team outside of Arteta (I'm not including VDM or Mcfadge) and we haven't had the money to buy any. Teams who try to play good football on a budget have gone down, Norwich can testify to that. As for Hibbo, Neville,Naysmith, Stubbs and Carsley - all they know is direct pressing football. We play to our strengths and get results in the main, it's not pretty to watch but then it hasn't been for over a decade. At least now we can look to Europe instead of the Championship.
  25. The amount isn't fixed yet, it depends where teams finish. forget the repayment it's not going to happen. This is Christmas come early for our useless board.
