    Everton V Watford

My prefered team selection... ...........................................Howard........................................ ..........Neville...............Lescott............Yobo................Valente... .......Davies..............Cahill..............Carsley.............Arteta......... .....................................AJ.............Beattie........................... Score prediction? Erm... 3.1 to Everton...hopefully as we need a good start to the season, and positive home victory opening the season, if nothing else but confidence for the following home game! Can't wait! (I am sat with my new season ticket card in my hand...waiting!)
  2. I said nay! Only because I always imagine Star Wars and or Star Trek fans to be a little too like Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons...and I dont want to think that anybody on here is really like that...so Nay from me! On a serious note, if you are a big fan of Star Wars, go for it...that is a pretty good price when you compare it with some well known internet sites.
  3. Top bloke, and utter gentleman. Get well soon Rhino.
  4. Big Dunc was a quality servant for the club and it was always interesting watching him terrorise tired defensive players when he used to come on half way through the second half. I know that he is a millionaire, but I would like to think that Everton would keep him in an active role somewhere within the club. Like somebody else said earlier, a role at the Acadamy would be fantastic, to harden the younger players, and to show them the level of passion and effort which is required. Nobody else would be better suited to that role IMO. Big Dunc did have moments of stupidity...in most games in fact...however you can not argue that this type of behaviour is better than the anonymous players Everton have had in the past, who dont care whether we win, lose or draw. At least he had dedication, passion and wanted to play for the club.
  5. The Fix... Information about the documentary... http://imdb.com/title/tt0126303/ Unfortunately, i was unable to find a site you can purchase this 1997 production from...and comprehensive deep searches on both Emule, Kazaa and BitTorrent turned up absolutely zilch...sorry!
  6. I don't know if these links are any help, or help you on your quest... The Golden Vision http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0150747/ http://www.britmovie.co.uk/forums/looking-...den-vision.html In the Britmovie link, there is a member called mr_j_morris who posted in March 2005 who obviously knows a little more, and possibly where to get hold of a copy... then...a little bit more digging brought up this website... http://mastersound.co.uk/Video_Products/v1...20EVERTON%20F.C. Now, here is the page... http://mastersound.co.uk/Video_Products/video.htm scroll down a little and 'The Golden Vision' is listed. You can purchase it from this website, on VHS video for £13.00 or on DVD Video for £15.00 (the price includes postage). I am still looking for 'The Fix' Hope this helps in the meantime.
  7. I would take him back...but like already said, it must be right for Everton. I honestly dont think he will come back though. Shame though, because he was a boost to our line-up.
  8. I am not particulary bothered as I think that BT and AJ will work well this season. No player in their right mind is going to commit 100% in a friendly, only 7 days before the season starts. I honestly dont think we have a problem, other than with Naysmith, and hopefully he will not be in a natural starting line-up.
  9. I was very impressed how Lescott and Yobo linked up...they seemed to be well established to me. Between the the two of them, they won almost every header which was played in. Lescott also showed that he can turn on the pace when needed to recover ground. However, I believe the weak link in our defence is Naysmith...he just looks awkward and uncomfortable. The goal, however scrappy it was, was down to Naysmith. He was too far away from his man, and allowed him to cut inside. When Naysmith realised it was all too late and the ball had been played. I honestly thought that Naysmith would have been sold on during the closed season. Hopefully, when Valente and Pistone are fit, they will take his place for good. I was also a little concerned about VDM. Okay, me made a few runs along the right wing, and looked good at times, but he was sitting out far to wide for me, and looked to be drifting his way through the game. A couple of points during the second half, Moyes was actually screaming at him to get into the game. One positive point though was his interaction with the crowd as he was warming up. He was signing autographs and speaking with our supporters...which counts for a lot. He also received a good welcome when he was on the ball, which is encouraging and, I am sure, help him with any problems he may have. As for the rest of the new signings, Johnson looked sharp and was unfortunate not to score, especially with his looping attempt which hit the crossbar - and Tim Howard looked well in our goal too. Even Wright managed to pull off a decent driving save during the second half. Simon Davies looked much improved over last season, although it doesn't take much!. One concern I do have is with Tim Cahill. He piles into needless tackles all to easy and gives away freekicks in some very dangerous positions. I do hope that he manages to cap his behaviour and is a little more intelligent, rather than getting himself carded and banned. All in all, I can not wait for the season to begin. A few issues to tidy up on in the next coming week, but I honestly think this is the strongest line up Everton has had for a long long time.
  10. what is the pre-match entertainment. Usually testimonials have something before the game and at half time...anybody know of anything yet?
  11. Until further notice BA has halted all flights from the UK. BA announced "I aint getting on no plane you crazy fool" Sorry, I could not resist!
  12. We have all seen how the press and twist and manipulate a story to their own advantage. I think that VDM is a talent, and that we are still to see the best of him, but I dont know how much more our club is willing to put up with his 'alleged' woes.
  13. I dont think it was a bad performance. Considering, like has already been said, we are a month off our season. I think that we let ourselves down with some of the passing, it was a little short and somewhat sloppy at times. I don't know where the comment about Beattie being fat come from. I personally thought he looks better now that he ever has in a blue shirt. I thought that he linked up well with Johnson also. Johnson showed what he is capable of, and when he settles properly into the squad I think the line up of Beattie, Johnson, McFadden and Anichebe will be a successful one. I thought that Celtic looked the weaker team. They defended very deep, played around in their own half, and got a decent attempt and decent goal. I was impressed with Boyle...he looked bright and keen. Lescott had a decent game and defended strongly (incidentally I did not realise how big and imposing he actually is...weird hair though! hehe). When he links up with Yobo I think we will have a solid back there! Plus, with Howard in goal we have a good formula there. I think he had a brilliant game and made several precise reaction skills. I think we were really unlucky to walk away with a 1.0 loss. The chances we had! What with Johnson's turn and run into the penalty area, Arteta's near misses from set pieces, Beatties shot across goal, Stubb's attempt, Davies shot...we should have made them count. I think it looked positive and given a trip to the US and a month of training - we have the season to look forward to. I just hope we get a result at home on the 19th to build confidence for the next home game!.
  14. its not all about the phoneline either... yes, BT, or your service provider, and come out and upgrade it, usually at a fee to you, but a lot rests with your local exchange. Orange (formally Freeserve then Wanadoo) offered me 8MB several months back, which I signed up to, only to find out that the maximum I can get at my local telephone exchange is 2MB. Although BT is rolling out quicker exchanges it is worth remembering that not everybody can get 512MB broadband yet!
  15. Can only agree with this comment...!
  16. He truely is a young talented player. I hope that Everton have learnt lessons after the Rooney episode. Yes, we earnt a millions of pounds, but I honestly feel it set us back when we sold. Whilst on holiday recently, I saw brief interview with Victor. Everything he said was translated into foreign langauge, however you could just make out what he was saying in English. He seems to be dedicated to Evertonian (although we all remember a certain sh1tbag saying 'Once a Blue....) but he seems educated, well aligned and focused on reaching a regular first team place. I hope we can bring Victor through the ranks to a regular first team player, and hopefully he will be more of a gentleman, and honour the club who founded him. We can only live in hope.
  17. As a seasoned Evertonian, I try not to expect too much... however, that said, with recent signings, I think that Everton 'could' again be a team which we once were...and I hope so, I have had enough of being a below average team supporter. I personally think that this season our forwards will flurish!
  18. I know it's only a trial, however some of our better players came on a year trial signing. If nothing else, like Mac says, it makes players consider their future, and may spear them on to playing with a little more effort, and maybe heart - plus it should ease injury woes come the winter months. With Beattie, McFadden and Johnson, as well as Buckley who can play in a forward position when needed, we have added another dimension to our squad IMO. Tiz all gud!
  19. It seems like Everton have finally learnt how to do deals! Its taken them a while, but I think they have learnt to keep quiet until it is as good as done...and not spout at your potential signings. Toffees move for winger...CLICK HERE TO VIEW SKY SPORTS LATEST
  20. all credit to him...nice to see somebody sticking to their comments and intentions, and pulling their finger out! I am a supporter of VDM and I can not wait to see how his progresses this coming season.

Class! I never have been his greatest fan with all those step overs, greased up hair with hairbands and his pathetic whimpering whinging...but, now, I have even less time for him than I ever did now. If he does stay at Man U, this is going to be an interesting season for him!

Eh, registers and does not speak! Wish I had of done that...but alas...nope!
  23. plus, he may not be getting first team matches, however he is training with arguable the best players in the world, which is bound to raise his standard of the game even further. The experience that SWP will have gained being with the wealth of knowledge and talent at Chelsea will do him the world of good. If I was him, and IF he really has a say, I would stick for the time being anyway!
  24. I honestly think that they add something to our forum...hear me out... A forum is about discussion, freedom of speech and conversation. Although I can not bear their club and I would never waste my time registering on a Liverpool FC forum site, I think they are entitled to have their say. However, those LFC supporters who do come onto TT should respect our site, and consider their opinion before posting it. I am sure that TT has rules to enforce if any member starts posting argumentative, derogatory, abusive or insulting comments, I would I like to think that the admins/mods of TT would take appropriate action. Or as Adams rightly says..."Let em say if there doin nelt wrong but if there being tits ban em"
