Just like Everton to win this, I've put them down to lose 2 - 0 but we are Everton and we do things differently.

Boom!
Wordle 287 2/6
God only knows how you got that, obviously I didn't. I had to google that to see if it was an actual word.
Have never seen that word used in any article or speech, would never have known it was a word.

And Neville's doubled in size, would definitely need a wide screen TV to see him all in shot.

I'll have what Steve's having.
- StevO and Romey 1878

Yeah that looks like a badly staged stunt. Pair of arseholes.
-
ffs Duncan, stop talking as though we are already in the lower leagues. We will not be relegated so try looking upwards rather than downwards.
-
He still runs down blind alleys and continually loses the Ball. Its no wonder we got him for next to nothing.
Townsend has been the same, started off with a few decent games but is now showing what you get when you shop in the bargain basement.
-
Did we get rid of Davies. ??
-
Haf, you shout about not throwing inexperienced players in but these so called experienced players are not doing it. Some of these players have played under our last Four Managers and have shown absolutely Fook all. Get them out and try anybody who will have a go.

Wet Spam 2-0 Everton
None.

We are playing players out of position because they are better in their alternate role than others are in their primary role unfortunately.
Obviously not Haf, the amount of games lost proves its not working, how often and how long do you let it go on before you change it.
We have two full backs who have not been given a chance but Godfrey, JJ and Coleman have all been switched to different sides we even had Gordon dropping to fullback against Palace.
-
He's best out on the wing where he's not surrounded by 2 or 3 players, his best work is done when he cuts inside. Lampards getting into the same mode as some other managers we have had aka playing players out of position. JJ, Godfrey, and I don't know where Gordon and Gray were supposed to be playing against Palace. !!
-
FA Cup obviously means nothing, DCL, Gray, Iwobi, all rested, if anybody needs a rest its Gordon and Richie.

I hate Iwobi, he stopped me getting a 10 pointer.
Only kidding.

I just new you would want the last word Mike, you're renowned for it. And yeah Cornish I was amongst those fans. Will not forget Mick Lyons racing through the mud to score his second.

I didn't pick out any individual season, I averaged across all the seasons Lyons was at the club...yes we had a 3rd and two 4ths but they were outweighed by a 7th, a 9th, an 11th, a 14th, two 15ths, a 17th and a 19th....not exactly a golden era.
I think there's a bit of nitpicking going on there Mike, my post never mentioned any "Golden Era", the post was about How good Mick Lyons was but never got the credit he should have done, the reason was because he was always among better players. I think that list of players from the 70s sort of proves what I said Mr pedant.

Get your point on Mick Bill, but the players around him weren't that great, our average final league position in his time was 11th (with a low of 19th) and we won nothing. One league cup final defeat was all we had to show apart from three UEFA Cup appearances during which the only team we beat was Finn Harps (knocked out by AC Milan, Dukla Prague and Feyenord). I'd not call that a team of greats, nostalgia ain't what it used to be
I think you picked out the worst season we had in the 70s Mike . Think we had 3 or 4 top 4 finishes around about that time. Mick Lyons was with Everton from 71 to 82 and played in teams with these players, as well as a few others like Duncan McKenzie, Martin Dobson, Andy King and such like. Wouldn't mind a few of them today.
-
Not bad for a centre half, 2 goals and an assist. Got number ten on his shirt because he played everywhere.
-
Mick Lyons, now there's a player who would run through brick walls and play any position on the pitch, and it was 100% in every game.
Didn't get the recognition he deserved because he was surrounded by other great players who did get the plaudits. I often use this anology but its one that rings true .... If I was fighting down the trenches Mick Lyons is a man I would be happy to have alongside of me.

Why, when I click onto these twitter links does everything just vanish ?. The link never comes up. !!

Don't think you should judge anybody by the touches they have, if you look at every other Centre Half they all have more touches than the Forwards because they play it backwards and sideways in their own half. Check out Liverpool's, Man city's, Arsenals defenders, they all have more touches than the forwards. You can't use that one to have a go at him Haf.
