Thought as we have had a good summer transfer window that it would be interesting to see people's opinion on the new players and whether they rate them and so far it only seems like Mirallas has caught people's imagination(and peanuts(not sure if he counts though)

I didn't realise he was only 30, I thought he was 35ish, if he is fit and his knees aren't fucked then why not! Depends on how much he is going to get paid

I tried to make light of our getting knocked out of the cup, by offering a little humour. If you didn't get it, fine, but don't start with the isolating bollocks. I'm annoyed at one or two of you for being sanctimonious, and jumping the gun, and if you don't like it, then don't give it out. Same for Bailey, who thinks it's ok to say I'm taking the piss, as though the comment has no hurtful weight, but moans should he get it back.

I realise you are taking the piss but its these type of threads that end up causing all sorts of bullshit arguements over nothing. Its completely unnecessary in my eyes and is as funny as getting fisted my captain hook.

People aren't complaining, it's a thread about Phil Neville, and his play! Some people think he's doing okay some don't, I think those who don't, are worried that he could let the side down, and on occasion he has been fortunate not to, and if we had someone decent in that position then 3rd place might have been 2nd or even 1st at the moment! Yes we are all buzzing that we are in the top three, but it's a long season, and some of us would like to see that area of the starting line up to be more reliable

Only place for Nev in the team for mine is at RB, and even then he's on limited time with Coleman to take that spot soon.
 
For those arguing there's no better solution, why not take a punt on a youngster? Even if they're not ready or up for the prem yet, Neville clearly isn't up to the Prem any more either. At least we'll get many a season out of a youngster who will improve than one or two more seasons out of Nev who will only decline.

Exactly, Neville being the missing man. So what harm would it be, if we put someone like Junior in? Be a great opportunity for him. If the other players are already carrying a dead weight, expectation will be off him?

No single formation/tactics/selection is perfect for 38 games, plus Swansea could have easily scored 3 goals so even in that 3-0 and we played them off the park Moyes will address that and rightly so. Yes, we've had a good start, but there is always room for improvement.

Quite simply he does not have the technical ability at the level we need to be. I think this subject has been more than covered. Great pro blah blah blah but for me he is waste of a midfield position.

I agree it could have been a lot worse. We should be beating Leeds and Southampton even without Jelavic.
 
He'll get some rest and then have a couple of weeks to score a few goals and practice for his hat trick against the RS

Oh behave, we always get this when he actually does something. He has the worst touch of possibly any footballer i've seen, and that includes Emile Heskey. I'll give credit where credit's due, he took his goal really well, but a few minutes before that mirallas put him through one on one and with his first touch of the ball he pretty much killed the opportunity, the ball just bounces off him 90% of the time. If you want someone who will "chase down, put himself about and not lose the ball" get me in! i'll do that for £20K a week!

Time for Neville to retire me thinks, especially with our new signings, there is no need for him to be anywhere near the first team
