This may not be entirely fair as I only see the odd televised games, but it seems to me that Barkley does not have a top quality 'football brain'. Think Scholes.
If Barkley lays off a first time pass it seems as though he's decided to do that before he even receives the ball, but no other option is considered. If he starts running with the ball then his mind set is 'running with the ball' and often he does not see other options. This is why he often ends up in a dead-end out wide or doubling back to no purpose. The problem is that you can't 'train' this into a player, he either has it or he doesn't. He undoubtedly has many other fine skills and it is up to Martinez (and Hodgson) to play him in such a way that these skills are maximised.

I like to buy cars that are a year or two old and keep them forever - 200K miles at least. But, with some models, they break down much sooner than others. I spend a fortune on repairing that used car thinking I'll get a good long run out of it, then it break down again. Am I throwing good money after bad, or am I investing in the future?. You just feel a connection and after knowing so much about a team you feel apart of that history and of it.
 
What I did was just read a lot about the club and watched the games. Each game that goes by and the excitement you feel you will make you want more. It is addicting and the great Everton community on the internet, in Liverpool, and even in the states will make you feel more and more home.

Hi Ben, I really don't want to sound harsh and I am happy you have chosen everton as your preferred team but I have never fathom how someone can just pick a team and start supporting them.
 
It's either drilled into you or an experience has made this choice for you.
 
Supporters really do baffle me nowdays. When I was young I never listened or toll on board anything my dad said but due to him supporting everton and me being around that experience I was hooked. It's like something you cannot choose. I could have taken a easier more smug, glory hunting path when I was younger and followed man utd or liverpool for that matter but it chooses you.

We really just need Lukaku, a winger, and possible a striker or one on loan.
Getting Lukaku will already set us up as last season because I don't believe deulofeu was that effective anyways.
 
Getting a different striker and winger will really push us forward.
Also think Martinez plans on introducing a couple of young kids which will be very exciting to be.

Tbh the lad probably wants to stay at Chelsea. The vibes from Chelsea are that Jose wants to have a look at him over pre season before making a decision. That's the hold up in my opinion. If Jose says get rid I'm sure he'll end up here.

If you really think about it, we have already pretty much secured European football which is already above out expectations earlier.
All I want now is for our team to give Arsenal a run for their money and that will make me even prouder to be a blue.
