  1. We need a strong squad, competition for places.
  2. The old addige of "Dont change a winning team" comes to mind, having said that good as Gosling was against AEK they are not a premier leauge team. I think Gosling will be a very good player at either Right back or Right midfield, but not this season, and not when we are trying to put a run together. I would swap Gosling for Heitinger, leave the rest of the team as the one that started against AEK. Rodwell is playing well and the midfield trio of Rodwell Fellani and Cahill impressed me alot, and I would not change that. Yak, Saha or Jo upfront al have their posatives. Saha maybe has a point ot prove after the AEK sending off (which wasnt a sending off IMHO - although you cant raise your hands) Jo playes well at home, the Yak looked a bit rusty so maybe have him on the bench. This game is so important to us. We have a good run of fixtures so to win hear could realy set us on a run and give us impastus that we need. Whatever 11 starts the game lets cheer them on, prey for an early Everton lead, and a resounding victory for the Toffees!
  3. I think if we win this it could be the start of our season, we have been very good in the past 3 or 4 years of putting very good runs together. A convincing win against Blackburn would be the perfect way to build on the great performance against AEK Athens. I also think the performance against Athens convinced Moyes that Fellani, Cahill and Rodwell are a effective mid field trio. COYB
  4. Nothing, but Elstone is quite respected in the field with regards to finance (obviously not by Everton fans!) so will be interesting to hear his views on debt in sport and the plans for Evertons finaces. Also his comparisons with Rugby which was where he learnt his trade I believe. The conspiricy theorists need a pantomime villan to boo and blame things on, and we are lucky as we have 2 at Everton. Everybody now "He's behind you"
  5. The the answer to Mr Appiah is contained in your own post. His knee is more brittle than a jacobs cracker
  6. Would realy welcome this signing, gives us more strength in depth on our weaker right side. Must mean the end of Hibbo if he signs though. Sad as he has been a good servent to the club but is too inconsistant, and probably not up to the level we need to push on to challenge the top 4. Couldnt of got where we are without him.
  7. Wouldnt say Fellani has been any worse than any other Everton player this season with the exceptions of Saha, Pienaar and Rodwell. He was great when he came on against Wigan, second only to Rodwell for MOM. Whether this is due to recovering from his virus, or the general nerviousnes of the team who can tell. I would go Howard Heitinger Yob Distan Baines Pienaar Rodwell Fellani Cahill Billy SAHA Dont want Billy and Heitinger playing on the same wing for their first game in the leauge! I know DM will never play this side as Nev is undropable unless injured. So wsap Fellani for Nev for the probable line up.
  8. Huh? Fellani was our joint top scorer last season, which if you remember was his FIRST in the premier leauge. He was in a country where he didnt speak the language, and a team that resembled something from scrap heap challenge due to the injuries we had! Fellani also had a back injury that prevented him playing at his best for a good part of the end of last season. This season will be important for him, if he gets in a settled side now that he has ajusted to the premier leauge we should see the best of him.
  9. Wow, thats alot of anger to digest in 1 post. Let me begin by saying that I to wish we could spend £20 or £30 million every year on players, but the simple truth is we dont have that sort of money. Blue Bill doen have the money, he knows this, we know this everyone knows this. Why the supprise at a well known fact? A more interesting question is why are teams like shity and villa more attractive to investors than us? Two schools of thought on this one: 1) New stadium, a new stadium would cost a vast amount to build, but more importantly planning permission. New owners would be put off buying a club and only being able to re-develop GP piecemeal. If you get planning permission for a new house the price of the land goes up, or an extension for a house puts the price up. With no new site and limited space around GP to develop would be a big turn off for investers. 2) Blue Bill doesnt realy want to sell, We will see as the planning issue will be sorted one way or another very soon. If we get a yes and bidders are refused then we will know! Blue Bill is by no means perfect but he is not a "cancer" (which by the way is a horrable insult to anyone who has had to watch someone dying from the horrific desiese). He is not "Agent Johnson" selling players behined managers backs. He is what he is (just as Shakespeare said) a rich man a committed Blue nose, just not rich enough in todays mega rich days of averis. By the way the club accounts are there for all to see if you are interested.
  10. This Bently situation is interesting, especialy with DM's comments today. As we now know it is not City its got to be Shite, possable, but I dont see him as a Benethus type player. Bolton as they have made some fair sized bids recently, but again unlikley as I am sure Bently would not want to go there. Which leaves us - maybee
  11. Dare one say its a certain Portugese gentleman who surname begins with M?
  12. No worries mate, welcome to the board! Where did you here the roumers about Shawcross, have you got any links?
  13. I know this is exciting, but thats a bit extreme
  14. Have to agree with you, a midfield center of Arteta, Rodwell and Fellani would be very powerful. I know it means leaving Cahill and Pip out, I just feel that those 3 would be a better unit and with Pip and Cahill and Ossy on the bench give us some real depth in the middle.
  15. Possible, clearly not wanted by the Galacticos, alot would depend who else comes in for him, and his wages would be a problem. Can see this as a loan with option. His poor wife is also a concideration as well.
  16. Billy is left sided and Bently is right sided, most of our recent problems have come down the right when we have had to play Ossy, Bently would would make the right side much stronger especialy with Mr H from Atletico
  17. Would be bery bad if it is true. BUT NSNO is not the Oracle of Delphi, more like mystic meg with a hangover (not that the Oracle was that accurate to begin with!)
  18. Maybe there having bandwith problems!
  19. Pederson was ok until he did the dive of shame, his assists per season . Anyway Bently is quality and I believe that DM will get the best out of him.
  20. I think Bently would be a great signing. He his a fantastic crosser of the ball, and his passing ability is also very good. He has a good shot, and would compliment our team. He is good at tracking back, and importantly can play in the middle as well as on the right (although we have a derth of central midfielders). At Blackburn he made their side tick, with Pederson and could do the same for us with Pienaar and the new Russian lad. It gives us options that we need at the level we are aiming for. Crikey just add Arteta (god bless him) into the mix and we lots of creative options and threats for opponents. If we get the signings we are roumerd to be after we will have a very VERY good squad. Please God lets get these players on and kick on as a team!
  21. A little harsh given the situation. Confidence stems from the back and with Yobo and Pip at the back I doubt even the cheshire cat would be grinning!. Yobo is a good CB but only when he has someone there to lead him, which is where the experienced Distan will come in. We are also in poor form genraly at the mo which doesnt help. I think playing away and getting a result with 10 men is a good job done. At the moment its about getting results, when they come confidence will grow and so will the form of the team. Everton needs us to cheer them on now. Everyone knows the problems, and I hope a couple of additional signings will help. Moaning wont help, lets cheer them on and let the team settle after the Lescott fiasco. COYB
  22. I know it would be an or, to be honest I would prefer Taylor as I he can play RB quite well, I remember the game he had against us last season, he played at RB and was a right pain in the ass. He is strong has pace, and is a good crosser of the ball. He would then fit in with Yobo and Jags by being RB, I think that would be a strong defence.
  23. Have to agree with the above for the money I would prefer Taylor and or shawcross to be honest, both are younger and have more potential to be honest. Taylor as he would be a great right back imo.
  24. I would imagine that the deal has already been worked out prior to the work permit being applied for it may well be a condition of application.
