  1. cahill, get in. now get a 2nd.
  2. Is Moyes trying to break Beckford's spirit? How the fuck does Anichebe get the nod above our only scoring striker? Load of horse shit.
  3. If Moyes starts Saha, I'm done.
  4. he's a central mid? why they fuck would we ever need another one of those?
  5. I don't like the idea of baines playing LM. I think part of his brilliance comes from his link-up with Pienaar. I don't know what he'd do with a left back behind him who isn't as quick to move forward. would much rather see a proper left winger brought it, if that was gonna be the formation choice.
  6. But arsenal have won 10, not 3. So you're point is useless. On current form, we're going down. I hope we find the net in this game one more time than citeh do and that Tevez doesn't play.
  7. Dempsey as his Trump card? I'm pretty sure we've got a US team member as well...really poor writing there. Can't see Landycakes picking Fulham over us.
  8. Sell on. Clearly Palace want him. Get as much as we can for him while he's healthy and in form, otherwise we'll have to search our pockets to pay for another round of surgery, pain meds and therapy.
  9. I didn't intend to say Heitinga was not good enough, he is clearly better than the two we are playing atm. However, my view of who is best is irrelevant when I'm not picking the team every match. If Moyes isn't going to play Johnny, he needs to be sold. We simply can't afford his wages if he is going to sit on the bench as cover for Distin and Jags or be played out of position. I made my suggestions on the assumption that Moyes stays our manager and continues in his tired ways. I also didn't mean to suggest that all this business is necessarily done in Jan, we would probably be better off doing the bulk of it in the summer.
  10. We clearly need a couple new players; a striker, a proper winger and left back. We also clearly haven't the funds to buy boots for any of those players without selling off their old ones, much less the players themselves. What I'm interested to see what you guys think we could get for the following players, as I think they're clearly surplus to requirements. Heitinga: Not playing, not going to play so long as Fellaini fit, love him to get a look in at CB, but Moyes isn't having it. Are Citeh still interested? Bilyaletdinov: He wasn't worth the 9 mil we paid for him. He's had enough time to settle in now, and despite hoping this year he'd come good, he's not done enough with his time on the pitch to merit the wages. I hear some Arsenal fans rate him quite highly. Saha: He's shit. Don't care what Moyes sees in training, I don't give a fuck if he tries real hard at Finch Farm, because Goodison is where it counts. Surely he could be sold to a smaller foreign club for a positive sum... Yobo: Should have never been loaned. Sell him and spend the revenues. Any word on how his season has gone so far? Anichebe: Sell him in Jan. Surely he must fetch 3-4mil. Surely the sale of these 5, who are all good players, will raise enough funds to secure a two "marquis" signings. I'd like to see Landon Donovan and Darren Bent, those two would do us a lot of good. I hear Carlos Tevez is available as well, and he seems a decent guy who values a lot of things that make Everton the best club (based on his wholesale rejection of Manc practices).
  11. I'm hoping he stays until he comes out and says he's leaving. I'm not going to be ass-hurt about it when he does leave. Just let me have my hope. And yeah, I'd have J.Lo back, and move Heitinga on.
  12. I'd have him back on loan for sure. It might also go a long way to convincing Pienaar he may be better off here. Perhaps City would be keen on a straight swap, Heitinga for Lescott, what a bit of Moyes transfer market magic that would be!
  13. he's one of the few I'd have a really hard time parting with. Can't be worth less than 15 mil, not the way he's been playin the last two years.
  14. 100% yes. he's a fantastic striker. much better than the shit we have.
  15. 2m was just a number, shit, even 1m or just getting him off our wage bill would be fair for saha atm. He's utter shit. He needs gone. Bailey, I would hope that is the case with Yak, he's yet to show that this year. I'd love to see him become the striker he once was, both in terms of fitness and goals, but I'm not sure he will. I hope I'm wrong. As for what type of striker we should buy, the first requirement is ABSOLUTELY NO INJURY RECORD followed by Moyes' evaluation of their potential (this is the one area in which I think Moyes is unparalleled in ability) and their goal-scoring record. Donovan is a fair shout; we know he'd fit well with most of our personnel, and it would be good to see him played in an advanced role for us; as I now see Coleman as first choice RW with or without Donovan. But, if Moyes has his eye on a cut-price/out-of-favor striker from another top-flight or the championship then we ought to try for that as we are skint for both cash and goals.
  16. With Beckford looking more and more like a gem of a free signing and Yakubu seemingly getting back (or close) to his best (albeit very slowly, I have faith he will) our striking options are looking to get better over the season. However, we have this third striker in whom our manager has the greatest confidence in spite of the clear evidence that calling him shit would be a compliment; if a buyer can be found, even for 2 mil, he ought to be sold asap. As I see it we have two strikers, who for the rest of this season, will be best deployed as game changing subs. I am not convinced that either have the ability (for yak it's fitness and becks still needs more time) to have an impact for the whole match. I'd love to be proved wrong and see them play together against WBA, I think we might see that the strength of Yak and the flighty finesse of Beckford may be the best pairing we've had in a while. But, in January the one buy (okay, I'll not wish for too much: loan) we need to make is a top-flight striker who can play the full 90 up top alone. Yak hasn't got the fitness to do that, nor has Beckford the match experience. I haven't a clue who is available for loan/cheap buy, but then, I'm not paid to do that (nor do I play footie manager).
  17. Felli, he bossed the midfield, yet again. Never want to see Heitinga in DM again. Good play from nearly everyone apart from Saha, especially Distin (what a rock!), Baines and Cahill.
  18. get saha the fuck out of this club. he's worthless.
  19. I think you've misread what I'm saying. I am not a Moyes loyalist. I'm simply trying to take a moderate stance on the issue. I think it's best to give Moyes some time to work things out, and if he proves that he can't (I'm of the opinion that he won't) then give him the axe. I said give him til the end of January, but that's assuming we don't do any worse than we are now. If we drop to the bottom three, then he ought not get more than a few more matches at the helm. About the pretty football, I was not trying to say I like it. Sure, it's fun to watch some good possession, but like you said, that's utter bullshit if it doesn't end in goals. I also agree with your want to see fast-paced athletic wide football, but my point remains, I don't give a fuck what style we play as long as we're winning. (which was the intended meaning in my first posts).
  20. I'm not panicking yet. Like I said, if we're still bottom 5 at the END of January, I'll panic and call for Moyes to get the sack, but atm I think I'm starting to doubt that he has the ability to pull us up this year's table. About pretty footie, if it wins games, then I'd love us to play fluidly and with flare, but atm moment it isn't winning matches and you don't avoid relegation by drawing every fucking match (except the ones you lose).
  21. I've grown quite tired of hearing fans okay with playing pretty football and losing. Sure it's nice to watch and even okay to justify a loss or draw here and there with bad luck or poor finishing, but at 15 matches in and just 3 wins I couldn't give a rat's ass if we play the worst hoofball ever and win. Because, there are no points awarded to teams who play pretty (except maybe for Barca.) Truth is, our midfield has become farce and Moyes needs to make some personnel and attitude changes and eek out some wins before we start trying for pretty football again.
  22. chelsea are coming off two league losses and a draw. They'll be out for blood. We're fucked. 4-0 Chelsea.
  23. Brilliant banter this. Blueboy, you're a twat. But, I think the days of Moyes may well be coming to an end. I wouldn't be surprised to see him gone by the end of the year. Not because he'll be sacked, but I think Moyes may be looking for greener pastures. We all know it would take little more than a call to Celtic for him to land that job, or a good long convo with Fergie to have a look in at the ManU job. Speculation aside, Moyes has clearly run out of ideas, he's failed to learn from mistakes most of see as pretty fucking obvious. The points about him not dealing with the strike force over the summer are really spot on, we definitely needed something more than Beckford coming our way (although I rate Becks). I'm not gonna call for his head right now, give him through January, if we're still sitting bottom 5 then he needs to go, but until then Up the Blues and COYB.
