  1. I agree, problem with the pace angle is that we don't have anyone. Mirallas looks like he is off, Lookman doesn't look up to this level yet and Lennon is, well, Lennon. Does Sandro count as pace? He isn't lightening but he must be as quick as we have. It all goes back to same question most were asking about transfers, why bring in Rooney, Sigurdsson and Klaasen to do the same type of job. It's making a rod for your own back.
  2. No one really but I have given it to DCL as at least we improved a bit when he came on the pitch.
  3. We deserved an absolute pasting but got away with only 2. Exactly the same rubbish as Monday but this time with the deserved result.
  4. I haven't seen you around for a while mate, hope youre well and good to hear from you again. Back on topic - I completely agree!
  5. Wheeey we just had a chance! I forgot what a shot on goal looked like!
  6. So now he takes Jags off? 82 fucking minutes and now that sub is made? Koeman has lost the plot.
  7. I'd be playing Holgate at the back instead of Williams at the moment. Agree with the LB. You watch Alonso or Moses flying up and down the touchline but Baines just can't be expected to do that 3 times in a week. Besic and DCL easily best players for us.
  8. The pace thing is important. When we have played it best it has been with Holgate at RCB. There is no doubt that Chelsea play it best. Kante and Fabregas holding with Pedro and Willian in free roles behind the striker. Both of them and Morata are all capable of getting in behind as well as linking play. I'm not sure exactly where Willian and Pedro defend, I think it's narrow and just outside the way central midfielders. If we want to play 5 we need much more pace up front and in defence. It's another reason why our signings make no sense.
  9. From that cross theyour were 2 v 1 in the middle... how can that happen with 3 centre backs. Luckily the cross was shite!
  10. Anyone questioning why there are doubts over Gana going forward just need to go back to his last 3 passes. He is pressed, doesn't have options immediately available and he panics and forces a pass that isn't there. As I've said before that's not his game and shouldn't be what he is necessarily in the side to do but that's his limitation. We are getting lucky again need to change from the 5 it isn't working. I'd even go 442.
  11. If moses goes down thats probably a pen. Baines trying to turn when he had no chance.
  12. Rooney and Sigurdsson are now almost central. 5-2-2-1
  13. You said as much before the game. Madness.
  14. That was a chance but Sandro completely skews his shot!
  15. We need to go 451. Get DCL up top, Rooney behind, Sandro right, Siggy left. Get Williams off. See how that works and if Rooney/Sandro aren't getting a kick get Lookman or Lennon on down the right.
  16. Oh and Gana has been directly linked with both goals and could have been sent off but yep blame the young lad.
  17. Did I say he was playing well? The whole team is shite, no-one is covering themselves in glory and both him and Gana are having too many players to try and cover and then have no options ahead of them. I judge people on the situation they are in and they are all lost and at sea and I don't see why a 18 year old lady should be the one kicking the can. Untwist your knickers pal.
  18. Yep it was exactly the same last year, caught in no man's land. People were having a pop at Rom and Ross last season in big games but as I said last year, it's shite tactics and our forwards are isolated from our midfield.
  19. Pretty sure he has been asked to sit back and play the Schneiderlin role alongside Gana. When he has been on the ball he has looked up and tried to move us forward but Siggy and Rooney are offering us nothing and Sandro needs to start trying to get in behind as well as coming short.
  20. Fair play mate, you were spot on re fitness. I thought he would tire but he almost seemed scared to throw many punches for fear of gassing. His fitness coach should be sacked!
  21. That's because that's what decent teams do. What's worse is that last week Chelsea were absolutely dominated by Spurs (but carried a threat).
  22. Gana lost Fabregas for the goal, left him for dead.
  23. Tbh it's not necessarily about players not gelling, I get that it wont click from day 1 but it's stupid things like playing Martina, playing DCL out wide every other game, or players like Rooney/Davies/Klaasen in areas that they aren't going to show their best that ruin our chances of having a balanced, cohesive unit. Maybe when everyone is fit Koeman will have everyone where they should be but I don't think it will change.
  24. Completely agree that if McGregor goes balls out early he wont see the end but Mayweather isn't an aggressive boxer so McGregor will have the opportunity set the tempo so if his plan is to last 12 he will last. I don't think it will, he expects to land and finish it early so I won't be taking your bet! ? I will also say that a UFC fight is so much more draining than boxing. In this fight, if Mcgregor wanted to, he could take a breather but if he does that he won't stand a chance because Mayweather will pick off every round. Interestingly I watched back the Hatton v Mayweather fight and Ricky had Hatton in more trouble than I had rememberred. Once the cut took its toll and he ran out of gas that was the end of him but the ref that day was also a joke, and stopped Hatton working up close. Mayweather was uncomfortable and he was getting caught. As the bigger guy I would expect McGregor to follow a similar plan, but hold inside rather than fight because he wont be able to match Mayweather technically.
